Absolutely DO NOT use their tire changing service. They are severely under qualified. They did not properly install my valve stem twice leaving a severe leak. They left me stranded with a flat tire once and ruined the paint all around my rim. I called them about it and they denied the damage and just said "bring it in well fix it" about the leaky valve stem. They never offered me any form of compensation for leaving me stranded on the side of the road. Frankly I wouldnt let them touch my wheels with a 10 foot stick. Take it to Beaverton motorcycles and have them do the tires on with them on the bike and theyll lube/tension your chain and wash your bike all for $10 more than cycle gear. They receive 3 stars because their storefront is actually pretty decent. Very clean but overcrowded if anything. They seem to have lots of stock of name brand and cheaper brands which is nice considering lots of other places only carry one or the other. Prices are on par with other stores and they have a large website as well. To reiterate: DO NOT USE THEIR TIRE CHANGING SERVICE.

Great place to get beginner/starter gear cheap. You get what you pay for here, so if you can spend more, get somewhere with a decent return policy. They used to be well worth the trip because of their awesome return policy but they changed owners & the new owner doesnt honor the return policy when you purchased your gear. You now have to have a receipt whereas before they could just look you up in their system. Knowing this, you wouldnt have saved your receipt, so they deleted out all of the old records & basically just deny any legitimate returns that were made before this "cleansing." Im sure theres more hidden catches to this new policy, so beware & ask questions before you purchase & get names to hold them accountable. And save your receipt because the gear WILL fail. The service has ranged from excellent to "too busy to care" so it really just depends on the worker that day. I havent had great experiences since the buyout.

How to loose a customer. I went in to have some tires installed on my daily commuter. Salesperson asked if I bought them at C.G. No. It would cost $50 a wheel, but if I had, then it would only cost $25/wheel. Oh, and there is a two week wait. Well thats great! Thanks for telling me that. Next time I know to buy my tires at C.G. or you will make me pay a 100% premium. What was the purpose in telling me that? Did you honestly think that had any bearing on the current situation, that imparting that little jab was helpful in any way? What, was I supposed to return my tires and reorder them through C.G? Based on your obscene lead time, I guess I had time to do that. How about you keep your service and your passive-aggressive comments.

First of all dont ever ever ask for mechanical advice and never ask them for a part that you cant confirm for yourself is the correct one. I went in for a chain and sprocket and they were the wrong one so I returned the chain and got another sprocket from then and yet again wrong one! So again went back and come to find out they didnt even have the one I wanted. I had to leave my bike at the local shop over the weekend because some kid who knows crap about motorcycles couldnt tell me he does not know jack about what hes talking about and come to find out they make commission of what they sell so he prob was trying to make his sales for the week . I could go on but I think you get the idea

Great selection in the store, and the staff is as helpful as they can be for the size of the store. I recently went to the bike night. Great people showed, but was disappointed in the execution of the event. I was expecting maybe some music, even if through a boom box... none. The email stated there would be raffles and prizes.... None. They should have just said Bike Meetup... and ended it there.. I still would have gone just to say hi to everyone. I hate it when a business puts out an expectation, and then fails to meet it. I like the store.... But you guys should hire someone willing to pull through on your planned events.

I moved to Portland from Columbus, Ohio last year. One of the hardest things about the move was the fact that I wouldnt be 10 minutes away from Iron Pony, probably the largest motorsports store in the US. I found out about Cycle Gear and a few days later I took a trip to get oil and filter for my next change. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection from a much smaller store and the great help. Selection, help, and prices are all very good and Im glad I have a new go-to for the majority of my motorcycle needs

These guys have no conscience. They sell Seven Zero Seven helmets with fake DOT stickers on the back and dont warn you. I was told that even though I was getting a helmet that was on sale, it said DOT on the back so it was totally safe. I was laughed at by my Team Oregon instructor when I showed him the sticker. He said it was a total fake and I should have done better research. Lesson learned. Don't trust the guys at Cycle Gear. They don't care about your safety.

I have been to there store several times over the last few weeks! They are always willing to help you with any questions. I am new to having a bike and I tend to ask a lot about things when they are new to me. Im sure they may have gotten annoyed with me as I would in there shoes. But the key here is they never let me see that lol. I have been to several shops around town and the guys here by far have made me a life long customer!

Made it to Cycle gear at opening on Sunday. Had the Tire I desperately needed. Thank you. Bad news is they couldnt spare any time to help a stranded motorcyclist get the tire replaced(mounted and balanced). 20 mins to help a guy in a tough spot. I run a service department, We try very hard to help those customers that are stuck. Not a big job, just a small one. Got it figured out elsewhere. Recommend for the most part.

Went to get some gear wanted pink of some sort, all they had were youth and like a size three, so an employee went to the back and pulled a pair my size and the colors I wanted score right? Wrong apparently they were returns and they couldnt make a tag so I could purchase them... Confusing right? Yeah. and I literally stood around waiting for some help and no one would talk to me... The selection was poor for the females.
