My wife and I visited this store in worthington today, and we both ended up buying a pair of running shoes each. First we were greeted by one of the associates. He was very polite and explained the process we will go through to select our shoes. I was asked to step on some machine "pad" that shows how the foot weight is distributed and how high the foot arches are. I had fairly high arches based on the infrared type image on the tv. Next I was asked to run on a treadmill at a jogging pace, this was videotaped also and the associate went over my frame and gait with me. Even though based on my internet research I thought I was supinating, he showed me clearly that I was overpronating and also that my foot was collapsing on impact. Based on these discussions, he suggested several shoes and I ended up buying the Sauconys Progrid Paramount 2 shoes. I just ran six miles in my new shoes and they were a dream. The whole experience was amazing, overall the sales person spent around 1 hour with me and my wife, I mean in this day and age who does that. He was extremely knowledgeable and did not try to push me into buying shoes. Infact, early on when my wife was ready to buy the second pair she tried on, he suggested that she try on more shoes to be comfortable. Roadrunner has a VIP program that costs $20 per year and will give your 10% off of your purchase. For us, the $20 cost of program was evened out by the 10% off, so we went for it. We were also told that you can try the shoes and return them back for refund with in 60 days if something broke down or they didnt fit properly. Overall, this has been an amazing shopping experience, and one of the few places where the customer is definitely king. Road runner sports has definitely made us customers for life.

I just visited the store for the first time. I had always seen it from the freeway, but it was the Groupon that got me in the store. Not really knowing what to expect, I went in to get some advice on taking care of my plantar fascitis and learn about my feet in general. I expected them to know what they were talk ing about, and they certainly did. They have top of the line diagnostic tools that they used to video tape your feet/stride and analyze what products might be best for your specific needs. I had never seen myself in stride like that and the employee, Esteban, really broke things down for me, explaining the mechanics with technical terms, all the while making sure I understood what he was describing. After this process I they custom molded insoles for me and sent me over to the other associate, Brian. After Esteban explained to Brian my reasons for coming in and the findings from the "Shoe Dog" analysis, Brian was able to provide me with multiple recommendations on quality shoes. I never felt pressured to buy shoes, almost the opposite since they knew really came in for the analysis and insoles. I ended up getting everything I wanted to get an more, and the $6 tool they recommended for my plantar fascitits works great. Needless to say I am now a VIP member with Road Runner.

If I could rate them a negative star I would. Ordered a pair of shoes, received a completely different pair of shoes, called and confirmed that I had ordered the correct pair of shoes, sent said shoes back, 3 weeks later still never received a refund, called and was told that I could not get a refund until shoes arrived (shoes had to have been delivered by this point), insisted on a refund, which I received for about $10 less than the purchase price. Called again, and was told that I needed to go through a couple more steps... I will never deal with these people again. Nobody knew what was going on, everybody wanted to point the finger at me, when they didnt get the order right the first time. Prices arent even that great and I hate the idea of VIP where we can automatically and hopefully without your notice charge your credit card periodically.

I return to Road Runner when I need an update on my running shoes. I have high arches and a foot injury so the custom insoles go a long way in providing comfort while I run. This last visit led me to met Chris Au. What a great fit expert. He took the time making my insoles as well as introducing me to a new shoe concept that I did not know about. He told me about Altra brand and the science behind it. I ended up with a different pair that day. However when I got home the insole did not fit quite right. I returned the next day and Chris made it right. I was also so curious about the Altra shoe so I made an exchange! It was easy to try something new because Chris was very knowledgeable about the brand. It was great working with Chris! Maybe Ill see him again for my next pair of Altras!

They do a good job of analyzing the type of shoe you need based on how you run and the arch of your foot. But, they try and up sell you on everything and make it hard to say no when it comes to purchasing their custom made insoles that were specially made for your feet and also the VIP membership. The good news is that you can return the merchandise and cancel the membership if you arent happy but the cash register staff is unfriendly. I returned the insoles and a pair of shorts and the person working at the cash register was very friendly to the family in front of me but quiet and not so friendly to me. I had to assume it was because I was getting my money back. Its good to know what kind of shoes I need but they are the same shoes that can be purchased anywhere else.

I drove 25 minutes to get some new shoes. Was in the store about 15 minutes without so much as a hello from an employee. There were 3 other shoppers in the shoes department. When an employee asked if I needed help, I made sure to ask if the other customers ahead of me had been taken care of. His response was "its fine ". No, its not find if they were here before me. He then told me the only other staff member here was helping the other three customers, one who had already complained to me about her 30 minute wait. I dont mind a wait for the service the provide with shoe buying but refuse to support this kind of customer service. They need some training and a reminder to at least smile and pretend you dont hate your job.

A friend and I came in so I could be analyzed, said friend had been there previously to be analyzed. R.J did a spectacular job explaining the process and what he was analyzing. Following that, another employee, mike, assisted with finding the right shoe for me. My friend and I were there for almost 2.5 hours and not once did we feel any pressure. We felt like their attention was devoted to the both of us. I left with insoles custom for my feet and new shoes and she left with a pair and we couldnt be happier. We would recommend this place to anyone!
