AVOID. While this thrift store might sound good, do not go on a Saturday and do not go expecting to be treated in a professional manner. Ive been to this store 10+ times over the last few years and while its never been the best experience, today was especially terrible. Since it was a Saturday, I went in expecting it to be crowded and fairly miserable, but my boyfriend was looking for something his mother had seen the day before and wanted, so we went. It was indeed crowded, but we had fun walking around anyway. The trouble came when we went to check out. As expected, there was a line that literally stretched to the back of the main room and then along the back wall. We got in line with our very few items (two books for me, two shirts for him) which we intended to purchase separately. We stood in line for no fewer than 30 minutes. When I finally got to the third spot in line, nearly to the registers, a very loud and crude worker started yelling, "5 items or less over here," point to a line of 5 - 6 people in front of one of the registers. Great, an express line! That would have been great to know 30 minutes ago. There was no signage, just this woman yelling. I stayed in the original line because doing so would be a shorter wait than moving over to the express line. Finally when it was my turn, I stepped up to register and the woman behind the counter looked at my two books and pointed over to the "express" line. "Less than five items over there," she said. "What?" I said. "Ive been in line all this time..." "We have a system," she said. My boyfriend tried to interject and add his items to mine, but it was too late. Despite waiting in line for more than 30 minutes and having items that would take less than a minute to ring through, it was apparently necessary that we move over to express line, which we werent even aware of up to that point, and not for lack of paying attention. "A system?" Really? If it is a system, its pretty damn inefficient and certainly unfair, considering the way it was put in place -- sporadic yelling. My boyfriend and I didnt want to deal with any further stupidity, so we put our items down and walked out. We certainly were not the only customers frustrated, and Im sure it was a hectic day for the workers, but seriously -- its a business thats been around for a while. They should have their "system" well established by now and definitely shouldnt have to resort to having their employees yell like that. It was upsetting. Just put up a sign! Bravo, whoever-was-running-the-store-this-afternoon. Bravo. Personally, I will never go to this store again, no matter what day of the week it is. There are FAR better thrift stores in the area (after this, we went up to the Goodwill a few miles away and it was so much better in every way). Also, the parking situation at this RW&B location sucks, on top of the ineptitude of the workers/management. Its just one big cluster-cuss, so Ill say it again: AVOID.

I have been shopping at this store since 1983! It is my absolute favorite thrift store, and as thrift shopping is basically my hobby, I am familiar with many around the area. Things people complain about: You *will* spend a long time looking, because clothes are not sorted by size, and the store has no dressing rooms. I learned when I was in high school, though, to wear a skirt, a camisole, and/or a bathing suit, and to just go ahead and try stuff on in the open. Go ahead, this is far from etiquette central; nobody is judging you while theyre also sorting through used stuff. Frequently you will spend a *really* long time waiting in line. Its a function of the place being so awesome that its always crowded. Plan ahead and dont whine about it. They sell books and magazines. Get one, or play on your phone, or just do your trying on while youre in line. Youre about to save a big pile of money in an entertaining way; half an hour of your life for this privilege is a feature, not a flaw. This store is best for clothes and shoes; other stores have dramatically fewer things and frequently higher prices. Other thrift stores tend to have lower prices on housewares and books. The HUGE inventory makes it worth looking here first, anyway, though; you may pay $5 for something another store would price at $2, but the other stores are much less likely to have it in the first place. With the half price sale every Saturday, and the various discount days throughout the week, paying a little more for the occasional item is washed out by all the things youre getting a fantastic deal on. Parking is better than it used to be, since they finally bought the big empty lot next door. No it isnt a great lot (very potholed, and puddly when it rains) but I *always* find a spot. The very farthest spots are not as far away as the farthest spots in your average Giant Eagle or Target lot. The staff isnt tremendously friendly or helpful. Thats because this is a high volume thrift store so theyre really busy all the time and they dont work for a huge chain and probably arent union so they dont make a ton of money or have great benefits or get fun breakroom perks. All of this is a function of the fact that its AMAZINGLY CHEAP to shop there, so again: its a feature, not a flaw. Be nice to them and theyll be nice to you. Or anyway theyll be polite. Just buy your stuff and dont expect to be entertained as well; if you were a special princess you wouldnt be shopping here anyway.

Well I had an interesting Saturday I got"accused" of stealing from this establishment and was followed around by a man everywhere I went he was literally up my ass and he had me on edge to where I felt very uncomfortable he didnt even work there and I was looking at an old video camera and I was bent over and my " Cellphone" fell out of my pocket of my jacket and into the case this man was standing to the right of me and said to an employee that I took a power cord out of the case when I just grabbed my cellphone out of the case that had fell into the case and when the employee came to me and asked me to Give the power cord back I replied what power cord I dont have it I even took every item out of my pockets to prove that I didnt have a power cord the employee apologized and told me and my grandmother that the man has done this to other people and if the employee didnt say something to me the man would have to report it to the employees boss.

This place has a small selection of everything in great shape. However, the employees are the rudest people weve ever met. Theyre cash only. Yes, there is a sign hanging from the ceiling but there are a ton of signs hanging up so you dont notice it. They also said that all clothes and shoes were 50% off. I clarified that with an employee because it was our first time going there. When they rung us up, they said that only one of the articles of clothing were 50% off. They were extremely rude when we asked them to take the clothes off of what we were buying and they got really pissed off. They went on and on about how much it was an inconvenience for them. We said that we were sorry but we really didnt have that much cash on us. The manager was muttering rude comments as we were leaving. I have never been to a place that made you feel so awful for not having enough cash on you. Well never go back!
