I have to admit the first time I went here, I was a little put-off due to a strong cat smell. (There are several cages at the front of the store with adoptable cats. It actually doesnt smell too much unless a cat is having digestive troubles.) But my dog loved it, so we came back. And then we came back again. Weve now been regulars for a couple years. Heres why: the staff learn your pets name in no time flat and genuinely seem to be happy to see you and your pet. The prices are excellent for the products offered. Theres a large selection of food for sensitive stomachs (and probably any other special food need.) The staff is very knowledgeable and as helpful as can be. The store cats and dogs are so well behaved. There are tons of interesting treats with new stuff coming in all the time. They find homes for hundreds of cats a year. Such an excellent little shop!

I highly recommend shopping here for just about everything! The atmosphere is so cozy and the staff are so kind and patient. They always answer the phone and take the time to assist you in finding the perfect things you need. I spoke to Julia specifically and she was fantastic! She listened to what I was looking for and spent many minutes on the phone with me to ensure I was satisfied and even offered to create me a list of suggestions. I cant be more grateful to her! Adopted a cat three months ago and getting to know this place well. They ordered a case of wet food for my finicky cat that I was buying on Amazon and it was cheaper to get it from here! The people and pets that work and hang out here are friendly, fun, and helpful. If youre having a rough day, just walk in...even if youre not shopping for pet products. You will walk out with a smile on your face.

Cute shop. If youre looking for a very specific dog food but dont see it, just ask -- chances are they probably do have it. They just dont have a ton of space where they stack the bags of food so it may have gotten buried under something else. Woman at the counter kindly gave our little Morty a yummy treat as we checked out so the place is OK by him too.

I absolutely LOVE this store! I buy my Premium Foods from there and they are so nice that they will special order items for me as well! Friendly and always helpful! Reasonably priced! And I love the kitten and small animal adoption services that they provide! My all time favorite pet store to visit!

We always loved the Fairmount Pet Shoppe - sad we dont live in Fairmount any more! We do still have family in the area, so I will have to stop back and at the very least, visit the window kitties that we always wanted to take back with us, but I fear any more cats and we become... those neighbors.

I love having a locally-owned pet store in the neighborhood. They carry high-quality pet food at very reasonable prices. The adoption service is a great asset as well...a friend adopted two sibling kittens and is very happy. The staff is fantastic, too!

Great selection of hard to find dog treats (frozen cow femurs, specialty dog ice cream and rawhides). Leashes and harnesses are great quality and last for years; a little pricey but you get what you pay for. I always enjoy stopping in.

Nice small shop. Has most of the higher quality dog and cat foods at VERY reasonable prices. The staff is also nice and friendly. I used to go all the way to cherry hill to get quality cat food at this price.
