An awesome experience! Three weeks ago, my husband and I went to Country Meat Market to buy grass-fed meat for a 3-month supply, which is what we have been doing for a while now. Our plans changed when we ran into the owner, Lou Chadwick, who mentioned that he could do a custom-made deal for our family for a 12-month supply which would give us a huge discount. Initially I was skeptical, and even concerned that my husband seemed taken with the idea. However, when Lou took time to sit down with us and discussed our family consumption of meat etc, we decided to give this a try. Lou then took us to the storage area, showed us the three quarters of the beef we would get together with the extra chicken, pork, lamb and the bacon he would give us as part of the discount. I come from Australia, and I have been missing the Australian Lamb for more than two years, when Lou found this out he immediately said he could get us Australian Lamb. I jumped for joy! However, he said I will have to wait for a couple of days so he could order it in. We agreed to go back on Friday that week to pick up the lamb. We then watched the whole process of the weighing of the beef, cutting of the meat and participated in the labeling of the parcels they made. The staff was so efficient and fun to be with, and Lou was very much a part of the team. In fact, this was my first experience in this kind of setting, I found it quite interesting. I must also mention Lous free gift of the Char Grill that he gave us with the deal, that we use almost every other day in enjoying the best meat. Well, it was when we came home and stacked the meat in the freezer that we realized we did not have room for the lamb. So we called Lou and he immediately wanted to send his staff with a brand new freezer so we had enough room for the lamb, but we declined as we did not think it was right to hassle him or his staff. However, the following morning when we checked the meat it was still soft, and so I panicked and rang Lou, who then assured us that it was quite normal for the meat to take a couple of days to freeze in that large quantity, but he suggested that if I was concerned that we accept his offer of loaning us a brand new freezer to split the meat into two freezers enabling better air circulation. His staff delivered the brand new freezer within the hour, and we transferred some of the meat into it. We just dropped in today to pick up the best Australian lamb (50lbs), saw a full size lamb weighed, cut into chops, stew meat, ribs and shanks, exactly the way I wanted it. Most of all, what blessed our hearts, is the way Lou delights in doing all this for us. He is an incredible businessman, a unique and rare one who truly values his customers. The least we can do for Lou, and his wonderful staff, is to share our delightful experience with the rest of the community, so that you too can find out for yourself. Thank you, and well done Lou. Keep it up for always!!!! Wayne & Sandya Fowler

I have shopped at Country Meat Market for many years & to address Mr. Rims post below... I drive all the way from Burleson to buy my meat from the Country Meat Market. Being in sales myself for the past 13 years, of course they try to upsell you when you walk in the door, thats part of owning your own business. They do offer many packages in the paper & they do suit many peoples needs, but if you want to switch things out & change some of the items they are willing to do that & if it costs more, then it does, but it is & has always been an excellent shopping experience!! Ive even taken my neighbors out there & now they shop there too! I bought a half side of beef approx 3-4 years ago & today, I took back 45 lbs of meat that I had not used, as it had freezer burn. They replaced it all pound for pound. There is no other place that stands behnd there product like that! They have the best customer service, hands down, as well as the best meat!!! There isnt another Meat Market, or Grocery Store that will stand behind there products like that!!! Im highly impressed & will continue to shop at Country Meat Market & will continue to recommend it to all of my friends. One last thing, I chose the meat, and was back in the kitchen when it was cut, packed, etc. It is a very cool experience!!! Check it out!!!

Look, Im a real person, many of these reviews are from the shop itself, thats why they are so high and essentailly lies. The place has good meat, but its expensive. Do not bother with a package deal or their ad in the paper, once you get there and have a "consultation", they will instantly start trying to upsell you to some other package. Your best bet is to saty away from packages and just buy what you need and pay it. We did a small package, and when we got home and weighed it, we realized they had left out about $150 worth of meat (I understand cut loss, we took that out). They essentially forgot the other side of the cow we agreed to in the deal. I called and they kind of made it right with some additional rib eyes and chciken, but still the whole experience smelled of swindling. When it was all said and done, even with the adjustment, we still ended up paying almost double for steaks comapred to a decent sale at albertsons, and I could not tell you that the stuff from this place was any better quaility. Stay away, and for sure stay away from any of the "packages". You watch, you come in for a pack, and it wont be anything like their ad or phone conversation told you. RUN AWAY.

RIPOFF!!! I saw the ad in the paper and visited this location to buy their "special" as advertised. They pulled the used car salesman bait and switch routine and pressured me into buying a different package. I foolishly trusted these swindlers and ended up getting duped. The meat was overpriced and of poor quality. You are far better off buying your beef from Costco or a reputable butcher. The select quality stuff they sell at most grocery stores is better priced and better quality than these flim flam men are pushing. I will never shop here again and I advise anyone who is not an idiot to avoid this place. Let my mistake be a lesson for the rest of you. Wise up and find a better meat supplier. These guys deserve to go out of business. And good riddance when they do.

What a great place!! We recently moved from colorado and were looking for a place to buy all our meat. Well, we found it! As soon as you walk in, you feel part of the team. They have always greeted me and are instantly there to help. I even got a tour where they hang the beef and butcher it! We got heart steaks specially cut for us for valentines day and my husband even said they are the best steaks he has ever had. We go thru a lot of meat in a month, so the deals they have are perfect for us. The people at country meat just know what I actually need without making me buy too much. I also love that they have seasonings and sauces right there. And the frozen veggie prices are better than the stores. Definitely go to this place for all your meat and even sides! Amazing!!
