Hoot Owl reminds me of the little convenience shops in the country. Its a little hole in the wall store where I go for emergency creamer runs and the occasional beer. Every time I go there I can expect to see the store owners who are charmingly talkative with me. I almost always come home with stories of Asia, massage, Chinese medicine and the talk of the town - new buildings, weather and such. Since its a small family run business the prices are probably a little higher than your average 7-11. They dont have an entire aisle devoted to over the counter medications and condoms. They dont have a Slurpee machine. The only thing I wish they had would be organic milk... but then, thats not really what a convenience store is about. They DO have Ben & Jerrys. :) Id much rather have the little Hoot Owl than a run of the mill chain store.

Despite the fact that the owner/proprietor is not a native English speaker, he and his family are great hosts when you visit their store. Parking can be a pain due to the proximity to the Cider Mill restaurant and bar but nothing of worry for a quick stop. Selection may be limited but they have all the essentials (and more). There is even a collection of Chinese calligraphy for sale, all artfully done by the owner himself. He has even offered to do custom calligraphy work for the right price. All in all, a great stop for a 6-pack of beer or a box of aluminum foil that may have been forgotten on the way to the cook-out in the park.

For the first time in 3 years I was charged a fee for using my debit card after the owner tried to over charge me for milk. No offense but as a loyal customer I request a note posted somewhere of the new fee since yesterday. Also, with the young men employed there last year and the owner with his videos, Ive see a few things that probably should NOT be public and I would never let me kids shop there alone.

I go here all the time! I love it here the lady that works here is always lovely. She is so sweet and her husband is nice too but very rarely seen. If your looking for a small place to stop for a snack or a drink they have you covered! But if you looking for this they WILL card you EVERYTIME for ANYTHING age restricted even if she knows you and has seen your Id 1000 times.

The owners are very polite and helpful, and the selection is great for a small corner store. The only complaint i have is their hours 9-9:30 they open pretty late and close relatively early, it would be nice to be able to get a late night snack without wasting gas or walking a few miles. Otherwise this store is one of my favorite

Great little local corner shop that stands out from the regular convenience store. Ive always been greeted by a smile every time. Very nice Asian couple who run the place. Ive even walked in on the gentleman singing Elvis a few times.

A little mom and pop store that offers more than just convenience. The owner/cashier is always friendly whenever I stop by. The price is a little bit lower than the neighborhood stores as well.
