On December 19th, 2014, my wife and I took our dog in for a bath and nail grind. Weve done this numerous times before and never had an issue. On the way home, I noticed she was bleeding from her neck and had a major laceration. We got home and called our vet for an emergency appointment and got stitches (~$350). Our vet said the cut was just barely over a major artery and could have caused her to bleed out had it been a little deeper. You can imagine how scared this made us. We immediately got in touch with PetSmart and had them file a corporate incident form. They denied any responsibility, but agreed to file the form. Today (01/11/15) we called them back. I stress that WE called THEM and it was not the other way around. The manager, Tony Hallett, informed us they were not going to claim responsibility and, repeatedly, said the dog was not injured in their store. This comes more than 3 weeks after the incident and the initial filing. While we are trying to talk to the DM, we are not pleased that we are being written off and not reimbursed for what happened to our poor dog. As consumers and the parents of a loving dog, we are very disappointed in this customer service and issue of animal safety. I worked in customer service and I know things happen, but we entrusted the safety of our dog with PetSmart and, whatever may have happened, we were written off and our concerns ignored. Im not only disappointed in the customer service of this store. Im disappointed in the lack of respect paid to me and my wife regarding our dog. I hope those who read this will consider driving that little bit more down the same road to PetCo and taking their business there.

Our rescued dog was heartworm positive when we adopted her and had arsenic injections to her spine before one year of age to treat them. She recovered, but then at three years old she went completely lame ... literally dragged herself on the ground and could not eliminate for over 24 hours. Four ER vets told us she required surgery within the hour or put her down. Thank God we called our osteopathic vet and he talked us into waiting until he could work with our dog. Long, miraculous story short, we have our baby back thanks entirely to our amazing vet and a very strict diet for our dog. We feed only high quality raw diet and cannot have her vaccinated ever again. She is heads and tails above other dogs healthwise now. Literally gleams! But Petsmart will not even allow us to hold her and have her nails groomed because she is overdue for the rabies vaccine. She is an indoor dog, weighs less than seven pounds and has absolutely no sign of rabies! Talk about ridiculous! Any honest vet will tell you that rabies is easy to detect and is only contagious once the virus enters the saliva (foaming of the mouth). A glowing, vibrant, happy healthy dog is not a risk to humans or other dogs. I am profoundly disappointed in Petsmarts response. I wish that more people understood how dangerous, damaging and unnecessary yearly vaccines are for their dogs. A little bit of research would go a long way toward healthier pets.

The grooming salon input the expiration of BOTH my dogs rabies vaccinations. I called on a Sunday for a walk in appointment and they said they could take both dogs but to brig their shot records as both dogs rabies vaccinations expired may 2015. I know for a fact that my springer spaniel had gotten a 3 year shot and wasnt due until 2017, and my other dog is less than a year old. The girl on the phone was rude. I filed a complaint and the salon manager Shannon called me offering to comp one dogs grooming, okay fine. I dropped both dogs off at 730am , and hadnt heard anything by 11:30am, so I drove up there because I had somewhere to be at noon. I walked into the salon with one dog on the grooming table, and the other in the back. They told me they were cutting one and about to cut the other. So it took them FOUR hours to wash and dry them.. I can do that at home in less than an hour. So finally at 12:45pm they called to let me know both dogs were finished, 5 hours and 15 minutes later. Then they literally charged me $61 for one dog groom, so they added stuff I didnt want like teeth brushing, and on the pawgress report they ripped all the coupons off. I bought a pair of clippers there and I will never have them groom my dogs again.

I took my goldendoodle here for beginner and intermediate training, and he is so well behaved now! Steve has been amazing with him. Hes 6 months old now, and I was very nervous about grooming him for the first time. I looked at 5 different places, and decided on this Petsmart after speaking with them. I almost cried when I picked him up because he looked SO cute and so grown up. He was wagging his tail and giving kisses. They obviously took very good care of him. Im so impressed with the groomers and trainers and will continue coming back!!

We took our 6 months old show quality Great Pyrenees puppy to the grooming salon to be washed and blow-dried only. We got our puppy back (which we intended to show) with his whole belly shaved so close that he was red and raw all over, as well as his feet fur cut to pieces. After about 4 weeks of this treatment the puppy developed ringworm (type of fungus), which he picked up at PetsMart during his visit. Despite our complaint no-one ever called us back from this PetsMart. Needless to say, we will never use that grooming salon again!

Great Customer Satisfaction - I bought a 60 gallon fish tank and it ended up cracking within 3 weeks of purchasing it. The managers, Tony and Travis approved a replacement with no issues. I am so happy, as I have had my fishies for a LONG time and when I went on vacation, somehow the new tank simply cracked and Thank Goodness I hired a Pet sitter whom seen the mess and cleaned it up and saved my fish... She bought a ten gallon until I returned from vacation... Awesome customer Sat!

It is extremely hard to get in contact with a manager here. I had a interview (which they made me go back to the store 3 times for in one day because they didnt know what was going on) and was supposed to get couple called back but never heard back, so I called and was told I wasnt qualified to work there.. how Im not sure; Ive worked retail for over 2 years and have experience with animals. This place is not organized and if you want to apply good luck.
