This is where I buy groceries although Haggens, Market of Choice and Safeway are about the same distance for me, and Sundance is closer. Capella has superior service including a full meat counter and both vegetarian and meat deli counters; seasonal samplers (in late fall I tried all twenty-odd varieties of apples that they were selling, and Ive enjoyed their similar winter citrus festival); an on-hand supplements staffer; a knowledgeable wine steward; and close attention paid to keeping checkout lines short by bringing staff up front when needed. There is a wide selection of quality organic produce and almost as much "commercial" (not organic) produce, and an adequate bulk food section. The only thing I wont buy there because of pricing is pasta; prices are otherwise competitive. The 10% senior discount is great!

I was riding my bike in the neighborhood and thought that it would be nice to see what capella market was like because I had never been there before and have been living in Eugene for some time now, getting mostly everything at Sundance down the street. I was turned off the moment I entered the store because it feels like a supermarket or yuppie-Whole foods. I was however interested in their deli, but before I could grab something, I was told that my bike was not allowed in the store and I had to leave. Didnt have my bike key today, but Capella didnt care they just wanted me out. For a healthfood store in Eugene they were very rude about a bike. Thanks for nothing Capella I wont be supporting you in the future.

Thank goodness for Capella Market! I care about where my food comes from and how it is grown, raised, and processed. From this perspective I adore Cappella Market. This store packs in more quality per square foot than any other market in Eugene. The buyers are very sharp. The emphasis is clearly on sustainable, humane and organic. From Meats and Dairy to Produce, from Olive oil to Wine and Craft Brews, to Artisan Baking, Coffee, Best of all the prices are very reasonable for the level of quality offered, in each department. Yes, PC has more of eveything, in every department, and is quite stylish, but do you really need 16 brands of Paper towels to choose from? For FOOD, think Capella.

This is my go-to grocery store; excellent meats and veggies, great size to browse everything I need. Their hot case is extremely affordable for the quality of meal you can get (Tip: ask for free wild or white rice with your meal.. Im paid $2-5 on a filling meal of a roast or rice or chicken on rice with a side). I often come for the soup (ask for a side of crackers) or write up a sandwich order. Ive been a long time shopper and many of the employees have been there a long time too. Its nice to encounter many friendly faces and they know what theyre doing.

If you ever are craving a good sandwich, go to Capella and get the half sandwich for only 4 bucks! Its not even really half, they just cut the corner off. This is coming from an ex deli monkey, and consider myself to be deli snob... haha. Oh and when I came in with my bike (forget the lock that day), I asked a worker how they could help. They got a manager and locked the bike up with a chain and lock used for the carts overnight! Produce is pricey, but totally worth it, considering the organic and sustainable practices used to make it.

I love this stores deli! They make the best sandwiches and offer a ton of healthy products. The staff are really nice and there are usually people who own startups that come here to offer samples to try which helps our community. My only complaint: some products can be a little expensive.

I have lived in Eugene for the past 40 years. This store is the best example for this type of market. It is well run, the staff are helpful and nice. The prices for most shelf items and bulk are significantly better than Market of Choice, The Kiva or Sundance. A great place to shop!!

I came in today to buy some groceries for my grandma. After picking up the homeopathic remedies she had on hold I proceeded to the deli where I was treated horribly by their staff working the counter. I am extremely disapointed and will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

The service counters toward the back of the store have a lot to choose from and the aroma is amazing! We tried the salmon and rice (free rice with hot item purchase!) and the frittatas, all very good. Small, tight parking spaces but worth the trip.

Very liberal, and yet well run (and not rude!)... a surprisingly good example of what Eugene can be when it gets beyond its usual selfish (and rampantly unhygienic) "culture". The sandwiches in the back are a great custom-order deal, too.

Great store! Good prices, high quality, good selection, super friendly and helpful staff, convenient and surprisingly tasty ready-to-go prepared foods, lots of house-made items. Really, just the best. Thanks Capellas!

Love this store. Their deli and hot bar is a hidden gem in this town! Free wild or white rice with anything from the hot case makes any snack into a meal. Consistently better priced than the big guy down the road.

A wonderful place that has lots of organic choices. The widest selection in organic herbs in town. Great fresh produce and is worth the higher price on most. A very select deli with lots of yummy stuff.

I wanted to give Capellas another chance after I voiced my concerns about the delis lack of basic food safety, but after last nights extended bout of vomiting, I have to say Im done and this is not ok

I love that Cappellas has phenomenal quality fruits, local vegetables, a delicious deli, and is the easiest store to park in. 6 minutes in and out with dinner and a great bottle of wine.

Pretty good, but if you want advice for supplements, go to SunDance. The people here can only tell you where it is located on the shelf -- they have no idea about nutrition, herbs, etc.

Great beer selection. Quality meats. Hot bar is limited but tasty. The butcher I spoke with was very helpful and definitely knew what he was talking about. Quality produce as well.

This is a great little store, cool employees, and they care about local food and community support. I try to steer here as much as I can rather than hitting Markup of Choice.

Best build your own sandwiches in town! A half is as big as a whole at any other place. Friendly staff, great health food, a few nice outdoor tables to sit at.

Shopped here for years. Love the staff, many of whom have been there for years. If you want to shop local and find a decent selection, this is a good spot.
