I went to Casa de Novia last Sat w/ two of my bridesmaid since this is the only store I found online that carries Vera Wang Gemma dress in Houston. This is the second bridal shop I’ve visit since I got engaged. I first went to Nordstrom Wedding Suite. The ladies over there were extremely sweet and helpful. Over at Casa de Novia, I had Sara Gruner as my consultant. She is extremely rude and impatient and made the whole experience very unpleasant. All three of us walked out of the shop feeling very disrespected and rushed. I arrived about 10min early before my 1430 appointment and told Sarah that my budget is about $10,000 when she asked me. She grabbed the VW Gemma dress I had requested and told me to go to one side of the shop to try it on. I politely asked her if I can browse through other VW gowns in the shop and she said: ok. I pulled out two VW dresses and the first thing she said was: those are about 12,000 to 14,000. It is out of your budget. We were all a little shocked to hear that but I just put the two gowns back. I went on and picked couple more than is under $10,000 after I confirmed with her the price before I put them on. The whole time I was trying on the gowns, she put on a really bad attitude and didn’t offer any suggestions. My bridesmaid tried to take 2 pictures (front and back) for me while I had the dresses on but they couldn’t because Sara rushed me to take them off. Later on, I went to the other side of the shops to see other designers’’ gowns. Again she just had to tell me “this dress is out of your budget”. I was very annoyed at that point and asked her: can I still try it on just to see how it looks and get an idea so that I might be able to find similar design that might cost less”? She said “ok”. I then tried on about 2 more gowns with the exact same bad attitude from her. After I got done trying all the gowns, sara wrote down the name of the two dresses that I tried on and was within my $10,000 budget. I had to ask her for the name of the one gown that I clearly expressed the most interest/like but cost $12,500. The whole time we were in the shop (about one hour), she didn’t offer once if we need anything, or suggest any accessories or sash. I didn’t even think about the sash until I was about to leave the shop and saw those on display and really hoped that I could have put the sash or belt on while I had the dresses on. By this time, Sara has already disappeared. We looked through the accessories collection on our own and asked another lady the cost of those. This is an extremely UNPLEASANT experience and probably the worst customer service I’ve had received so far in a high end store (I am talking about the overall shopping experience including stores like Chanel, Hermes, Neiman Marcus etc). Needless to say, I will NOT ever go back to this store again. Even if it is the only store that carries Vera Wang as claimed by Sara. I rather fly all the way to NYC if I have to to avoid another experience like this. My friends recommended Joan Pillow Bridal and Ivory Bridal Artelier where they received excellent service and got their gowns. I will write reviews on those two after my appointments.

I purchased my Monique Llhuillier wedding gown here for my March wedding. I fell in love with MLs dresses after visiting a few bridal salons and trying on dozens of different designers/styles of dresses. I think Casa is one of the few stores in Houston that carries ML and Vera Wang. Carmen was my consultant and I couldnt have asked for a better person to help me find my dream dress. She was patient and honest, never pushy and always gave me useful and helpful feedback. I ended up ordering my dress at the ML trunk show and was able to get a small discount. My dress arrived on time and fit perfectly. Their in house alteration charges a flat rate of $750. I thought this was really steep considering I needed hemming, bustle and bra cups sewn in. and nothing else done. After going in for 3-4 fittings and asking them to remake my bustle. I felt this price was worth it. It gave me a peace of mind knowing someone very experienced was taking good care of it and they were willing to do whatever it takes to make it perfect. Management was very professional and responsive. My mom had a disagreement with the alteration lady at my second fitting appointment, I ended up letting them know about our unexpected experience and received a call right away with a sincere apology. Although I didnt have a negative experience at any other bridal salons in the Houston area. I would recommend Casa and Carmen in a heartbeat. The dresses here are more high end, but their service reflects that. Their customer service is very attentive and genuine.

I had the absolutely pleasure of working with Casa de Novia Bridal for an editorial shoot last fall. I sent them our general inspiration and they chose a stunner on the first pull. Their selection and atmosphere cant be beat. If youre looking for an elegant gown and a comfortable atmosphere for your intimate entourage, this is the place to go.
