Let me preface by saying that until today, I have always had a wonderful experience with Petco in the Duluth location. It has always been by go-to place to buy toys, food, and other necessities for my pets. I have given Petco a lot of business over the years. Today, I had one of the worse customer service experiences, not only at Petco, but at any retail location. My puppy, Skye, was due for her 2nd set of vaccines. Ive heard great things about the VetCo vaccine clinic held most weekends at all locations. Its convenient and economical. And while this is true, the veterinarian (Dr. Hypolite) did not display the behavior or customer service expected during a visit to Petco. The first thing that Dr. Hypolite said to me when I brought Skye up to get her vaccines: "So you plan on abandoning you puppy?" There was no "Hello" or "How are you doing?" or any affection shown towards my puppy. Dr. Hypolite choose to greet me with the accusation that I will one day abandon my dog. At first, I was taken aback and clarified with what he said. And he told me "Well, based on the vaccines you have chosen, it looks like you plan on abandoning your dog." And of course told him that was not the case. I did tell him that I planned on placing Skye in doggie daycare on somedays or boarding her if I have extended travel planned. And his response was, "Thats the same thing." At this point in the conversation, I was incredibly irate and actually upset that I was paying for a service and having these things said to me. Hindsight 20-20, I should have walked away and asked for a refund. But I politely but firmly asked Dr. Hypolite to give Skye the vaccines I paid for at this point. And he told me, "You dont pay me. I dont have to give these shots." Then I asked for a refund at which time he then decided to give the shots with no problem. For every Petco, there is a PetSmart where all employees care about their customers and their pets . For every Petco vaccine clinic, there is a vets office that will show clients respect and kindness. I hope Petco will encourage Dr. Hypolite, like all of their employees, to establish good rapport with all Petco customers. This will be my last visit to any Petco location.

Whoever is supposed to be in charge of inventory isnt doing their job. 3rd time in a row visiting there was expired dog treats sitting in the aisle. First time I bought dog dental treats couple months ago, there were bugs in the ziplocked bag that was also boxed which smelt horrible. I opened that bag of treats same day I bought them. Immediately drove back to return them and got my money back. I can understand that some companies may need help in certain areas every once in a while so I decided to give them 2 more chances. Both times I checked every expiration dates of items I wanted to buy and for some reason I was still finding expired items on the shelf. Never again will I risk my pets lives for a convenient drive. Wont be back. Staff seemed nice at least.

I love this Petco! It was my first time today, I brought my Pitbull Terrier, Peanut, in for a nail trimming. The women in grooming were SO sweet and knowledgable. They did a wonderful job and really calmed Peanut down when he started getting antsy. Im excited to bring him back for grooming, I felt really comfortable with the staff and so did Peanut! Great customer service, there was another man working at the register who was very sweet with Peanut too. Everyone was friendly and very helpful! Plus they had a great sale on food! This will be my regular "doggy needs" spot!

in my opinion pet smart is better than petco cuz my pupyy was passed away after eating the milk that i purchased from there. my baby had seizure after eating milk. so i brought the puppy at the 24hr emergency animal hospital. the dr told me that there was bacteria in the puppys stool..;; she was fine before eating the milk i purchased from petco. she had diarrhea many times after eating milk.so she was dehydrated..ㅠㅠ;; the milk looked old..maybe expired already tho..i really hate the store

Good fish and reptile selection. Have tank sales ($1 per gallon) and reptile rally (50% of all reptiles and amphibians) at select times in the year. Unlike Petsmart, they special order fish, thats a big plus in my book since Im always looking for off the wall species. Slightly more expensive than Petsmart on some thing. Lightly staffed so you have to ask for help a lot if you need something or if their not near the register, you might need to go find them.

The staff was unattentive and were not very helpful. This store was short on staff. One staff member, white male early 20s, left me unattended waiting for 15-20 mins waiting to receive my hamster while hamster cage was open and pulled out. I will begin to shop at petsmart because they have more staff and please the customer efficiently and i shall purchase my hamster at petsmart too.

Puppy died from drinking milk from petco? If your puppy is young enough to need milk and is getting it from petco rather than its mother you already dont have great chances. Dont be ignorant. Ps all puppies have bacteria in their stools.

Staff was very friendly. I had to get flea treatment for my dog and the guy that helped me was awesome and even spoke to the manager for me about bringing back the flea treatment if it didnt work. Will definitely shop here again.

Staff were very friendy and helpful. This is the only store near me that Carries the dog food my pack loves best (Italian greyhounds can be picky.)
