I am a veterinarian in WNY and I have been using this pharmacy for several years and I have only had positive experiences with them. They are very reasonably priced, will compound a medication to exactly what I need, and offer free ground shipping. I typically order medications that they put into small, soft flavor chews that owners find a breeze to give to their pets (especially cat owners). They send me at "no charge" a selection of unmedicated soft chews (5 common flavors) that I simply give to an owner, who then lets me know in a day or two what flavor their cat seemed to like, and this way we are sure the cat will eat it once the medicated ones arrive. And they have a very easy to use website portal for veterinarians that allows me to select the exact medication as well as strength I need, and I rarely have to speak to a pharmacist as long as I know what I need. I am very happy using them and would recommend them to both pet owners and to veterinarians. UPDATED REVIEW: I am changing my review from 5 stars to 1 star because as of April 1st, VPA suddenly raised their prices on every med we currently get from them, and I do not mean a modest increase, but a doubling or in some cases the cost of a prescription went up 2 1/2 times what it cost just a couple months earlier. I have had many clients complaining as we could not explain to them why their refill suddenly is costing the owner more than twice what it cost the time previously. One of their pharmacists said that the decision was made from "Corporate", and sadly, because of their decision, they have priced themselves out of many of the medications we get from VPA, as I will now be using other compounding pharmacies whos prices did not skyrocket. A modest increase in prices is understandable, but this was in my opinion a bad decision and makes us (the veterinarians) look like we are the greedy ones.

Horrible! Our beloved cat Mattie was very sick and was awaiting a script from this company to aid in her comfort during her last days. Script was called in on a Tues. They took payment info on a Wed. Thurs., they called me for payment and shipping confirmation details as they had encountered an "error". I told them to cancel the order, it was too late. On Sat., we had to put our pet to sleep--and we received the script THAT AFTERNOON!!!! Then they called THREE MONTHS LATER wanting payment info. I was told if I could provide the name of the person I talked to when I canceled (3 months ago), they would forgive the charge. Now theyve sent me a statement. Dreadful disorganized company! Update - I have slightly amended my rating; Id give 2.5 stars if possible. To their credit, after receiving a formal letter of complaint from me, they have refunded the money I sent them (I paid from the last invoice I received noted in the post above to close this matter). I can see from other posts they are undergoing some kind of reorg, so hopefully this will improve their services. Use caution...

I work at a veterinary clinic, we used VPA to order compounded chewable medications for our clients, if they have fussy patient who will not take oral meds with a pill pocket. They literally doubled the price for any compounded flavored chewable leaving many of our clients understandably angry and leaving no margin for clinics, which is important if the clinic is being billed, as not every client picks up their medication leaving the clinic to foot the bill with no profit margin. Bottom line, the only reasonably priced compounded pharmacy just priced themselves out of business. They respond to every review stating how they have lowered prices for other meds (that no clinic orders, because in my opinion most of the market is in flavored chewables) and how they have not raised prices in years, dont be stupid and double your prices. Reasonably increase prices over time and dont double the cost of your medications.

First order i called was shipped expediently. I tried to call in the refill but the wait was long, with no info on the recording saying what the order taking hours are or if reps where actually going to answer the phone . There is a 3 hour time difference, so I took their suggestion and ordered on line. A week later I after not receiving the meds, I tried the phone again, same issue, so wrote on line as as they suggest.. After not receiving a reply after 3 days, I called. The rep said they faxed a refill request to vet, not saying when or that if they got a reply. My Vet techs say they have a same day turn around. But they called the vet, and said they got the OK and the order out. Its been another week and I still havent gotten the order. I ordered a bit late and i know we different hours but I have been around a long time and think this is really terrible costumer service.

This is the worst place that Ive ever had to deal with when trying to get compounded medications for my dog. Ive been shipped at least 4 bottles of medicine without the actual medication in it. My dog has seizures and thats nothing to play around with. This company has no concept of how to properly provide pet care. Youre told theyll get back with you when theres a problem....never happens. Ive always had to call them back for a status report only to find out what I was told would be done hasnt even been addressed with anyone and Im told once again that Ill get a call back and it never happens. My vet has given me access to a local company that will compound Lucys medicine now. Stay away from Vets First Choice and Vet Pharmacy of America.

After not receiving notification from them as my vet told me I would, I reached out to them and ordered my dogs medication. I explained to the lady I spoke with I needed the fastest way possible as far as shipping as my pet should have been on this medication already but due to the "email address mix up" between my vet and the pharmacy it had been delayed. She told me when I ordered it on Friday it would be delivered the next day. I told her thank you and paid the extra money for shipping. Needless to say the prescription arrived today which is Tuesday instead of next day which would have been Saturday. I called them to complain and was told it was due to the holiday and they would not credit me back for the shipping. Not a happy person!

I placed an order three weeks ago and never received the refill. I called the company and spoke with a customer service rep. who said they didnt have any record of my order and yet they had charged my credit card! The prices have doubled since my last order. The rep said have a new computer system and that she was not sure how to use it. The rep. said they would place another and have it shipped overnight. That was four days ago. My pets life could be in danger and I need to work with my vet for an emergency substitute. If you need reliable service do not use this company for your pets medication.
