Myrtle Beach is dotted with little stores that sell the very basics of liquor, with all of the standard fares, and nothing noteworthy. Owens, on the other hand, carries the basic but also the higher-ups material, with an extensive selection. And by higher-ups, I mean the very top-shelf. If youre into bourbon, for example, they have various selections of Orphan Barrel, plus the much sought-after Pappys. They also have an outstanding selection of Scotch as well. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. By far, this was the very best establishment I visited in South Carolina. As someone once said, life is too short to drink cheap liquor. Definitely a 5 star establishment.

I wish there was an option for 0 stars. Moved to the area and thought I would see what stores get some limited supply of Rip Van Winkle. To my surprise they had several bottles of different vintages but price gouging was at its finest. The $50 MSRP bottle they wanted $579, the $65 MSRP bottle was $599 and the $150 MSRP bottle was $1999. Looks like I will be doing our shopping at other local places. Im all for making a living but that mark up is insane. If you have people willing to pay that for it at least auction them off and donate it to charity and take the write off.

The staff was really helpful. They have a good variety of alcohol, and the wine selection is decent. There are lots of regions represented but I would like to see more selections within the regions. Still, good spot to find something you like. Beer is kept in the back room which requires a separate entrance. Thats kind of annoying, but not their fault. The beer selection when I went was really light. Basics were covered but that was about it. Id get beer someplace else if not a standard choice.

We stopped in on a whim, looking for a nice bottle of tequila for a gift (for a margarita lover). The sales clerk was extremely knowledgeable and helped us weed through "name" vs. "quality". We ended up purchasing scotch and wine as well. The clerk did not get frustrated or tired of our plethora of questions. Because they are a distributor, their prices were much better than other stores in the area.

This is the best place to buy wine on the Grand Strand. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. My wife is not a big fan of Red wines. The Owner David recommended a bottle that she would love. He said if she did not like it, he would buy it back. Well, she loved it and is starting to take away from space in my cellar..

Always a good experience here. They have employees that are actually knowledgeable. Its sad how rare that is today, but here youll find it. Great selection of hard-to-find products at surprisingly good prices (IMO), and just look at this wine selection!

In a country and state that is heavy on whisky and vodka, its nice to see a store with a nice rum selection. While it is not a huge selection, it is a section of larger variety than others. Only place that, that I have found, has Meyers legend.
