Not one to like todays modern grocery retailers who care less about what products they sell you versus their profits. But as grocers go, this chain, per industry standards, is a step above some others such as Food Lion - in terms of customer options and goods; but not in pricing which stands to reason given product quality. I do believe that Food Citys pricing & pricing hikes are reasonable across the board regionally as well. I myself, would love to see them adopt the rollback schedule of Walmart but then thats just dreaming, LOL! Regardless, I have spoken with numerous Food City managers, personnel & customers in past several years. Management, store management that is, doesnt have a FIRM grasp on how their employees actually & truly feel about their jobs Ive hear over & over again. Many dissatisfied with, of course, pay rate or lack of a raise within 3 yrs. But many more dissatisfied with number of hours worked compared to rate of pay received. Hence, a concern that can cause higher turnover rates. My biggest pet peeve that truly irks the heck out of me in this Southern U.S. Region is the GLARING & TRULY OBVIOUS TOTAL LACK OF MORE BALANCED DIVERSITY in this chain. On a score of 10 being highest, Food City & Food Lion & Krogers are all FAILURES rating a measly 0.5 - 1.75% in Racial Diversity! This is 2017, not early-1800s the heyday of slavery! Nor even early-to-mid 1900s! So why doesnt this chain hire more citizens of varying races and use its leading status to be a shining star of DIVERSITY IN BUSINESS? Ill tell you why, UNADULTERATED, COMPLETE & TOTAL LACK OF VISION & BRAINS! Not only would higher diversity rates in EVERY store increase their customer base accordingly it would ENSURE HIGHER PROFITS in the region overall. Heck, even corporate management should know this with all their overpriced degrees (but lack of wisdom & intelligence). Overall, management at this store strives to operate a smooth-running business but sorely lacks insight into customer retention & retailing incentives which is clearly evident to a retired Management Consultant - Retail Specialist like moi! Management must also become more aware of how current stocking staff or customers are breaking eggs in many egg cases! Management also needs to control how long food is cooked using the same TOXIC RANCID OIL with no changing it! Or else corporate may begin to experience a slew of CLASS-ACTION LAWSUITS claiming illness or death at hands of eating their fried chicken.

Bad experiences the last couple times shopping at Eastman Road store. The deli which normally has great food food was a source of dissatisfaction both of my recent trips. Bad food and service in the hot food side. Chicken tenders like rubber one trip, and a box full of water and a bone in my chicken and dumplings on my trip today with poor service on both trips. I dont know if management in the deli has changed but service and quality have. Which for me is sad because i really do normally enjoy it. I hope management figures it out soon. I go there instead of other places because of the service and hometown feel and i hope they fix the issues.

We came into the store with our pug puppy because we have noone to look after her at home and we were in there for two hours picking out out groceries and noone said a word the whole time because i was holding her the whole time didnt let her down the whole time. then a dairy manager came up to us and said you cant have your pet in here.like wtf if we would have know before spending two hours shopping we wouldnt have even came into there and i have seen plenty of customers with there pets with not a word said to them. The man was very rude and we will never be coming back to foodcity again.

I enjoy that this is a locally started company (out of Bristol TN) and I enjoy the simplicity of their nuval (nutritional value) system. I still check labels but it gives me a good starting point from which to look and helps me be more mindful of my purchases. I usually find plenty of selection here and the prices are good as well. Im happy to continue supporting them.

4 Stars. great employees here. comfortable people wise. only one star short. but its nothing really. maybe im just not used to their store set up if your looking fot a foodcity dont let that one gone bother you. they recently opened up a wine lane. it seems. if your into that. youll like this place. its what makes it different but others. would recommend this one.

Very clean store the only thing that stinks is most of the ad items were not available that I had on my list. Granted Im sure they will restock quickly just a bummer n they dont match competition which they should bc July 17th Walmart is going to match anything except online Walmart. Big opening for Food City to take back customers now!

Flagship Food City store with a great selection of food. The parking lot is large. Several small shops and fast food restaurants (Subway, TCBY, etc) share the parking lot. The inside of the store is well-maintained, modern, and very clean. Team members are helpful when looking for a particular item. Great grocery store overall!

Went to deli this evening approx..7pm.. Asked for a pound of ham.. Employee asked how i wanted it sliced.. I said can you shave it please.. Will not be returning anytime soon.. Got a pound of ham sliced on 2 not shaved....service was extremely slow took 15 minutes to get 1lb. Of ham and 1/2lb of bologna...

Always get great service and love their cake dept. So moist and taste awesome. I think they are the best and we buy all our 9 grandchildren birthday cake from there. Thank you food city bakery. Their meat and deli service is good alsk. I like their hamburgers they serve at the hot bar and resturant.

This place has everything. Except for malt. Slightly disappointed, however the staff has proven that they will go above and beyond to assist you in finding what you need.
