In Ashland, you get accustomed to dealing with businesses that operate with a certain level of integrity and ethics. Thats why its all the more astonishing to encounter a business like this one. My wife and I recently purchased a latex mattress topper from Ashland Home Center. Because it was a floor model, we got it for a discounted price. Per the salesmans assurances and the receipt he gave us, the topper came with a 20 year warranty. When we brought the topper home, we unzipped it from the cover and discovered that it the latex was severely damaged, including tears up to 6 inches in length and chunks of latex literally falling off. When we contacted Ashland Home Center, we received a return call from the owner who informed us that they would not take it back because "its a floor model" and basically you get what you get when you buy one from his store. He explained that the topper was really probably okay, and anyway that it was covered under the aforementioned warranty. They probably didnt expect that we would actually call the manufacturer to check about the warranty, but we did. The manufacturers representative informed us that floor models are not actually covered under the warranty and that wed been lied to. We called Ashland Home Center back to resolve the problem. Again, we reached the owner who denied all responsibility and wrong-doing, stated that they never check their products before selling them, and reiterated that floor models are sold as-is. When I mentioned that we had a receipt with the warranty explicitly listed on it as well as a voicemail recording from him confirming the warranty, he sputtered, backtracked, and finally agreed to let us return the item. When we brought the topper back, he was in the office and was not AT ALL happy to see us. He refused to look us in the eye and was as cold as ice, but ultimately did refund our money.

We bought a $6000 mattress that we had tried but over the course of the year, we did not like it. We came back and bought another $2000 mattress that we liked a lot better on the condition they would resell our original one, which was the promise when we bought it. After the owner (Josh?) telling us when we had originally bought it that we could always get $2000 if we resold it there, when we brought it back for the new one, he told us HE could get $2000 and we would only get $1000. About 3-4 months later, I called to see what happened. The salesman there told me it had been sold. I asked why the check hadnt been sent and to please do so. I got back about three weeks later and still no check so I went in. It turns out the owner had sold it about a month before my call and the check was there in the desk drawer--for $500!! The salesman told me that he couldnt sell it for $2000, that he could only get $1000 so the owner just did it. He NEVER even called me to see if it was okay, and of course he NEVER even bothered to send the check. This is a hustler scam artist posing as a loving Christian businessman. That would be a joke if he wasnt costing us so much time and money with his lies and unethical behavior.

If I was going to buy a bed in Ashland, this is where Id go. They were helpful and friendly, showing us the different attributes of the different beds and even telling us where we could go to buy things they didnt offer when we asked. They were also friendly. They were certainly MUCH BETTER than a certain furniture store down the street which would barely give us the time of day and wouldnt show us a picture of one of the frames because "you know what it looks like."

Really disappointed with the (lack of) customer service. I bought a range with an estimated delivery time of one week. I called them back two weeks later and they said the product had got damaged on the way - no explanation as to why I wasnt notified. They said theyd call me back with the new ETA. Having not heard from them, I called two days later to discover it would be weeks before the order would be in. After numerous further calls, I cancelled the order.

I bought the Pure Latex Bliss Beautiful mattress and could not be happier! The buying experience was simple, the staff were very helpful, and the mattress is the most comfortable weve ever had. I only wish we would have done this sooner!
