My screen broke on my phone the other day. I called them and they had the part for $50 dollars more then online and had it in stock so we decided to get it there so we could fix the phone sooner. I went in and grabbed the part to fix my phone and when I was paying for it the the kid "kindly" told me that they dont warranty the parts that they sell... I asked if they were tested and he said yes. When I got home I replaced my screen(I do soldering on circuit boards so I knew this project would be a breeze which it was) and went through it to make sure everything was working. I noticed that my tilt, and all my sensors were not working, so I decided to give them a call to see if they would maybe know whats going on. After talking to the kid again he said that they could fix it, then I asked what was wrong with it and he wouldnt answer me. I asked several times and hed just pause and say "we can fix it" not even telling me what was wrong with it. I finally got annoyed with them and said so you wont tell me whats wrong but youll charge me to "fix" it. He then said yes thats COMPANY POLICY. I dont know about most people but I would not take my phone to a bunch of kids who said they can "fix" it but wont tell me whats wrong... I should of listen to a friend who said they destroyed his screen(once he got it back the left half was unresponsive)and they refused to fix or warranty it. If you need to work on your phone just YouTube the repair and buy the parts online which will be cheaper and youll know its done right in the end. Dont take it to these monkeys. UPDATE: I got a call a few days ago in the morning from Tyler from The Cell Phone Guy that went to voice mail(I was busy) saying they were looking for my services from the business that I own. Well I decided I was going to call back in a little bit but they called me again. When I answered they never mentioned anything about my business just about this review. They LIED TO ME about wanting to do business, they just wanted me to call them back but were too impatient to wait. Long story short during the phone call they lied, threatened to leave my business a bad review, and then tried to bribe me with free stuff to change this review. I wouldnt trust these people, they tracked me down, got my phone number and called me lying about the reason they were calling.... Stay away from The Cell Phone Guy, they are bad news and I stand firm saying do not take anything to these guys. Go somewhere else or do the repair yourself(youtube and google is your friend). If they can do it then anybody could....

Crooks - plain and simple. My Galaxy S5 cellphone was acting up. I went in to see if they have one that I could buy. They had couple of them at 550-600$. I bought one "new " GS5 from them. Next evening I talked to a friend of mine and he fixed my cellphone that was acting up. When I went in following day to return the phone that I bought from the , their employee that sold me the phone states that I can not return phone. When I was buying it no one has mentioned that once you buy the phone you are stuck with it..If I would have gone to bestbuy or any other store I have 14-30 days to return it. SO....if you are buying a cellphone from them make sure that you know that once you buy it - you are stuck with it. A small update........... Yesterday i posted the rewiew that you can read above up to this point. Today i am at work and i get a message on my cellphone.........guess from who....??????? The cellphone guy... Too bad there is no way to attach a screenshot of that - otherwise i would. Apparently they are not pleased with my review and wish i would tell a different story... like their return policy is in 5 different places.... etc... Apparently before you buy something from them you need to go online to check their policy....or if you walk in you have to make a circle around all walls in store trying to find their policy.. Bullsxhht. Please go and look at their return policy if you can find it.........There is a refund policy..where nothing is stated about returns of phones.. Anyway... if you decide to post something negative expect them to find out your phone number and send you some BS.....

My boyfriend called last week to get a quote on fixing an Xbox 360. He researched the part cost and it was around $80 to order online, The Cell Phone Guy quoted my boyfriend $100 on the phone to repair the box and so he decided it was worth it to take it in. He dropped it off and quickly signed the "paperwork" and left. He got a call today that the Xbox had been fixed and it would now be $150 not $100 as verbally quoted. When we showed up to pick it up we offered to pay the quoted price and were given a line of bull about how this was an Xbox 360 "slim" so it was $150 and they even showed in their account notes that they quoted us $100 over the phone. They realized after he dropped off the box that it was a slim and would be more expensive. We asked why they never verbally pointed out to us that this was a "slim" version and therefore more expensive, also why they didnt call once they realized what it was to inform us of the increased charge and approve the repair? No good answer, but they were happy to produce a wordy service agreement and threaten to take us to small claims court if we didnt pay the repair charges. We left the box there and told them to keep it! First of all we never would have agreed to $150 to fix an old Xbox 360 with a 90 day warranty when you can by them brand new for the same price and get a 1 year warranty and a controller. These guys are CON-ARTISTS, even former employees who work at other more "reputable" repair places say it. I personally work in the tech industry and have heard countless horror stories from my customers.

Went to get the glass replaced on my Galaxy Note 3 today. I decided to have a repair place do it instead of myself because I didnt trust myself with a heat gun on electronics. The people were friendly enough. Dropped it off at about noon 15 during my lunch break and it was ready when I came back after work. So far there hasnt been any issues and there is a 90 day warranty which is nice. The reasons I gave then 3 stars are these: I think more than 200 dollars for a glass replacement is exorbitant. The only reason I chose to pay this much is because I would have had to pay a deductible for a new device and wait for it to ship under the current insurance. Note to readers, go with SquareTrade if possible. They have a much lower deductible (around 50 I think) which I would have been less grumpy about paying. The second reason I decided on 3 stars is because they didnt really set themselves apart from the competition. I would have appreciated it if they had replaced the screen protector I had on the old glass, but they didnt. And it turns out to be incredibly difficult to find Note 3 screen protector for some reason. Neither the Verizon store nor the Walmart in Brookings had them. I was quite hesitant to try this place from reading the other reviews, but I still decided to do it because they could do just the glass without replacing the whole LCD/digitizer assembly. in conclusion, I got exactly what I was expecting for more money than I would have liked, and they should work on little incentives to keep customers.
