I recommend against shopping here. I visited Good for the Sole on 7/3/10, and ordered a pair of Birkenstocks. I was told that they would almost certainly arrive by 7/9/10. The order wasnt placed until 7/7/10 (as I learned later), so the shoes didnt make it in time. No attempt was made to inform me as to the change of delivery date. A visit to the store yielded blank faces -- the owner did not recognize me, despite a long conversation and my having given him more than $100 -- and a promise to call me when the shoes arrived. A phone call the following week was returned three days later by a sales associate, and a personal visit to the store was again greeted with a blank face and no answers about a delivery date. A saleswoman (in the presence of the owner) promised to contact Birkenstock the next day to find out what was going on and call me back. She never called, so I again dropped in to ask what was happening. Amazingly, I got yet another blank look from the owner, and a *promise* that he would personally call Birkenstock, figure out what was happening, and call me back the next day. He never called. I returned after another week to ask what was going on, and the owner said that the shoes were on back-order and would not arrive until 8/4/10. His explanation of why I did not receive the promised call was "Oh, one of the girls didnt call you? They were supposed to." I (still politely!) told the owner why I was feeling frustrated about the situation -- he had dropped the customer service ball a half-dozen times already -- to which he replied "its not our fault." He then snidely insisted on an order cancellation and full refund, which he carried out despite my not having even mentioned the possibility. No attempt was made to retain me (or my wife) as repeat customers, and no apologies were offered. This business is not interested in customer service, it seems. Steer clear. You can buy your shoes online (as I subsequently did)! P.S. The shoes I ordered online arrived on 8/2/10, two days before the last ostensible delivery date I was given by GFtS.

This store has some of the most unique shoes and brands in Columbia. I love to shop here because Im always greeted politely and never do I have a problem finding something I would take home with me! Good For The Sole has a great selection of comfort shoes but they are still cute. My favorite are the Naots or Alegrias. Their prices are less than what you would find online as well which is an added bonus. Their location is convenient and the staff is friendly!

I visit Good for the Sole shoes every time I am in 5 points. The staff is awesome, and they have the best shop dog ever. I always find exactly what I am looking for, and the staff is always willing to help me order shoes, or pick the right pair. While in the store, I found the best pair of boots in Columbia! The prices are fair and the selection is amazing. From Alegria and Antia to Birkenstocks and Sperrys, this store has something for everyone!

I went to Good for the Sole Shoes yesterday for the first time and had an absolutely fabulous visit! The sales staff were friendly, informative, and PATIENT. I broke my foot a few years ago and have trouble finding shoes that fit comfortably. They have a great selection and let me try practically every shoe in the store. Also, the clearance rack upstairs is AWESOME!! Highly recommend this store for very high quality, comfortable shoes!!
