I have a very complex prescription with astigmatism and prisms, compounded by some neurological issues related to balance and focus. 5 years ago I was unable to get glasses made that didnt make me dizzy. I was referred to Dr. Meltzer at that time, but he was very far away from my house. I went and got glasses that worked. Fast forward to 2015 and I had 2 highly recommended ophthalmologist offices credit back my insurance because I just hated the glasses they made me. They looked embarrassing each time even though the light weight material. I was dizzy wearing them too. They even tried remaking the lenses. I couldnt remember Dr. Meltzers name or I would have gone back to him. So I bit the bullet and started calling around. It took all day but I found him. And I just picked up 2 pairs of glasses, 1 for computer and the other for driving. I have a hard time at TV distance but I dont care.....I cant do bifocals because they make me too dizzy. He worked with me and the glasses are really good. One ends where the other begins and they are light weight. The lady that works the retail side said Dr. Meltzer oversees the lens lab there and is VERY particular. I think that is why I am only able to get my glasses here. They were not cheap, but they were worth it. I am a very frugal person and even when people say, "you get what you pay for" there are many, many areas in life where "ok" is good enough. I buy Hyundai, not Mercedes. However, this investment was worth it, every penny. Worth driving an hour too!

I had my first appointment with Dr. David W Meltzer today. He was very professional in every way. He was knowledgeable, courteous, helpful, and had a great bedside manner. He took the time to discuss my symptoms with me - I mean he sat down and really listened, then alleviated my concerns. He reminded me of an old-fashioned country doctor, (except this one has the latest technology, too !) I was very impressed, and entirely satisfied. Note:my appointment was for Dr. Meltzers Ophthalmology practice, not Lenspro Optical, located at the same address.

Its important to know they are in Professional Bldg 2 of TX Health. I was a first time patient. Steve the COT did an excellent job explaining things to me with pictures and booklets. He was so patient w/me. Dr. Meltzer was spot on and help me get into contacts. I had tried them as a teenager 12 yrs ago and couldnt stand them. But doctor set me up with some samples of soft lenses and I seem to be adjusting very well. I will definitely be back and recommend all I know!
