This morning, I went to Limerick Hardware and purchased six vinyl number stickers for my mailbox for $8.84. When I tried to apply the first sticker, it ripped and part of the sticker bonded so securely to my mailbox that now I cant get it off. When I try to peel it off, the sticker breaks up into little pieces. I gave up and tried to return the rest of the stickers to Limerick Hardware within a half hour after the purchase. But the clerk told me that I could not have a cash refund without my receipt, even though the same clerk who had waited on me just minutes earlier was still there! Now I have to make a THIRD trip just to get an eight dollar refund. But it gets better. I proceeded to Home Depot, where I was able to purchase much higher quality aluminum numbers for half the price. I will drive back to Limerick Hardware with my receipt and get my refund, but that will be my last visit. I received an unusable product at an excessive price and no customer service. Sorry, Limerick Hardware, but youre 0 for 3. There is simply no reason to go back.

One of my favorite hardware stores. The staff are always helpful but not overbearing, and very friendly. Theyre knowledgeable, too, but never make me feel foolish for asking a simply question, unlike the staff at the big box stores. Their selection is excellent, too, especially for small parts. I dont think Ive ever left without the items I needed.

This store is a shining example of why doing business with small local businesses should be done wherever possible. The personalized help, and assistance of the entire store staff is awesome! And it is amazing that I can ALWAYS find what I need, the selection is definitely not limited. I am pleased to be a patron of this local business!

So disappointed that they have a $10. Min on credit / debit purchases. This is a inconvenience and they need to realize people dont carry cash anymore. The store might need to check with their credit card agreement policies.

The folks that work here have always been helpful with my questions. Its still nice to walk into a smaller place, find what I need quickly, and be on my way. Ive been in around 10 times. Theres also good beer next door.
