I went in with my friend to watch her get her first tattoo a few days ago, and I could not believe how we were treated. The artist was incredibly condescending, and kept haughtily calling us "girly" and "dear". My friend wanted a small word on her forearm, and the artist made it incredibly clear that he wanted it to be done quickly so we would leave. She asked him to redraw the stencil to fix a letter (which only took about 5 minutes). When he brought it back he said, and I quote "you better like this because I am absolutely not drawing it again. I have a 6:30 appointment, and youre stressing me out." At first I thought he was just messing with her, but he was not. My friend is very soft-spoken, and I was worried that he was pressuring her into saying she liked it. Obviously, a small tattoo like the one she got would not be such a big deal to a man covered in tattoos, but this was her first one and it was special to her. After reassuring me that she really did like it, the tattoo itself took about 2 minutes. My friend is happy with the way it turned out, but Im still annoyed with how insanely patronizing this guy was. I get how the "typical girls getting a tattoo just to get one" is probably an annoying and all-too-real stereotype, but we were still respectful and paying customers. Dont make my friend feel like an idiot just because she wants something that is going to be on her body FOREVER to be perfect.

I just got my belly button re-pierced there last night, and they did a wonderful job. The reason I took it out in the first place was because the first time I had it pierced it got infected after I swam in a lake, and then started to migrate and eventually was only being held on by a small piece of skin. Anyway, my piercer was Dorian, and she was absolutely wonderful. She knew that I had had problems in the past and made very sure to thoroughly go over after care procedures and gave me a business card to call with any questions I had. I trusted her opinions and her judgment because she had a navel piercing as well, and Im definitely going back in January for my nostril piercing. Piercings are $25, which includes the jewelry and the after care solution. Most places in Denton are going to charge you more, a lot that Ive been to are $50 or $60, but dont let that old adage "you get what you pay for" fool you. The shop is immaculate and extremely organized, and the artists are professional but friendly. I had a piercing done at another shop in Denton that charges the same price, and trust me, the price of their piercings is the ONLY thing they had in common. I never felt it was a "get in, get it over with, get out" kinda thing, and I would recommend this shop to anyone. Again, my piercer was Dorian, Im not sure how the others are, but she was great.

Had a fantastic experience getting my first tattoo! Lucas was so patient with me to make sure I got just what I wanted. His work was great too! I love my new tattoo! Highly recommended! Clean store and very friendly artists. Thanks Aces! UPDATE: I returned to Aces yesterday to get my second tattoo. After such a wonderful experience the first time, I was very excited to go there again. Im sad to say, I did not have a great experience. I am very happy with the result of my tattoo, but the service was highly lacking. We waited for nearly an hour and 45 minutes for a very simple design which took maybe 10 minutes to complete. The shop was not overly busy to suggest we would have to wait that long. The artist seemed to be more interested in visiting with the other guys in the shop than helping me. He did not introduce himself and did not appear as friendly to me as he did other clients. I did email a picture of what I wanted for my design, and admittedly, I did not send it correctly so that took a little extra time. But it took him 30 minutes to tell me it didnt come through meanwhile, hanging out in the back while we waited. I do have to give a shout out to Lucas though. He remembered me from my first visit and said hi to my husband and me. If I decide to get another tattoo in the future, I will visit another shop in Denton.

I got a wonderful piercing here a few years ago so when I decided I wanted a tattoo I knew exactly where to go. I went to Aces for my very first tattoo the other day and I was extremely nervous. My design was relatively small and simple, but I got it on my stomach, which is a painful location. I also have no tolerance for pain. The artist I spoke to, Joe, made sure to get me an appointment as soon as he was available. He listened to my request and the design he came up with was EXACTLY what I wanted. I was so happy! Everyone here is very polite and supportive. I was not taking the pain very well but everyone was patient, checked in on me, and did their best to distract me from the pain and make the process as smooth and comfortable as possible. I left like a 40% tip because I was SO impressed!! Ive gotten piercings at other places and gone with friends to other parlors, but Aces is by far the most welcoming. The artwork is also amazing! I have some friends who have extremely beautiful works of art on their bodies from Aces. This is my ONLY pick for any tattoos or piercings. Wonderful place!! :-)

My friend and I came in as walk ins to get a tattoo. We were not greeted by anyone but soon figured out to put our name on a list they had at the front desk. We sat there for 3 hours as we watched others being helped before us. Tanner, who seemed to be in charge of the front area, walked past us multiple times without ever offering us help or wondering why we had been sitting on their couch all day. Tanner did absolutely nothing to help us. After multiple people had come in after us and had talked to an artist and had their tattoo done we finally spoke to someone, who was not Tanner, and got a stencil drawn up and our tattoos done in an impressively timely manner. My friend and I love our tattoos! The artists are very professional and great at their job and the pricing is fair but the business needs to work on their initial customer service. Tanner needs to be talked to if not fired.

Ive gotten 8 piercings done here in the past few months, and I am completely happy with every one if them. Every piercer there is friendly, and they have helped me tremendously with every step if the healing process. The best advice I have ever received, the best jobs I have ever paid for, and some of the friendliest people I have ever met. Do not go anywhere else for any piercings in Denton. You will most likely regret bit choosing the best piercing parlor in north Texas. If anyone is curious, the piercings were rook, tragus-antitragus (optional industrial) by Dorian; eyebrow, septum, medusa, and conch done by Adria; and scaffold (industrial) done by Jade.
