We adopted a dog from a local shelter and needed to get some basics, as our previous dog was much smaller and her old leashes and collars wouldnt fit the new pup. We were also looking for the food that the shelter fed him, to avoid digestive problems. The store was clean and well organized, but the employees were incredibly rude. We found the appropriate leash and harness without much difficulty, but we werent greeted even though the store was mostly empty. Then we began looking for the dog food. After searching for a few minutes, we asked an employee (who was busy having a conversation with another employee) if they carried that particular brand. He replied, very rudely, that they would probably never carry it due to the recalls it had in the past. We then explained that we just adopted the dog an hour earlier, and wanted to prevent digestive issues. He then walked away briefly and came back with a pack of probiotics to add to his food, and asked what we were planning on feeding him. We told him that both of our past dogs ate Beneful by Purina. He then scoffed, and said on a very pretentious tone, "Well, thats not much better." He attempted to show us other brands of dog food, but they were beyond out of our price range. Needless to say, because of that, my fiance and I will never shop there again. Associates should never demean customers for living on a budget. It was a horrible experience, and I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

I took my two dogs to get their nails clipped at the grooming salon. I normally go to a different grooming salon, but they were closed today so I stopped at the Petco in Toledo, Ohio. Never will I go there again. My first dog has had his nails cut many times before without an issue, and has never whined or cried. This time, however, he kept crying and whining while she was cutting his nails. This already worried me a bit. Then, while the worker was cutting the nails of my other dog, I heard her say, "Oops, that was a little short." I look to see a pool of blood forming underneath my dogs back paw. The worker explained that this is normal sometimes, but Ive never had this experience before. When I looked at my dogs nail, it was clipped almost down to her paw. I was so upset, and my dog was so stressed and scared, so I told her to stop what she was doing and I would take my dog somewhere else some other time to finish the clipping. I will never subject my dogs to that experience again.

The tank that the bearded dragons were in was just absolutely terrible. There was poop everywhere, the poop was runny and tinged yellow which means that the dragons are no in good health. Some of them have tail rot, and the majority looked undernourished. And the temp? For dragons that size they should have a basking spot of at least 100-110, but the temp of the tank? It was only 90! Another thing is the water level in the water dishes are too high! They could easily drown.. The sales associates seems disinterested and when trying to ask a simple question they just continue walking and will partly answer the question while not even looking at you. The ferrets area was also very upsetting. Half of them looked sick and also malnurished. The quality of pets is always a concern when considering buying one and with the care they are receiving, their quality is unfortunately extremely low. This store is one that I will not visit again.

I went to Petco all the time in Vero Beach Fl. so it seemed natural to continue when I moved here to Ohio. Totally different experience. The staff was not friendly, I wasnt asked if I needed assistance, truthfully I was ignored. I had checked the website to be sure of the hours for groomimg before I left the house. When I arrived in Petco I was told they were booked up through Monday. ( This was Saturday.) I felt something should have been posted on their website to save myself and others from a wasted trip. Well, not totally wasted. I dont think Ill be back after seeing that group of staff.

Bought a ferret from Monroe street location and was sick. Was told when i purchased the ferret that it has a 15 day guarantee and vet bills were covered. The day after I purchased it I called and said I was taking him to the vet and they said it isnt covered and i have to bring the animal back for a refund or exchange. Sorry I purchased the one I wanted and they claimed to pay the vet bills for 15 days. Not exchange it like hes a defective appliance and probably just put him down. Sorry petco Ill pay the vet bills for your lack of care to the animals you sell.

Its not one of my favorite stores to go to. The staff is okay, but often dont ask if you need help and honestly avoid you if they can. I took my dog there once for the grooming services and told them not to touch his nails, (he doesnt like the clipping). When I went to pick him up, my bill was over $40, when the bath and blow out should have only been around $25. They did his nails with their dremel tool and charged me more to do it. That was the last time I took him there for any kind of grooming service, I do it at home now myself.

I have 2 ShihTzus. I have been going there every 4-5 weeks for the past 2 yrs. The last 6 months has been awful. Krystal was great; but, she left in December. My dogs tail got cut when I left instructions not to touch it. My dogs ear was cut uneven. Then Trishia was requested and she was great; but, she left in June. Yesterday the hair on one of my dogs head was so uneven it was unbelievable. I dont think the groomers there now really care and neither does the management.

Good selection of pet products. Cant say their prices are the most competitive, but they do have good variety. Like to take my dog for a shopping trip and let her pick out a toy or treat. Pet friendly staff and store. Groomer is a little pricey, but they do a decent job and are very convenient. Store is in a good location to stop at or get to other places while waiting for your dog to get groomed.

The groomers here are amazing. They always remember the pups, treat them like they were their own, and always make sure they cone out looking great. We have been taking Buster and Jenna there for years and will be hard pressed to find someone as good when we move out of state. Thank you for years of amazing service and treating our pups with love.

We just left Petco w/a hamster for my daughter. Lisa was extremely friendly and helpful! She offered help with picking our hamster, finding food/bedding/cage, and utilizing current discounts/coupons!!!! We are over the moon happy with our experience!!!Grwat customer service thanks to Lisa and staff.

We take our dogs here for grooming, and while it certainly isnt upscale, it suits our needs just fine. The prices are reasonable and we can usually get a weekend appointment as long as we call a few days ahead.
