I have little princess feet that are very hard to find comfortable shoes for, and it goes without saying that finding CUTE comfortable shoes is even harder. Im not even talking about price! But the people at Karavel are amazing. They understand feet and their peculiarities, they know what styles and brands best suit those peculiarities, and they take the time to get to know YOUR feet. They have a wide selection of shoes in almost every color, size, and style, and they specialize in European shoes. So if you buy shoes from them, you can walk down the street feeling spiffy and avant-garde. Now, you wont find Christian Louboutin stilettos there, I dont mean that kind of European! And it may be that the cute shoes youve set your heart on dont come in your size or dont work for your feet, or that the cute shoes that DO work dont come in the color you want. But thats just shoe reality, isnt it? Give them a try, if you have particular feet!

Have lived in Austin 19 years and been buying shoes here for 16, from when they used to carry hard-to-fit baby shoes. Our whole family has D or multi-E width feet, pro- or supinated feet, and/or metatarsalgia needing inserts or orthotics. Lousy feet need good shoes. Karavel is the only store in central Texas to carry certain brands, and the largest selection of special needs footwear in the region. Yes, you DO have to try them on, and for that you need a brick and mortar store. Their permanent, professional sales staff is very attentive and we have been working with the same couple of salesmen for years They know US by name and know our sizes and buying history. They know which shoes and products will work for us and which wont. I dont know any other store with this level of service. Its like service used to be in the 1960s and before. Its a real slice of "old" Austin and I hope they are here well into the future.

Had a great experience at the location. The gentleman that assisted me was able to fit me with a pair of powerstep insoles. I ended up purchasing them as well as a pair of new balance sneakers and they have been great for my feet. I havent had any knee or hip pain since purchasing them. I have to walk in and out of a warehouse at work and we have all concrete floors so you can image it can be painful if youre not wearing the correct shoe. I appreciated that the gentleman who helped me was knowledgeable while guiding me through the process of find the right shoe to fit my needs. I would recommend this store and I will be a returning customer.

I found out about Karavel while looking for sales locations for Sam Hubbard shoes. John Brack was very helpful and interested in what I was looking for and brought me several options with his thoughts on each about what I could expect. He was pretty much right on the button when I tried on the shoes and I eventually walked out with two pairs. They did not have my size on an item I was interested in (size 13; I get that you cant stock everything) but he said they would be happy to order if I were really interested. I gladly recommend Karavel and plan to return.

I traveled to Karavel from my home in Georgetown. I wear a KAFO and have been struggling in my search for shoes that accommodate my brace. As soon as I walked in, Javier asked me if I had been helped. When I told I hadnt, he sprang into action. I explained my problem and asked for a solution He spent an enormous amount of time with me and I walked with a new pair of shoes that actually fit! I will go back in a heart beat.

Incredible customer service! Mr. Scott was very knowledgeable about which shoes would fit me best in terms of comfort and support for my feet. I mean yea you could maybe find what your looking for online for a little bit cheaper but not by much. That $5 difference makes not difference when you have a welcoming experience at Karavel Shoes! Friendly local business, I would definitely recomend Karavel Shoes and will be back soon!

If you have any kind of orthopedic issues, this is the best shoe store there is. I have disc issues, so orthopedic shoes are a must. Karavel has formal and athletic shoes, but I came here for the latter. Didnt realize athletic shoes could be this comfortable! And none of the shoes here look like they are orthopedic, which is a major plus. Staff is also very attentive and knowledgeable. Keep this Austin business going!

I have been buying shoes from Karavel since I was a little kid. I am 68. It is always my Go To Shoe Store. I only go elsewhere if they dont have what I want. Vivian is my fave but there are a number of excellent sales persons there. Its not a young and trendy place but it IS a comfy place with lots of up to date styles! YAY Karavel!!

Great experience at Karavel Shoes. I came to get fitted for insoles at this location, and left with a pair of Birkenstock insoles. Ive been wearing them for a week and my feet have never felt better. The gentleman who fitted me for them had some great advice, too. I highly recommend this location for your shoe and insole needs.

I just bought a pair of finn-comfort shoes from Karavel. I could not have been happier with the customer service I received. I have never been so carefully fitted for a pair of shoes ... the shoes are just the right ones for my need and they fit like gloves. Thanks Karaval ... Ill shop there again

Great shoe store! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They filled my orthotic prescription.. one of the few places that can. They are great with helping me find athletic shoes that well stabilize my feet and ankles. They also have a great selection of fashionable shoes.. love this store!

This was the best shoe buying experience ever. Mario knew his stuff. He found a pair of shoes for me that I didnt even notice but based on the things I liked and what I was looking for handouts them. I came for one pair, and walked out with two. Great selection and great service.

WOW! Great service and Lonny was the best! My foot has hurt for several years, and It is starting to feel so much better! I work all day on my feet and this is making it better! I never knew how much good shoes could help. I will be bringing my whole family here for shoes from now on!

Attentive and knowledgeable staff. I never feel pressured by the "hard sell" either, which is a big plus. I wear a size 14, so shoe shopping is often a nightmare, but I am always able to find something here. It is definitely my first stop when shoe shopping.
