Horrible Customer Service. This store is a mess when it comes to customer service. I am so frustrated and disappointed in my experience here that I will NEVER shop at this store again. My husband and I went to the store to purchase a playhouse for our son for Christmas. We took a purchase card for the playhouse that we wanted to the front register and bought it. After paying for the house, we were told that there werent any in the store (even though there was a card out for purchase). The manager then went to go search the back himself, but never came back. After 30 minutes, I asked another sales associate to go find him. When he returned, he didnt remember anything about our previous conversation, or that he had gone to go search for the playhouse. He then looked on his computer and told us that there would be a playhouse like the one we had purchased coming in on the truck that night and that he would hold it for us. We went back the next day. The manager had no recollection of ever meeting us and had not held a playhouse and had no idea if a playhouse had come in on the truck. We were told that he would do a nation wide search for the playhouse and call us when he found one. A week later, we had not heard anything. We tried calling the store for 5 hours straight, but the line was busy. We tried calling the national customer service line and they couldnt help us. Finally, a week and a half from the time we first went into the store, my husband got in touch with the manager. He had no idea when and if a playhouse would be coming in and is going to refund our money. We are now at a point to where we are having to buy the playhouse from somewhere else and will not get it in time for Christmas because we wasted so much time believing what the manager and customer service people at this store were telling us. They will tell you anything to solve the problem in the moment, but do not follow up on promises or phone calls. Will never shop there again!

Absolutely horrible customer service. We put our daughters Christmas on layaway on the Dec 7. We were told we had 2 weeks to pay it off and pick up her gifts. When we went back 10 days later we were told they had put everything back on the shelf and that the layaway actually only had 4 days to be paid not two weeks. When I notified a manager all he wanted to do was rub it in my face that the receipt said it was to be paid on the 11th. I admit we probably should have looked at the receipt but the associate really should have told us the right date. When I spoke with the General Manager she only said that she didnt know how this could happen but that I should have read my receipt. When asked why they couldnt have called me she said they had too many layaways to call everyone. I own a business and we call everyone that comes through the door to remind them of their appointments. When I told her, the manager and employee needed to be retrained she said she didnt know who they were. I told her I had the employee numbers but she didnt care and didnt want them. I had to make the GM go get what they had left off their shelves to try to refill my order. Several of the items were available online as I was talking to the manager but she insisted they werent (I was looking at the website as we spoke). They only had 8 of the 30 items we had originally wanted. They also tried to refuse to refund the money I had put down on the layaway which was over half the purchase! Bottom line they didnt care about us, our problem nor did they care if the fixed it. Worst customer service EVER!!!! Will never give Toys R Us another dime!!!

On Feb. 15th of this year, I THOUGHT I was having an awesome experience at your Irmo, SC Babies R Us location. The associate at the registry counter assisted me in making a fairly large purchase for the nursery. I am a first time mom and devastated to find out that my parents had to purchase a new crib in order to surprise me with a completed nursery. I originally purchased what I thought to be a 4 in 1 convertible crib... over the weekend while I was on vacation, my parents put the crib together only to discover its a mini crib. I would hope that someone helping 1st time moms would have realized that the crib and the mattress I purchased were not compatible items. In hindsight, I realize that she was rushed and there is not enough staffing in the registry department at this location. And to pour salt in the open wound, the associate I spoke with about returning it patronized me the whole time I was one the phone with her. If I knew the answers to the questions I was asking, I wouldnt have called. Come to find out today is day 90 and if I had the ability to drop what I was doing, the item is eligible for return. Im so disgusted by this whole experience that Im strongly considering canceling my registry because I cant step foot in one of your stores again. This is supposed to be a happy time in my life, but here I am on my 28th birthday at 31 weeks pregnant bawling my eyes out because of your poorly trained employees.

This store totally racially profiled me the moment I walked in. I had people following me around the store as if I was going steal something. I eventually confronted the manager after I noticed an employee that was always, coincidentally, in the same ile I was in, pretending to be setting up boxes. I told the manager that I had more than enough money to pay for the toy I came into the store looking for, and did not need to be followed around by the employees. I will never go back there! WARNING! Do not give these people your phone number at the register; they sell your phone information to 3rd party telemarketers. And if you think Im joking, read the back of your receipt.

Ordered a bike to be assembled 2 weeks ago. Was told they were a little backed up and would be ready in a few days. That I would get a call as soon as it was assembled. Ive called everyday this last week and either got no answer or people who had no idea if it was ready. I finally got through to someone in the back and they said its been assembled for a while now. Poor customer service.

Oh man. This place always seems to be understaffed and the temperature is always wrong. Hot in summer. Cold in winter. I can usually find what I am looking for but the staff cant. If you decide to buy something on a special offer, make sure you can fully explain all details of the offer to the cashier.

Person whom I sent gift received wrong item. Did a Three-Way-Call. Spoke to phone support, the supervisor Brandon in Georgia, and his boss. Three-levels of support, and although ToysRUS acknowledges shipping wrong toy they take no responsibility saying it is their warehouse that made the mistake.
