Horrible!! I drove 1:45 to the Monroeville store to buy a bike. I had done a little research on which ones I was interested in. Chuck K. was at the downstairs desk and asked me a few questions, bike purpose, budget. We went upstairs and he pointed at bike and said that’s the one for you. I explained it wasn’t on my list and I asked what was different about it. He gave me a bunch of analogy’s about toilet paper and his top sales late year was the one he pointed at, and the ones on my list were only 1% of his sales last year. I asked if I could test ride one to see the difference, he said he wouldn’t do that. He stated the differences he spoke of could only be felt at 45 mph and he wouldn’t allow that. After almost walking out he realized he was losing the sale. He told me “if you feel you have done your research that he would be glad to unload one of the bikes on my list". My son-in-law and I made an excuse we had to have lunch just to get out of there. We drove to the Squirrel Hill store and what a 100% improvement. Kevin M. asked some of the same questions I was asked at the Monroeville store. He showed me a few bikes and explained the differences in details that are important to me. He picked one of the bikes from my list and one he recommended, tuned them and let me ride them both. I could tell the difference immediately, the one Kevin picked was perfect. He had me ride one more in the same style but difference size to make sure it fit. I’m the proud owner of a Giant, Anyroad 2 thanks to Kevin. Chuck convinced me he knows a great deal about bikes but not very much about customer concerns.

Beware of Pro Bikes of MONROEVILLE. I recently saved enough money to purchase a bike that most would consider high end ($2200). Upon visiting the Monroeville store "initially" the staff "seemed helpful". However after purchasing the bike it seemed as though I was no longer important enough to worry about. Being promised free service for the 1st 90 days. I took the bike in for service. It became immediately obvious that they try to milk the clock so as not have to do much of anything within your first 90 days. I took the bike to the Monroeville shop for what most would consider serious issues, one being poor braking. I told numerous staff members; including management. The bike was unsafe. I was blown off numerous times. Other times I brought the bike in for routine maintenance; it was obvious when I rode the bike afterwards the bike was no better than before bringing it in. It was as though nothing had been done. Finally Id had enough! I looked into contacting someone higher up within management. So I contacted Mike the Manager at the South Hills location. Mike immediately appologized for my bad experiences. Mike then said that he would take care of my issues. Mike followed through and did exactly as promised. In fact my bike functions better than the day I purchased it. Stay away from the Monroeville location at all costs. The South Hills location is Great; ask for Mike.

Had a pretty terrible experience at the Monroeville location. My girlfriend is looking to upgrade her bike, and lives not too far away so we stopped in. The gentleman who helped us had a pretty poor personality, coming off standoffish, pushy and rude. Ive been riding for a number of years now, so I did my research along with experience from riding myself, so off the bat telling us that we wouldnt find anything this good for less than $1,000? No, not hardly ESPECIALLY considering the bike she ended up getting not from Pro Bikes (side note Iron City bikes and REI were all VERY helpful and friendly, along with telling her to try bikes from all over...no pressure at all). Then when we asked if there was anything less he did pull down a bike but made sure to make it not sound very appealing, all while telling us/me that the riding Ive been doing is wrong since I dont use a cross bike (meanwhile actual experience proves entirely different). I have 2 stars here for the reason that I loved Elite Runners and Walkers when I was a runner in high school. However Ill be hard pressed to go back there, since theyre now part of Pro Bikes. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth for any of their locations. Youll be better served by a smaller shop thats less corporate like Iron City, Thick Bikes, West Liberty Cycles, etc.)

Horrible service. Went in with my daughter just to get her tire changed and their sales rep told me to go upstairs and someone would help me. He said this in front of all the other sales reps...OK so I go upstairs...no one is there. I patiently stand around waiting while this other sales rep that was just downstairs with me came upstairs and totally ignored me and let me just stand there waiting giving me dirty looks. Finally he says...What do you want? Im thinking Im standing here with a flat tire...uhm I need a tire changed. He then says itll take 3 days...I was floored, to change a tire? He said tires are hard to change. LOL!!!! OK never mind...we go back downstairs and the rep that told me to go upstairs said. Was he able to help you? I told him straight out, not at all! My daughter starts looking at their items for sale...first time I noticed they are WAAAYYY over priced. I told her we better just go I would never spend a dime there. So all around crappy. No compassion or empathy for the customer...they didnt care. To top it off bad price.

I bought my 2nd bike here today, a cannondale hard tail for my girlfriend, I also bought a specialized stump jumper evo model in May. The staff is very knowledgable and helpful, I have dealt with jordan, and the other manager there, a shorter guy who always wheres the short billed hat "cant remember his name!! They have been great to deal with, jordan extended the time past 90 days for my free tune up, and took the time to find a bolt I needed for my deraileur lever and give it to me. They also swapped out the tires for a wider set on the cannondale at no cost. I would definitely recommend this shop and I will definitely be buying a downhill bike there soon!

My husband and I walked in both looking for fat tire bikes. My husband weighs over 300 and is 64" and needs a sturdy bike. We were willing to spend around 2000 for some bikes but not one person acknowledged our existence. If your going to spend that amount of money on something you would think that someone would help you in your decision or at least say Hi. I wish I could give this place a zero we will be going to their competitors and Im sure they will have heard simalar stories. I dont know how you stay in business when you perform this poorly.

I have purchased bicycles over the years from this shop in their former and current locations in Squirrel Hill - unfortunately they are the only shop in Pittsburgh that carries certain bicycles because their service (and especially their attitude) has always been terrible - it is always a number of days to get service and they treat like they are doing a favor when they do take it to their "secret" service area in the back - avoid this business if at all possible
