Buying a used car is never fun; you always have concerns and questions. We found GoCarGuys doing a vehicle search here. Drove from Lafayette, LA to Houston, TX to see the vehicle. In route, we did talk with Ahmed, the owner. He was clear that the car was a "salvage" title and through internet searches, this seems to be their speciality. This is a "working mans" car lot; nothing fancy (although they are planning a move in a few months to a new facility). No pushy sales. All documents were made available for the vehicle (the type of accident, a complete parts list used to repair vehicle, etc). GoCarGuys even gives you a warranty period to have your vehicle inspected by your own mechanic, and will repair to that mechanics specs, if necessary. Depending on your warranty, he even picks up the vehicle. We purchased a 2006 Honda Accord with 35,000 miles. The car "looked" great and "drove" great but we still brought to our own auto people. We had a body inspection done, which passed. Our body guy said there were a few things hed have done different but overall, the work was very good. We then had the mechanic run the 100+ point check on the engine. Passed with excellent marks. The mechanic told us we had the BEST Honda engine in that vehicle. Our body guy rated the car about $800 less than what we paid but said with low miles, that would add to the value. The DMV rated the car at several thousands ABOVE what we paid. We are completely satisfied with our vehicle purchase, completely satisfied with the service we received, and would buy from GoCarGuys again. I am adding this because of a couple of negative reviews regarding salvage titles: One thing to note: do your research on "salvage" vehicles. There are a lot of different things to consider, especially values. We figured our car was about 20% below "clean title" value, so are happy with what we paid BUT we had one all of our research. ALSO, check your states requirements needed to register a salvage title. In Louisiana, you will need to have an inspection done by your local sheriff or state trooper (some city units can do this, too). You will need a parts list and what was done to the vehicle. This is where Ahmeds customer service came in handy. We did NOT know this and were trying to get the car legal for our youngest son to take ownership of. Ahmed rushed on a Friday afternoon to get the necessary paperwork to the Title office and we completed the paperwork at 4pm. Big shout out there! Also, in Louisiana, you will need that parts list and list of work done for DMV and insurance company. Also note...most insurance companies will not fully cover a salvage title so check beforehand. With all that said, wed do business again with Ahmed!

I recently bought a car from here, and found the experience to be satisfactory. The first time I drove by with my wife, we just kept driving because it is basically a bunch of cars parked in a grass field. However if you know what you are getting in to than you can find some killer deals. Most of their cars have salvage titles, which means they once had enough damage to stop the insurance company from paying for their repair, though some have clean titles and may even still be under factory warranty. I bought a (clean title) nissan altima that had been in a collision, but they were forth coming with the work that had been done, and the car checked out. Some of their cars with flood damage dont look like they have been cleaned at all, and you should plan on getting any car purchased here detailed if you want it to be new car clean. i would suggest getting a carfax and having an outside mechanic go over the car before you purchase to check everything out. Also their shop doesnt do mainenance type repairs, like new tires, or brake pads, so have a mechanic check those too. Over all, if you understand what you are buying (a crashed or flooded car) than i think this is a good place to look for a deal. but dont expect to get a car from a show room at a dealership. Also i cant speak too much about the reliability of their assesment on the cars because i just bought mine. if it breaks down because of something they didnt tell me about, than i will be back here posting a warning to anyone thinking about going to Go Car Guys. We have had our car now for 4 months and are very pleased. There have been no surprises as far as parts failing or anything like that. We had to replace a few parts, but we knew about them from our mechanic. So far i am very impressed with the car we bought here, and would deffinatly look here again, however as i said before do your homework and always try for a lower price since they dont offer any of the "perks" of a larger dealership, like oil changes, warranty, repairs. Especially do this if the car is a salvage title since you wont be able to get an extended factory warranty. I will update in a few more months and hopefuly my car is still running great. One year out and the car is still running very well. There have been no unexpected surprises "that i would blame on the dealership".

I bought a 2000 Nissan Maxima from Car Guys on Saturday, May 9th, 2015. I looked at several vehicles on the lot before arriving on this particular Maxima. I was already driving a 2003 Toyota Echo with 320,000 miles on it (it still was in perfect mechanical condition, just ugly), so I was not concerned much with the higher mileage on the majority of the cars. This Maxima had 29,000 miles and the body was 99% perfect. The interior was about 99% perfect as well. It was a base model GXE with a Bose Radio upgrade. I have owned a 2000, 2002 and a 2003 Nissan Maxima before, all SE models, so I was very familiar and comfortable with the car. At first I was unaware that the vehicle was a Salvage title and was extremely excited about the low mileage and willing to pay the above value asking price. As we are doing the paperwork I am informed about it being salvage. I had already paid half the asking price down to hold the car (which they made sure to tell me was NOT REFUNDABLE) while I went to the bank to get the remainder. I had only planned on spending $4,000 for a car but when I saw this I figured it would be close to paying cash for a new car. This newly introduced fact that it was salvage titled completely deflated me and almost set me in a panic. However, Ahmed explained the situation and showed me the insurance website that lists the photos etc. of the vehicle before repair. The damage was extremely minor. The vehicle being 15 years old, values are too low to justify the expensive parts it required. Also, 15 year old cars with extremely low miles in almost showroom shape, are rare and more difficult to place an actual value on. Luckily I understand the way automobile insurance works as well as the automotive sales industry. I was able to negotiate a new lower price, albeit still over current normal market values, add a limited warranty and sold them my car at what I was asking for it as part of the deal. So, since I was paying cash, it had extremely low mileage, the condition was spectacular and I can drive it for 10 years or more; I would say, at this point, I got a good deal from Car Guys. I will keep periodically checking in to update my experience with ownership of the car and if they hold to the warranty.
