I had purchased a fish for my 4 yr old son for easter, the day after easter it died. I was out and my wife called me and told me what had happened. I hurried over to Pet supplies Plus where i bought the fish. I arriving at 9:02 they of coarse close at 9. I explained my situation to a young man who was an employee, he was sympathetic, however the manager came to the door and said "There is nothing we can do, the drawers are closed." I said i will pay $10 cash for the $3 fish and she can enter it in the morning, again "there is nothing we can do." She then told me they had no more of that kind of fish, however later she said to bring it back in the morning and she could give me another one.?. how is this possible? they dont have any more? were they expecting a big night delivery of Beta fish? It just seems to me that under the circumstances she could have done SOMETHING! Two minutes late, a fish that cost the company probably only fifty cents I am offering $10 for. I dont drive around scamming pet stores out of $3 fish and offer to pay $10 for them but that is how she treated me, like i was trying to pull one over on her. I was highly disappointing. I have learned two lesson: #1 do not give pets as holiday gifts, last year was a hamster it only lasted a month. Actually i bought that here too. #2 I have to find a pet store that cares about more than policy and procedure. Sincerely let down, Dave B.
