RUDE OWNER DOUG/luckily (mostly) great, helpful employees. EXPENSIVE PRICES. APPARENTLY AFTER READING OTHER REVIEWS, MGT AND OWNERSHIP DOES NOT WANT TO BE BOTHERED ASKING ABOUT PROJECTS I WOULDNT BUY ANY PRODUCT THERE AND DONT ASK, IT WILL GET UGLY. he actually flew out of his store to confrront me, though at the time when i saw him i didnt even realize who it was since he never came to the desk (see below), in the parking lot near 10-15 minutes minutes after i had left (i was in my car with the door open putting caps on my keys and placing them on my key ring). i could he was SEETHING: "DID YOU HANG UP ON ME?" what? "WERE YOU THE ONE THAT JUST HUNG UP ON ME?" are you doug? "YES AND YOU JUST HUNG UP ON ME..." no, i couldnt even reach the phone base what are you talking about. i had to tell him to please calm down that he was making me uncomfortable. an unpleasant uncomfortable UNECESSARY dialogue ensued, then i couldnt get him out of the way of my door (i guess he wasnt done spewing and complaining) so i could leave. while driving away (my convertible top was down) i yelled over to him that thank god attitudes dont run downhill in his store, hed be out of business. next thing i know hes SCREAMING at me from the side walk. yeah, it was a scene, but i coudlnt believe the NERVE OF HIM. i found it ridiculous that he told me i was interrupting his lunch, fine (while thinking whiny crabby rude) "manager", i understand i apologized, no need to come to the desk, and then insulted my intelligence in asking me if did my homework yet. despite that i was unusually calm--something like this would normally throw me into a verbal tizzy with merchant--but i just got my stuff and left. YOU WONT INTERRUPT YOUR LUNCH TO HELP A CUSTOMER, YET YOU COME FLYING OUT TO THE PARKING LOT 10 MINUTES AFTER INSULTING ME TO VERBALLY ATTACK ONE AND COMPLAIN THAT (YOUR EMPLOYEE, NOT ME) JUST SLAMMED THE PHONE DOWN ON YOU. this was all because i i thought it would be a great idea to ask about products for an herb garden "projece, no different than the questions to the employees in the differing departments about those projects i had. when i asked, the 2 individuals in the garden department looked at me like it was an off the wall question and said they knew nothing about growing herbs. ok. so i asked at checkout--got the same answer and weird response. they said they would call "Doug". i went back to the key section for a swap of something, came back, 10 minutes later, still no Doug. so she called him again. this is where things went downhill. i could overhear some laughing (which weirdly felt like snickering) but i brushed it off. finally, she streches the corded phone receiver, from her reach and out of mine, over to me and i said hello sorry to "bother" (me a customer bothering who i thought would be a manager) you, and he interrrupted me and said twice, its really hard to each lunch around here. errr ok, whining to customers????? i apologized (for what im not sure) and then he said it again. so figured id make it short and to the point, thinking about growing an herb garden, do you know anything about that--what products do i need (to buy)? he literally asked me if i researched it on google yet. (the thought of growing an herb garden was fleeting, not planned and researched when i walked past the seed packages) this set me off, not only did i waste 15 minutes waiting on him, im now being treated as if i didnt know i could research growing herbs gardens on gogole when im trying to BUT PRODUCT. "no i havent but thanks for the advice...goodbye" and thought to myself ill buy my products elsewhere, handed the phone back to the girl, who, i thought in passing, weirdly kind of not so gently placed it back on the cradle. i told her that he was rude and dismissive; she apologized, i mumbled under my breath and left with my purchase. dude, i said thanks but no thanks and goodbye. go look at your freaking cameras to figure out who hung up on you, it certainly wasnt me.

The store satisfies many needs of my family (a leaking faucet, a painting job, household cleanser, a replacement key, ...) so that we seldom go to the big box hardware stores. The store is situated in a largely residential area and a pleasant walking distance from many homes. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. When we have a plumbing problem, for example, we take the failed parts there and the staff usually tells you what to do and send you home with the exact replacement parts. Whats better is that they welcome dogs! Our dog loves to go there and get treated by the friendly staff. The store is so deeply rooted in the community that a friend, another long time Mt Lebanon resident, calls "home away from home".

I give Rollier a two star rating ONLY because it is convenient to the Mount Lebanon area and the associates are (with the exception of the young ladies that run the cash registers, which get credit for being very nice) knowledgable. That is where it ends. The layout of the store is ridiculously confusing. I have to ask where an item is every single time that I go in and they are EXTREMELY overpriced on merchandise. Thumbs up for small businesses. Thumbs way down for small businesses that price gouge. Save yourself $100 and just go to Lowes. This place is not worth it unless you simply want to be seen shopping there or you are looking for an impressive lawn ornament.

Great selection of products. purchased something on sale that rang up as full price. i didnt notice this until I got home, when I returned to get credit (just a few days later) I found that item was further reduced. Salesperson was very unapologetic about crediting me the difference and I had to ask for the further reduction that was reflected in new sale price. Salesperson didnt seem to understand that it was a real inconvenience for me to have to return to store for price adjustment. I was not grumpy towards the salesperson, mistakes happen, however, sales person didnt seem to have the customer service that I would expect from a neighborhood store.

Been to Rolliers more times than I can count on 20 hands and honestly, their service and knowledge is second to none. Sometimes certain items can been a bit high priced but not everything by any means. Also the time spent there with people who actually know what they are talking about and genuinely want to help is worth its weight in gold versus going to a big box store that you end up taking 5 trips back because you werent helped or helped properly to begin with. They also have speciality items that you cant get anymore in the larger stores...Love it!!!!
