Heroes and Legacies - What you need to know: Well stocked cigar shop. Multiple options for enjoying your cigars. Great customer service. I am not a regular cigar smoker. However, after dinner at the steakhouse around the corner, my wife and I thought, what the heck. The store is on the 2nd floor behind Barnes and Noble. Knowing little to nothing about cigars other than how to cut them and light them, we went in. When you first walk in, for those not accustomed to smoke filled rooms, you learn right away that you can sit and smoke your cigar there. It being a Friday night, there were a few patrons smoking. There is a second cigar club/lounge that has bigger leather chairs, better televisions. and a fish tank. That lounge I believe requires a membership. The tables and chairs in the outer room/showroom do not. There are also some chairs outside. After looking around for a minute, we walked into the humidor and were frankly a little overwhelmed by the selection. The best I can compare it to is selecting a wine when you don’t know what is what. There are easily over a hundred cigars from which to choose and probably more. If you cannot find one here to suit 1. Your needs 2. Your price range, then chances are you are too particular and should just order online. Which gets me to their customer service. There was a guy standing in there smoking a cigar and looking around, a tall guy with a beard. He immediately noticed the confusion on my face and came over to ask me what I needed. I told him, we weren’t regular cigar smokers, just finished eating, etc. He didn’t sneer and say anything about newbie cigar smokers etc. You know the type I’m talking about, the guy that tells you Guinness only really tastes the best at a pub in Ireland etc. In any event, the salesman was able to help me select two cigars (one for me, one for my wife) that came in under $30 total. Now, you’re thinking ouch, that’s too much for me to pay for cigars. And historically it has been for me too. But as I get older/wiser I find that it’s worth the price to pay a little more for some things. You may not be willing to part with as much and if not, the guy there will be happy to point you in the right direction. After your purchase you have options (other than leaving) there for smoking them. You can sit at the tables inside and enjoy, join their club I guess or sit outside. We chose to sit outside. It was fine, the cigars were a nice cap to a good dinner. And if I ever find myself in need of cigars, I will absolutely go back. I did notice while sitting outside and looking back through the window that virtually any accessory you would need to enjoy cigars is available for purchase.

All of the associates at Heroes & Legacies are willing to assist me when I visit. With such a large selection, determining what the best choices are can be quite challenging, but with superior service, every visit I make to Heroes & Legacies is a memorable visit. Even if you dont use tobacco products, its worth visiting because they stock a variety of unique gifts, including wonderful Lamp Berger scent lamps. By the way, if you want a good cigar be sure to smoke a "Padron 1926 Anniversary Maduro".

In my opinion the ONLY place to go to Austin for your tobacco needs. They have a huge walk in humidor with a very large variety including higher end cigars. Their staff is always nice and knowledgable. They carry my favorite pipe tobacco blend (Black Cauldron) and also my favorite variety of Ashton cigars. I have been going here for the past 3 years and always leave happy though with less cash than I walked in with.

Sporting a large walk in humidor with a good selection of cigars, this is a pretty good location to stock up on cigars. The seating area is a bit cluttered and noisy, but the chairs are nice and outdoor seating is available. The private room (available after paying a significant price for membership) isnt worth the cost. Cluttered and dated. For actually sitting and smoking there are better options nearby.

Good service, friendly staff, pipe tobacco selection is excellent! They carry aromatics, but more english blends... They are the only place in the Austin area that Ive found that actually carries pipe tobacco. I picked out their sweet pastry blend and strawberry fields blend, sweet pastry was great! I have yet to try the latter of the two :) Great tobacconist!

Great selection and great service! This is one of the best humidors in the city with an exceptional selection of cigars and courteous staff. They carry some labels that other tobacconists do not, allowing for you to try something out of the norm or that you had not been made aware of before.

As a fairly new cigar smoker, Taylor was extremely helpful in providing me the information I needed to pick out both a new humidor and 20 tasty cigars to go along with it. Theyve got a huge selection to choose from, and Ill definitely be stopping by on a regular basis from now on.

Great cigar shop, with an outstanding selection and friendly staff. Took the sales guys suggestion and bought a Perdomo Exhibicion. Its so dry that the wrapper cracked and fell apart 5 minutes into the smoke. Hopefully the next cigar is better...

Excellent store with a large walk-in humidor and wide selection. Despite some initial intimidation I felt, the staff was very knowledgeable and beginner-friendly. No question I had went unanswered. I will certainly shop at this store again.

This is a nice shop with a great selection of cigars and generally very helpful staff. I think that they over-value their lounge, though. Make it free and youll attract more clients to come buy more sticks and smoke them while theyre there!
