I figured Id stop in and see the store since it was new and I was shopping around for some stuff for my snakes. Upon first glance they do have a very nice store with very nice small animal displays. However thats where it ends. I know snakes. I know snake behaviors. Over half of the snakes they had were soaking in their water bowls. Now I know snakes do this sometimes when they are about to shed and sometimes they just like being in the water, but when over half of their collection and in a couple instances every snake in the enclosure is soaking in the water bowl, that points to an underlying health issue, in this case its contagious since they were all doing it. Possibly mites or parasites. On to the fish.... each tank had several dead fish in it. In some tanks the dead outnumbered the living. I know keeping fish is not easy, but some of the dead ones were showing signs of decay, which means theyd been dead in the tank for at least a day. If I were in the business of selling pet products, Id do my best to remove dead animals from the public view as soon as they were noticed. Evidently thats not how this Petco is. Aside from the poor conditions the animals were it, their prices are high. Petsmart in Turkey Creek has cheaper prices and at least marginally better conditions for their live animals.

I dont understand why this particular store exists. Ideally, when entering a Pet Store, Im only in purchasing an animal if its apparent that the store takes care of them on a regular basis. I work at a competitor store and stopped in out of curiousity for what they had to offer, and now I understand why there was only one customer other than me inside the store. Clearly, they dont take care of their animals like they should. Numerous tanks had dead fish, and a higher majority of the fish tanks were filled with algae. The small animals they keep are literally sleeping in their own poop, and are not receiving a proper diet. A bowl with the ferrets had hard, molded food with bugs flying around it. Customer service was lackluster. Do not recommend shopping here.

When we walked in with our new puppy, we were approached by several friendly employees who helped us find discounts and coupons on things we needed and helped us find good training treats. They have great prices on toys in their discount bins--always a plus for an energetic young puppy. We even spoke to them about grooming our older, more skittish dog--we just moved to West Knoxville and are having difficulty finding someone like his old groomer who knew how to handle him. They were very encouraging and wanted to find us the right groomer for the job. Well definitely be looking into their training and socialization classes, and well be back for any other needs. Ive rarely met such friendly people!

Wow! The ladies that groomed my miniature schnauzers did a wonderful job. Our groomer had recently retired and we were looking for a new place. We took them in and explained that one of our girls requires a sedative to be groomed. They said it was against their policy to allow animals to be medicated but they assured us they could do the job. They did the best grooming on both of our dogs weve ever seen. We will be back!

Drove 55 minutes to have my dog groomed at the Turkey Creek location, only to be turned away when we told them her veterinarian had her on a low dose of Benadryl due to her allergies. When I made the appointment, I asked the grooming technician about it, and she said it was not a problem. So trust I wont be back. And Teresa that we dealt was extremely rude about it. She could do with some personal grooming herself.

They were so kind, we got 6 fish and they have a 30 day money back guarantee on them, only thing that upset me is 3 days after we purchased the fish my sons favorite one died...I didnt bother taking it back as we live 45 minutes from there so I just told him Ill get him a new shark fish.

leopard geckos are in HORRIBLE condition. they are not on sandy deserts in the wild, they are on rocky deserts with rocks slates. please remove the sand and use reptile carpet, nobody wants to buy a gecko just to have a $7000 surgery to remove sand from its stomach.

I use to get my dog food here, but now I get it at agrifeed since they can order the actual brand I want that no one carries around here. But I still get fish stuff here and other various dog supplies here. Everyone is friendly and willing to help.

Nice store and staff but the animals are not treated well. They had feeder animals inside the cage with the animals and the wrong substrate in the cages. When I went to buy some feeder worms they were all dated old and very very dead.

Pretty much an average petco. Nothing very good or bad stands out. The staff are present on the floor but not likely to approach for help. But the decent selection and rewards program is always a reason to continue shopping here.
