I am very disappointed in my last 3 trips to your store.Ironically my boyfriend and I had just left Kohls on Sunday November 11th and were parked just outside of Petco. We could have and now know we should have just gone in there instead of driving almost 10 miles out of our way to come to your store. The problem I have is that no one seems to want to help you purchase anything.We are in all the time buying fish and I feel like that if you want to sell fish you need someone who wants to sell not walk right past you for 35 or 40 minutes. That is exactly how we felt the last 3 times weve been there.Sunday was the worst visit by far.The young girl at the register seemed to be the only "working" employee. The Guy who usually waits on us with the ear plugs walked right past us several times and never spoke. We lingered around for about 40 minutes in the fish department and never saw anyone.I realize that we could come to the line at the register and wait to ask someone to help us but it was very obvious we wanted to purchase some fish.I shouldnt have to come to you,if you want my money you should come to me. I am very disappointed and I usually try to support my local small businesses but I will not support yours any more. Terrible customer service.Never been anywhere where they could care less about the customers and its very obvious. So petco and petsmart have a new customer. Me. I suggest that you hire so go getters and get rid of the lazy,I dont care additudes that you have working for you.What a shame because we obviously liked your store enough to go out of our way to buy from you.Maybe your employees should learn to go out of their way to help your customers, that is if you want to stay in business.You lost ours. First of all, I always test my water to make sure my levels are good before I go out and buy a fish. The other day I checked my levels, everything was good, so I decided that I wanted a few more fish, but I wanted something different. I know that they have exotic freshwater fish sometimes, so I drove 35 mins there to see what they had. I found a rare fish that was cool and I got it. I brought it home and began the accumation process. Everything went good and I let the fish loose. About an hour later, the fish was dead. I called them the next day and told them. They said bring a water sample and the dead fish and if everything looked good they would give me a refund. I went back and they tested my water. I noticed that the girl was looking at a few different nitrate bottles before finding a certain one. Then she shook it up and tested my nitrates. If turned red almost instantly, which said that my nitrates were toxic. I was told because of that, no refund will be given. She then told me to go home and do a major water change, wait a few days then do another one, then test it. As soon as I got home, I tested my water again. Guess what? My nitrates were fine and so were the cheap fish I got from them. I waited a few days and took another water sample up there. It tested fine, and I was told that the water changes I did helped. Little do they know, I never did a water change. It was water from the same tank. There is something in that bottle she used the first time that made it look like my nitrates were high, so they didnt have to give me a refund on my $25.00 fish. Rip offs. They dont even take care of thier fish. They get them in on thurs and try to have them sold buy mon. That is the reason for the by one get one free deal they have on sun. Save your money. If you get a fish that is sick and it kills all of your other fish, then they will say your levels are high and its your fault.

I have been here multiple times in the past couple of years I have lived in the area. I recently (Fall of 2012) Purchased 2 Mini lops (2 month old brothers). In less than 3 months one of the brothers died from a gentic problem of some sort (according to our vet), which means that they are getting their rabbit stock from bad quality rabbits and possibly other animals. Also their rabbits are way too expensive. I had to pay 70$ just for the rabbits when I could have gone to a breeder with the parents present for around or under that price.They also house way to many small animals in the same cages. When I got my rabbits I had asked the store managers questions on the care and health of these rabbits and none of them could tell me anything. PLUS they sexed them wrong! Luckily I had two boys because I could have ended up with more rabbits! I should have left that store when I never got these answers. I still have one of the rabbits and luckily he is in good health. If I shall ever get another small pet I would not return to this store. Also we have a 55 Gallon fish tank and we go here for fish. They fish die INSTANTLY, This is because they put saltwater in their freshwater tanks SO you will buy their saltwater. I do not care for the fish but my family continues to get water from this store even though the fish never survive past 1-2months. I come to get supplies for my dogs and rabbits sometimes because they are WAY cheaper than other stores (Which is a +) BUT unfortunately they are always outofstock or the packages are dusty and covered in cobwebs! I know you are a smell business but the upkeep of it is unprofessional, even for a family owned standard.

I was in the market for a small furry pet so I opted for a ferret. They had them in the back with the rabbits and guinea pigs. All of the cages had not been cleaned in what looked like days. It smelled terrible and looked worse. I understand when there are multiple cages that there will be a lot of waste. Which means that the cages will need to be kept up better. They did not have a great presentation considering these pets run over $100.00. The animals looked sad and like they needed to be saved. I really suggest you guys being more attentive to your pet stock. Their items had been on the shelf so long the packages were faded and dusty! When I made my purchase my pet came with papers but I did not recieve them nor was I informed taht I would need them in order to take advantage of my 1 year warranty which resulted in another trip to get them. Had I had some customer service I would have been informed of everything I needed to give my pet a good start. The children/teenagers working the counter were very uninterested in helping or ansering questions and had a terrible image to represent your pet store. When I asked a question they all acted like I was interrupting their view on life....Get it together Coastline, you have a lot of potential business
