Most amazing store! I could live here!! Whatever kind of art supply you need, you will find it here! Staff is wonderful! Be sure to look in the specialty papers--you could decorate your home with these! A secret treasure awaits you! They have lots of books--how to, examples, beautiful coffee table books, all kinds of books pertaining to art. Just thinking about TX Art Supply makes me want to jump into my car and go now! The prices I would say are about average with other art supply stores (Michaels, Hobby Lobby). The selection is wider as to the different types of art supplies (leather working, paper making, science experiment kits for kids - home school even, paints, so many things...) but the depth to some of the more popular categories like general cookie cutter scrapbooking- you would be happier just going to michaels. BUT if your scrapbooking is eclectic and mixed media, if you know who Teesha Moore or Tim Holtz is, if you are into art journaling or altered art or altered book making...go to TX art supply, bring a sack lunch, be prepared to stay all day, leave your credit cards at home, and bring in cash the amount of money you allow yourself to spend. Otherwise you will go over the limits on all your credit cards-- I promise you! :) Be sure to go upstairs if you go to the store in the montrose area. Hope to see you there!!

This must be the largest art supply store on the planet. They have EVERYTHING!!! The best part is the staff. It seems everyone there is an artist and can always help me find what I need and explain how to use it. I wish other stores were like this. Remember the days when you could go to the local hardware store and talk to someone who actually used the products? Anyway - if you are ever looking for artsy craftsy stuff in Houston, Id go to Texas Art. If they dont have what you want, nobody will. Its in the Montrose area of Houston by the Arts District where lots of the creative types like to hang. Houston is such an amazing city and its local stores like this one which make it even better. Im so glad I moved here :-)

3 words - HEAVEN. ON. EARTH. The selection & great prices will have you stuck in there for an hour MINIMUM. And you might be surprised to discover that they have just as many cool & unique gifts as they do art supplies. They have like every pen, pencil, & marker ever made, even hard to find ones that youd think you could only purchase online, & even better - they sell them individually in every color at a very reasonable prices. Seriously love this store, & am almost glad they arent located closer to where I live in Sugar Land cuz I would spend dangerous amounts of money here.

I could live here. I am new to art so I cant speak as to the quality of their finer products BUT I can tell you that Ive never not found something I needed. So many selections & very well organized. Their marker aisle is my favorite place in the store - the colors! Staff is all knowledgeable and eager to help :) I dont know if there is a cheaper option in Houston but I know that if its for art.. and I need it. I can find it here.

Although when I arrived they were pretty busy, I was too enthralled with the selection of supplies to notice whether or not I was greeted by the staff though I did see several employees with other customers. I found EVERYTHING I was looking for and the store was nice and clean and modern and very welcoming! The book selection was also incredible and I was pleased with it well. Ill definitely be back here!

I love love this place! They have so many supplies and its so soothing looking at all of it. Their way of arranging the store is pretty peaceful too, and they have a great selection of specialty papers. If youre looking for art supplies, dont go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby—youll find a lot more variety here, and the staff is very nice too :)

Is there any creative or artistic item that can be bought that you cant buy here? I dont think so. Excellent selection, prices are what you would expect at a specialty store. The staff are some of the most knowledgeable folks around and most are willing to help and educate. An excellent resource for the creative community.

They have all the things you need and more! The only thing they dont have would be fabrics, but other than that you can find all your craft items right here! Love supporting local business and would rather go there than any other big name stores. The staff are always friendly and I always find what Im looking for!

The store is a bit dingy, but I have never found a craft store that has as much supplies as this store does. And this store is the one that there other stores are supplied from. So if they do not have the item on the floor, and you give them a couple minutes they will get it from the back for you.

Texas Art always has the largest selection of supplies. I started shopping here in 2000 searching for materials for an architectural design class. 17 years later, Im shopping for scrapbook supplies to make sure wedding memories last a lifetime. The staff is helpful, and Im never disappointed!

Ive been going there since I was a kid. They still have great people who know their stuff. Great selection of crafts and supplies for any type of artist. Great kids items as well! Prices are comparable to online buying by the time you throw in shipping. Overall, a great place to shop.

Yeah, maybe the prices can seem a bit high -- if youre comparing to mail order. The staff here has never been rude and is always willing to help -- you just need to ask. They have almost everything you could possibly need or want under one roof, in an orderly fashion. Perfect.

A wonderful experience its not the biggest art supply in the world, that I have to say has to be in New York City in The arts District. It is a six-story building, full of art supplies from the first floor to the very top. But no matter how BIG that one is, TX AS is AMAZING!!

Went to Texas Art Supply to buy some art supplies for school and they helped me choose high quality items that would last me a while. I found everything I needed. It cost me less than expected since I got to use my Student Discount, thank you TEXAS ART SUPPLY!

I"ve bought a lot of stuff here for partners. Ok prices, great variety. They dont give their employees any types of raises or bonuses. They recycle all the metal that is scrap and share that. The hell?
