I have new had 3 bad experiences using the tool repair at Hartville Hardware. !. The "register" your tools when you buy them there. Yet when my 2 Paslode nailers were stolen 2 years later, I asked them to not the serial # in case they were brought in for repair. Said they didnt have them. 2. Had 2 Paslode guns repaired and cleaned. Went to use a little over 2 months later and they both didnt work. Took back. Was charged again. One was due to fuel cylinder not engaged, but he was a new tech and didnt check it first and didnt read it had just been repaired. Second needed a part that was not put in the first time. And that tech was no longer with them. Wrote to management and my letter was ignored. 3. Bought a new Makita screw gun that was only introduced by the company 60 days ago. It failed after 9 hours of use. Hartville calls me 2 weeks later and says it is not under warranty because it was bought in 2010. I pointed out that the product was just put on the market 60 days ago and I bought other tools in 2010, not a screw gun. They said send them a receipt and they will get the part ordered. I pointed out there is a 3 year warranty on Makita, so order the part now and I will email the receipt to them. Very poor service. I will not use them again and have so informed Makita of this problem. No way to get thru to management by email or phone. Uncaring company After publishing this, I did receive a call from Hartville Hardware, and after explaining what happened with my Paslode guns, they have agreed to refund the labor charge the second time they came in. I appreciate that. I only wish that when there is a problem, you can discuss it with someone who can make a decision instead of a clerk that although they understand say their hands are tied. So the Paslode problem is solved. Hopefully, the new Makita screw gun will be repaired soon, since it is going on 4 weeks since it was brought in for service.

You need a _____ Fill in the blank - they are they old type hardware store that tries to carry quality... Power and Hand Tools - come on - I dont think there is any place in america with a better selection of word working stuff - period. Grill - you would think you went to one of those specialty shops - TWICE. Vacuum - huh? they have in stock just about everything - including the parts... Nuts & Bolts (MY FAVORITE)... Bring in what you need and one of the three working that area WILL find it for you!!!! Not sure what you need - describe or show a picture and they will work it through with you. YETI - I held out for the 20oz tumbler (have the 32) and NO ONE carried it... They have the ENTIRE line of YETI - IN STOCK. Outdoor equip (Mowers, chainsaws, etc...) Parts - I cannot even think of anything remotely close to what they have. Most of the counter guys have memorized the majority of the P/N!!! Most of the department-ed folks have been there a while and they DO want to help. Highest regards. Are they $.08 more expensive than Lowes for a particular part - might be - but that $.08 doesnt go to the coffers of the greedy and rich - it stays in OHIO supporting local people. Why 4 stars and not 5... two reasons... First - the mailed coupon (5 off 25) - now that I moved out of Hartville, I cant get it - and I might be a bit upset, as Im less than 5 min further now - but cant get the mailer... Second - Weekend/Holiday... If you venture there on a Saturday or holiday - be prepared - the population of Hartville doubles on those days because of them - and there is nothing more fun than a hundred tourists driving...

This place is huge! It is way bigger than your average Lowes or Home Depot. The staff are very friendly and the workers in every department seem like experts and know what they are talking about. The store claims to sell only American made products but I have my doubts (Are Dyson vacuums made in America? They sell those.) The upper floor contains departments from power tools to gardening to lighting to kitchen appliances. The upper floor also contains a full-size one story idea house. If you are thinking of building a house, this might give you an idea. There are also idea centers set up within a line of row houses in the back of the store. The lower floor contains building materials and large tool rental. If you are looking to build or remodel a house and use nothing but American made materials, tools, and other items, this is the place to go!

First, Their new showroom is enormous. To compare this to a Home Depot or Lowes is like comparing a Cabelas to Gander Mtn. Theres an idea house inside the store. The second is the service. Always someone around, that knows more than a thing or two. They follow your project question with another to make sure youve thought of everything. They stock what the others special order. They delivered wood and TimberTech deck planks the day after we finalized the materials list. 16 and 18 foot boards. In Stock. The only knock is that theyre closed on Sunday when Im working on the yard and need something.

I started going there 11 years ago when we first moved to the area. It was 1/2 hour away but was the only place I could pick up a rental sander at a convenient time for my work schedule. Once there I was hooked. I told my family that I had found the Heartthrob Hardware Store. The old store was great, the new one is better. Hugh variety of tools and most everything one needs for home, farm and contracting. We take visitors there for the experience. Ill still drive there 1/2 hour if I have the time to bypass the other big stores. I highly recommend it with no reservation at all.

Looking/buying flooring. Needed some guidance, had many questions, and the two people we "cornered" had absolutely no interest in helping or even getting off their chairs. The gentleman kept pointing to where we needed to go instead of physically walking with us to look at samples. We have been Hartville residents for over 30 years and it seems they have lost alot of that hometown, personal service since they moved to new building. Such a shame. After being treated as if we were a bother, we left and have since went to Menards. They WANTED to help us and were happy doing so.

Purchased 2014 Gator CX. LIghts and hour meter not working when delivered and installation of sun shade was very poorly done. Hartville says lights and hour meter may have been done at the factory. I said it was done when dash was removed for sun shade installation and the wiring was never reconnected and tested. Hartville Hardware apparently does no testing of the units and as long as it can be put on the truck for delivery it seems to be good to go. Not what I expected from the great and wonderful Hartville Hardware
