After this place changed from AA Supermarket to Hmart, things have continuously been improved. I say if you are not satisfied one time give it another chance you might change your mind. This Hmart has upgraded their flooring, the fish tanks, shelves and the ready to eat food court in a very short time frame. The cleanliness of this supermarket is heads and tails over the competing Asian supermarkets on Bellaire. They always have specials and during their protracted Grand Opening they gave out a lot of gifts and had many promotions. Definitely come here for fresh seafood and Korean foodstuffs.

Nice and convenient, but not quite as good as the one on Blalock in terms of cleanliness and quality. That said, this store has three redeeming qualities in my mind: 1) They sell quality pre-cut sashimi cubes, perfect for homemade chirashi! 2) Their ground pork is coarse-ground, which among all the grocery stores in town is the only one that successfully approximates the texture of cleaver-chopped pork for dumplings, meatloaf, etc. 3) Their Chinese BBQ counter, a carryover from the previous owner, is the best in town IMO. Try the roast pork (crispy skin)!

H Mart has the freshest fish you can find. Everyday the have different music whether its Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, American. Love the ambiance and new design. I see a lot of polite youngsters. It doesnt have all the restaurants that the other store has but overall they prepare the main dishes. Some items are a bit pricey but for the comfort in knowing they stand by the word then its all worth it. I love their demo days cause I get to try foods that I wouldnt even attempt to buy...it sorta opens your mind to all the many possibilities. Love it!

They sell you dead fish with the price of a live one. Shoppers need to beware of this scam at this HMart produce area. The workers will try to use the dead fish when you order the live one. You have to witness the entire process of the worker use to net to pick the live fish up. Otherwise, they will swap out the dead fish to you when they see you not paying attention to them. I caught them doing this me on my previous visit. Totally disappointed and will not come back to a place where workers are not honest.

This location is pretty clean, has a good selection of Korean food and drinks. The store is busy and usually filled with people. The poorly designed parking lot doesnt help but thats not really their fault. Inside youll find a ridiculous amount of snacks, facial cleansing masks, asian fruits and happiness. If youre looking to make that Korean Bibimap, or take on the task of cooking Korean BBQ with your friends, this is the spot to find all the items youll need. Grab some soju while youre there.

I dont want to give any rate this store. They had systematic problem and couldnt pay with credit card but kept suggestions swipe the card for me and other customers. As a result, my card blocked by the bank and didnt have a manager who could solve the problems. Though I got bothering them and had to handle it my bank account and others and reported to the customer service, I didnt get any responses from them.Dont go there. Find other Asian markets or online.

The cafeteria off to the side is very good. Its confusing where to order your food and where to pay for your food, but the food is very good. The supermarket section is standard for a Chinatown grocery store. Its busy, crowded and every one is moving around slowly. The cashiers are quick though and Ive never had an issue with ridiculous lines or waiting, which is great since this supermarket is always super busy. I come here for cheap produce and sundubu.

Great H Mart. This is a newer location. As it is located in the a Chinese section, this location has a selection tuned more to the needs of its local clientele than you might find at other H Marts. Doesnt have a very extensive food court like some other H Marts, but that is a function of its space limitations...this location certainly feels smaller than some of its sisters stores. All in all, great place...now we need one of these in north Houston!

I come here every couple of weeks for sashimi. In the back of the store in the seafood section they sell excellent sashimi. Its good quality and definitely cheaper than a sushi or poke restaurant. Also, their spices and seasonings are cheaper than a normal grocery store, even for non-asian ones. If youve ever lived in China, Korea, or Japan, youll find things you miss. You can also find other things from Vietnam and Thailand as well.

Great place to find a variety of Asian grocery items and fresh, inexpensive produce. The store also has a nice selection of Asian-style products for kitchen and bathroom, good prepared food, and a bakery recently added in October 2016. Theyre big enough to also carry most of the things youd expect in a "regular" supermarket here in Houston, but there can be exceptions - e.g. last time I visited they didnt have raisins.

i was so excited to hear an h mart opened up in Chinatown, but its only ok. i used to go to the h mart out in Jersey and its way better than this one. this one looks like a grocery store. the h mart is Jersey had a lot more than just grocery, they had a cafeteria, a salon, a high end beauty store and a few other stores in it. it seemed more like a center than a grocery store there. Disappointed in this one.

The grocery is good but the taste of Korean food court in there is terrible. Too much MSG in the food and expensive as well. Tous Les Jours Korean Bakery just opened in there but it was not as good as I thought. I thought it would be the same taste as other Tous Les Jours Korean Bakery in GA but the breads are too salty. I dont know how they make that taste. They have no clue.

Employees could be better trained for customer service quality control. Talked to one employee that was super helpful when I was trying to get a pot down from a high shelf - he even checked the price and tried to see if we could get a deal. On the same day, I tried to talk to someone else about other colors in a frying pan, and he just brushed me off right then and there.

H Mart offers a massive selection of fresh fruits, veggies and meats at reasonable prices. I love that it smells and looks clean, all the merchandise is handsomely organized and that the cashiers are fast and courteous. The selection does lean more Korean and Japanese so I have to make an extra stop at Viet Hoa for more obscure Chinese/Vietnamese goodies.

Decent product selections but people working there are unfriendly and unhelpful. I actually got help from a fellow shopper. Dont even bother with their food sampling.. if you sample a tiny piece and would like a second piece to make final buying decision, they would down right refuse giving it to you. That really helped my shopping decision. A big fat No!

Best market in Chinatown! Has a mix of ingredients from many different asian countries, focusing on mainly Korean, Japanese and Chinese food items. Well kept and organized. Love their seasoned butcher and their fresh seafood. The one in Katy is still the best one because of the foodcourt but this one is the best in the area.
