Hopson Review

Without contest, Sundance is the best health food store in Eugene. A delightfully laid back, cozy grocery that covers all the bases, and as a bonus, has an actually decent, entirely organic hot and cold food bar – which has half-off pricing at the end of the day too! (For folks who dont yet know: Whole Foods hot and cold bars are almost never organic and are generally far from it.) The produce section at Sundance is exceptionally strong, boasting a diverse (and again, all organic) selection including many otherwise hard-to-find things like glasswort and Grimes Golden apples. And then, of course, their very well-stocked discount produce shelf limits waste and provides for those on tighter budgets (though they could certainly stand to be marked down quite a bit more, especially considering the condition of some items). Their bulk selection is extensive, taking up a good percentage of the store, with items ranging from basic grains to vanilla extract. Very refreshing to see that the majority of their bulk herbs come from Mountain Rose Herbs, a local Eugene-based company & one of our absolute favourites. Other highlights are: unforced hippie vibes, vinegar being featured in the housecleaning section, a better-than-average kombucha selection, a well-curated body care department, and fresh local baked goods up by the registers.

Lively local market with quality foods and beverages. The produce department is especially loved for its local and organic selection as well as its daily discounted items. Sundance also has an extensive holistic health and beauty section, which will meet your needs for basic aches and pains and much more. The bulk herbs section is also something to behold. Note that Sundance doesnt sell animal products, but the the stores makes it worth a regular visit for local food lovers. They also have a great beer and wine selection, and have recently opened a dedicated wine store a short walk away.

A girl who works here asked very invasive questions about my service animal. She even implied that my dog is an emotional support dog, when she is a service dog. I know the rules. Even though my disability is of the psychiatric variety, it doesnt mean she is not a legitimate service dog. Having that called into question is offensive. I dont mind telling you she is working right now, but I do mind having to *convince* you. You shouldnt have asked what my disability is. Even if you cant see it, it is there.

Good prices for great, local and organic produce, great bulk herb section from Mountain Rose Herbs, and a good selection of other fairly priced, health oriented shelf-items. I would like to see the supplement section be slimmed down to only whats good, i.e. the only cod liver oil worth shelving is Green Pastures.

Friendly staff, fair prices, impressive bulk section, incredible vitamin and health section! Even a hot bar and good local brews in the fridge. How do they fit everything in that place? The distressed produce shelf is half-off price, but full quality. Seriously the best grocery I could ever dream of.

Love the food bar after 8:00PM half price on hot plates .. It does go fast as lots of people lined up for their dinner ..Always 3 soups on rotation along with rice and quinoa ... Place is nice and clean with plenty of cashiers .. Who are way qualified for the position Open 7AM to around 11PM

First, I should mention the bar and its wide selection of wines. In fact, Bistro 45 is a great place to stop in and have a cocktail before or after a movie. I have had both dinners and a catered dinner for a wedding celebration. The menu is excellent and the service is way above the average.

This place feels like home. Quality, caring, nourishing foods and environment. I love how they are constantly trying to source the BEST for their customers, and putting most of what they make back into the community. Love the salad bar, and the "go to" spot for culinary inspiration.

One of My favorite local natural grocery stores. I live back in Portland now and nothing compares! I miss the eclectic and diverse variations their salad bar/deli has to offer! 4/5 because theres always something better, I havent found one better yet however.

Simply the best OG food store in town. Lovely wine and beer selection. Excellent hot bar and salad bar. Check out their distressed discounted produce section facing the back wall. After 8:30pm the hot bar items are 50% off!

I love this store, because its open early and its open late. I also love the half off produce and the hot foods bar. I definitely recommend visiting this grocery store if you are visiting Eugene or living in Eugene.

It is a nice small market where you can get local and organic food. They have a great bulk section. They dont have very many options since they are small but they have good stuff.

Great bulk section. The hot and cold bar from Ratatouille is outstanding, and the hot bar is half-off at night. This place is open until 11pm which makes it a valued resource.
