First of all, the selection at Phillips shoe store is not that great, a lot of older looking styles. The reason I can not stand to shop in there is because the workers must work on commission because they will hound you and not just let you walk around peacfully. My last visit at Phillips shoes was beyond annoying, I had just picked up a pair of shoes to look at, as soon as I did, the sales lady came over and took them out of my hand and told me she would take them up front, for me to just meet her at the registered, i then told her that i wasnt even sure if i wanted them, so i took the shoes back, walked around for about 3min, and the lady asked me about 4 times if i decided on the shoes. I got so annoyed that i put the shoes back and left the store. I would rather buy them online and pay the shipping, than be hassled while i am shopping. That has happened almost everytime i go in the store. NO THANKS!

I had a similar experience to one of the others. Went to look for shoes and felt hounded by shoe saleswomen who wouldnt leave me alone to look at things and try them on myself. As soon as I said I liked a pair one lady quickly took them up to the register even though I was still looking. I wore them for 5 minutes and decided they really werent worth it so I took them back and she was not happy to see me . I guess I took away her commission. Theyre really eager and happy to sell you something but god forbid you return anything.

I understand working on commission, but I am more apt to buy something from you if you just say "Hello, my name is Joe. If you need any help dont hesitate to ask". But to be asked 4 times in 5 minutes if I need help is a little much. The sad thing is I dont even buy shoes from there. I go there with my wife while she is looking for shoes. I actually quit going in with her and walk down to Half Moon Outfitters. I can walk around in peace there.

This is the best shoe store in Charleston. They carry a wide variety of high quality, high performance shoes to meet a variety of needs. In my case, Im profoundly flat footed and never have found any shoes that I can walk in comfortably for hours - until I went to Phillips. And they are cute shoes, too! I would highly recommend this store for any person as everyone is bound to find something they like at Phillips.

went to this store twice, both times told the employees that if i needed help i would get them. Both times they followed me. Even at the second time i went in i actually told the woman that i didnt need her help, physically stopped her with my arm.she looked at me and told me she was going to follow me anyway then stood there and watched me. very creepy. I didnt feel trusted in that store, wont be going back.

The service was terrible! Several sales people walked right by and just stared at me and my mother. When I walked up to the counter the lady was very short with me and wouldnt even make eye contact! The people that came in after us were greeted and asked they needed help! I was highly disappointed mainly because my mother has always shopped there. I just hope it wasnt a race thing!

They staff is AWESOME. Katherine assisted me through everything, no pressure. The first shoe I got was tight in width, I returned it, she called the manufacture order the same size in Wide AND the next size. Called me when it arrived within a week; I tried both and picked the best fit, even exchange. Thats INCREDIBLE customer service. And they have a nice selection of shoes.

I wanted to say that my daughter absolutely loves Phillips and I found the people there to be very helpful. She loves the variety of selections, brand names and styles. We didnt feel harrassed when we where there, in fact the visit was quite pleasant. I didnt know they had such an array of styles and I would recommend anyone of any age to visit this store for their self.

Terrible sales women working on commission. They literally follow you around the store, take the shoes from you to the register the moment you look as though you may purchase a pair. Would rather pay more somewhere else . Overall, they have decent but overpriced shoes accompanied by incredibly pushy sales women.

I had a great experience with Phillips shoes. I needed a nice pair of work shoes that are attractive and comfortable. They knew the brand (Reikkers) and how to size them just right. Just started a sales job, so Im tuned in to salesmanship. Phillips does an awesome job!!

The worst experience I ever had in my life I had in this store.The sales person are rude and mean.The shoes are expensive so they should at lease respect byers forget about this in this store.I will never go back to that store again.

The salespeople are so pushy! There is one there that did not leave me alone and practically followed me into the bathroom. She kept on telling me to call her grandma. I would not go back just because of her!

Very very very good shoe store for women. Lots of selection – everything from running shoes to fancy pumps and everything in between. Not so great with the kids shoes.
