Amazing place! My kids and I have been going for a couple of years now. They are a non-profit organization for kids. Every kid who enters this facility gets to choose 5 used books and 1 brand new book.. each month! Parents can choose up to 25 used books per 6 months period. Teachers/home educators can choose unlimited amounts of teaching resources from the teachers lounge. They also have books for adults for an extremely low price. Im talking books like Shakespeare, Stephen King, etc., for $.50 each! Doesnt get any better than that.

This place is an amazing non-profit organization. Every kid 18 and under gets 5 free NEW books a month from the childrens section. Teachers get ten free NEW books a month from the childrens section a month as well. They do have teen and adult books for great prices. Those books might be a little beat up but are in good condition most of the time. They take monetary donations that go to getting new books to give away. Donated books end up for sale as well. Great volunteers! I would recommend this place with a passion!

I came here looking for just a book but I ended up making out like a bandit. I found a 3 piece Faulkner set, a John Steinbeck classic, and a couple of J.D. Salinger classics. All for under 3 dollars. I couldnt believe it when they told me the price. If youre looking for a book for your child or for yourself, you best look here first. They also take donations.

The staff at Books Are Gems are amazing people, not only do they provide all the tools for you to strive as a volunteer but theyre also friendly indeed to any individual from adults to kids. Overall this place is where you would want to volunteer for any kind of activity.

I am so happy there is such a place as Books are Gems here in El Paso. This non-profit really cares about the children in our community, gifting books to children monthly. Everyone there is so nice, and like the reading times on Saturdays..

My kids love coming from here. Its a great place to get book that your kids get excited for. The best part is that kids pick them out and can take them home. The staff are great they answer any questions the kids have about any book.

Good place to take the Lil book worms in the family. They get a cho6of 1 new book and 5 used good condition books. They can spend all the time reading. Nice quite Lil place. Parents can purchase books for pennies!!
