This review addresses only the service we received at the Lancaster, PA La-Z-Boy store. Upon entering the first time we received a friendly greeting from Melanie. She patiently listened as we told her what we were looking for. She showed us around the showroom so we could see the possibilities. We spent quite a bit of time with her during that first visit. Upon reflecting on what we saw we returned again and again as we are wary of making mistakes on a purchase of such importance. We were always warmly greeted with a smile as we proceeded to eat up more of her time trying to hone in on the pieces that would satisfy our needs. Melanie is relatively new to La-Z-Boy. Kudos to her for having the self confidence to ask her colleagues for counsel when she needed it. Thats a big deal! Sharp young woman. That projected confidence and commitment. When the time was right, she introduced us to Ashley. Ashley is a designer and showed us fabrics that might work in our room according to our tastes. We set up an appointment for her to visit our home to measure our room and use the La-Z-Boy computer program to create a virtual image of our room with our chosen sofa and recliners with the other features of the room to help us visualize the whole thing. She shared her expertise with color and room design to lead us along in the process toward a final purchase decision. We returned tonight to make our final selection and place an order. Ashley showed us complementary fabrics and even a carpet swatch to demonstrate how the two colors we had selected could indeed work well together. No quit in this gal. All details were attended to down to the color of the swivel bases. Her patience and resolve paid off as we did indeed place an order tonight. Now we need to paint the rooms in preparation for the new furnitures arrival. This experience is what quality customer service is all about. We are grateful to both Melanie and Ashley for shepherding us along to a final purchase decision!

I had a good experience with the personnel at the store on Harrisburg Pike. The sales prices were reasonable. But, how would I know. The last time I bought furniture was 25 yrs. ago.The charges to deliver surprised me because most people deliver their product free of charge or at least its not put on paper as such. The charges they charged for protecting the surface was OK, if they actually follow through with that warranty to the maximum I may need. The largest complaint is the color of my couch. I had an excellent sales lady after we had a discussion about the color " gray ". I did not want anything but true shades of gray. I hate brown with a passion. We bought my husband a gray lazy boy rocker with a little blue thread in it and I said OK to that but my couch had to be a pure gray color. The company calls it Silver. I am telling you it is a taupe gray. My wall is a Tinsmith paint on brick- think about it. That is a gray. My neighbor said my couch is a tannish gray. There should be no such color. The chair I bought to go with it will not much when I put them together. I bought the chair which is on display right now-red leaf with dark gray and silver leaf pattern. They will never match. I hope the store will work with me still. My opinion might change about it being OK. Only the style of the couch was on the floor, but the color was on the picture in the display. I need to see that fabric again. I would NEVER picked anything that was close to brown, tan, ivory. Had that for a long time. I need a change big time.

The amount of time I spent dealing with La-z-boy in the last five months I could have paid the furniture off with a second job. It is borderline criminal to charge you 50% deposit and then not deliver furniture or in my case a rug for 5 months. After complaining to the local store, then to corporate who told me "they couldnt help me because it wasnt furniture I had the problem with" In in the end I received a call from the owner Frank Hager Jr. who proceeded to talk down to me and called me an A $ $ hole repeatedly. I am certain Frank wouldnt want my husband to call Alyssa and verbally abuse her. The employees follow the leader which lack any sort of class. My recommendation is to only buy from one of these stores if it is in stock now. Read other reviews on face book and twitter and you will see I am not the only person to have waited 5 months for something that was never coming in the first place. Lesson learned never again.

Walked into store and was greeted by a friendly salesman. He showed models, fabric etc. However, when the chair arrived at the house the footrest would not rise more than 3" off the floor. Thee back tilted foirward so I refused the chair and told the deliverymen that I did not want the chair repaired, that I wanted a brand new chair. I was told I would receive a call from the salesman. I called the salesrep and was told he would check into it and call me back. This happened on Wednesday, as of today, Friday at 5:30pm I did not received a call back so I call the salesrep and was told the way he understood the procedure to work, the chgasir would be returned to the vwarehouse in New Jersey. It would be looked over to see if it could be repaired. If they could repair it that would be done, if not then they would build a new chair. NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Watch out for misleading sales practices La-Z-Boy Stores!! I originally went in the store because of a flyer for a $349 chair, so I thought we could get a good priced chair. However, a slightly bigger chair was more comfortable and we were told it was $500. Well guess what we got to the register to buy the chair and the final price for that $500 chair was $718 (before tax) with all their extra charges. So we selected a slightly smaller chair for $489 - but the final price for that was $639.97 (Before tax). Ok, so $60 of that was for a higher base, but honestly I think very few people would be comfortable with their standard base as it is it is very low. My Dad is very average height. Oh if you want it delivered that would be another $69.99 + tax!!

As soon as my husband and I walked in, we were welcomed with a friendly greeting. We explained what we were looking for and the employee showed us 3 sets that were reasonably priced and exactly what we wanted. After we made our decision, it was very quick and easy to make the purchase. O was expecting pressure and a long process as Ive never purchased brand new furniture before. I would totally recommend them. Also, it didnt help us in this case, but they do heat competitor pricing!

You can order furniture here and pay for it quickly. What you cant do is receive it when they tell you youll have it. 6 weeks turned into 3.5 months. Thanks but no thanks. We cancelled our order and well never go back.
