The staff has always been friendly and helpful. I consider this the closest to a "local" hardware store for Collegeville youre going to get. Yes, the prices are a bit higher than your big box stores, I would say around 10% more. The catch/sell point? Its just around the corner. I can run over there quickly, grab, go and back in the house before I would even make it to the closest Lowes. The convenience is worth the extra cost. It does not always have everything you want or need, but I would say that they have it about 80% of the time.

The Trappe, PA store is poorly managed. They cant seem to get the prices right and when you show them that the item was located in a lower-priced section, they wont do the honorable thing and honor that price. Instead, after inconveniencing you, they insist on charging the higher price, kind of like bait and switch. This has happened to me on 3 separate visits. I will never go back. I love waiting 10 minutes at the cashier to pay for something, getting an attitude from the old man for asking for help, then getting rung in after a women whom have just got there. What I do love is the most is clapping he did to get my attiention. Worst fucking experience ever.

Staff really wants to help, and are generally knowledgeable. If they dont know the answer theyll try to find it. Selection is limited, but its not homedepot or lowes, so adjust your expectation. Usually have seasonal stuff on sale.

This is a convenient local hardware store. Price And selection are just ok. The paint is actually very good. Get one of the women to help you with the paint as they seem to know the options better than the guys at the store.
