I am disappointed to say the least that we were given a run around this afternoon regarding nearly $5000 in merchandise we bought several weeks ago at Bassett Furniture, 15305 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX. After waiting several weeks, as expected, Bassetts delivery dispatch phoned us yesterday, the customary 24 hours in advance, to tell us they would be delivering our merchandise today between 12 and 3. At 11 the deliverymen phoned my husbands cellphone and said they would arrive in 5 minutes. My husband was well over 5 minutes away. When they werent able to wait until my husband could rush home we were told we needed to reschedule. In other words, they didnt mean they would be able to deliver between 12 and 3, they meant they COULDNT deliver after 1. When we set this delivery interval between 12 and 3 yesterday, my husband asked if they could deliver on the later side of that 3 hour interval. They noted his request on the file. Yet, when they attempted to deliver they were 1 hour early and they would deliver then or not at all. Because of the effort my husband and I both made to reschedule our afternoon schedule for this delivery, I was extremely upset and disappointed to not receive it. As a result, I phoned Bassetts customer service person who reminded herself and attempted to convince me that "they do everything they can to work with the customer." I told her those were hollow words, and told her that because of my disappointment with their broken promise of delivering today I would like to refuse shipment of the bookcases and cancel our order. She told me their contract states that we would be charged 33% of the total price of the bookcases if we didnt accept the shipment. I am less than satisfied with this company and their policy. Usually this would have been less of a problem but at the moment our schedules are very tight, and today the dispatch cannot give us a delivery time for next Monday more specific than "sometime Monday". We should have realized when they required payment in full prior to delivery that they dont go far to "work with their customers."

Do not buy from this particular store. I purchased a bedroom suite that was not delivered as promised. After the second delay I canceled the order, which was standard warehouse stock items, not custom. I made a mistake of paying for the furniture with a check that was cashed on 12/17/2015. As of today, the store still refuses to refund my money after 14 phone calls and letters. After contacting their corporate headquarters I still have not heard about the status of my refund. Buyer beware if you pay cash for any merchandise as this store as they will refuse to refund your money.

Purchased over $1000 dollars in their store for bedroom furniture and was told I would have all of this delivered when I moved into my new apartment. This was not only untrue, but will now leave me sleeping on a floor for two weeks until the shipment gets in, unless I can cancel the order. Which couldnt happen over the phone because no one around knew how to do that! I will do their job and contact the other office and see if I can have this sorted out... fyi they dont care if and when you get your furniture...theyre just trying to make a sale!

Purchased a custom dining set...problems from day one. Damaged table on first delivery. Chairs not level. Second delivery date never showed up. Lost a day of work b/c of this error. Replaced table with another unsatisfactory table. Sent chairs in to be releveled...on scheduled delivery date but they were never placed on the truck. Second delivery date when chairs came back they were still unlevel. We had 4 tables delivered over the course of a year...finally got a refund. Constant scheduling of deliveries and pick ups..WHAT A HASSLE!!!!

Very nice and higher quality furnishings. For upholstered items like couches..love seats etc..you have options in fabrics and colors even styles so its semi custom..so if you need just the right look..odds are you can get it here. However you will pay a premium for it and will wait 30 days or so for it to be built.The service is great and the delivery team was top notch. We had a couch built for that reason and love it..but for items where I am more open to mass produced styles the cost was not justifiable.

I shouldve read these reviews before going to this store. Beautiful furniture of course and they will bend over backwards to sell but when are you going to actually get your furniture? Thats another story. 30 days or less is going to turn out to be 70 at a minimum (and thats taking their word for it). If you have empty rooms and think theyre going to get filled within this phony time frame, think again. Maybe the most disappointing part is that theyre not really even apologetic about this practice.

I almost didnt order from Bassett because of these bad reviews. So glad I did! They are a bit pricey but the 30% off Veterans day sale was great. We bought a leather sectional which is exactly what I was looking for and could only find at Bassett. The sales rep, Lisa, was very helpful and not pushy. I told her I was skeptical about the 30 day delivery and she promised me delivery in 2 weeks. The couch showed up right on time, first thing this morning. Im heading back there for more stuff...

In the middle of a bad experience with this store. First, they messed up my delivery time after saying it would be morning as requested, called to come in the afternoon when I told them I couldnt be there. When they did arrive the expensive "custom furniture" I had waited almost a month for had the wrong seats, fabric not the leather I had paid $70 per chair upgrade for! Still waiting for contact, an apology or better still, my furniture!

Store is nice . Furniture is nice . Sales people are nice while making a sale. The sale is made ! Customer service is terrible. Sales people say one thing and the opp. is true. 3 months to deliver. The delivery setup is a nightmare . My wife lost a days work only not to have the chair delivered on that day. They did refund the delivery fee. I would have gladly paid the fee if they would have just kept their word. Never going back.

We have purchased a bedroom set, a couch and 2 living room chairs from the Sheridan Drive location. Very friendly staff, very good quality furniture and our deliveries were on time. We have owned the furniture set for over 5 years and just purchased the other pieces in April 2014. The 2014 ordered arrived within the 4 week window that Bassett said it would. Overall very good experience with this company.

Everything was top notch! Would definitely recommend Bassett to all of my friends! The sales staff was super friendly and patient when I was indecisive on fabric choices, the delivery guys did a great job and did not leave a mess even though they delivered during a massive snow storm, and the furniture is all as gorgeous as it was in the store. Amazing experience, you wont be sorry choosing them!
