Great service - friendly associates. I havent spoken to the manager yet, but intend to (he is on vacation now). I drove to this store from Lima just to buy some rainbow fish. They are quite handsome indeed - and there were many from which to choose. I had never been to this store before, so they didnt know me yet held fish for me until I could get there. Once I got there, they figured out who I was and took me right to the tank that had the rainbow fish. I assure you, the store is not dirty - and all fish are well cared for (I didnt look much at the other animals - didnt have time). Dont believe everything you read here. I have never received bad service at any Jacks store. I buy with confidence, knowing that if I ever have a problem with a fish purchased "on the road" that I can take him/her back to my local store. Of course they also know the great care I take in transporting fish. So far, I havent lost a fish yet that has been transported from another store. Sure, some fish die or get sick that I have purchased from my local Jacks store -- but there can be many different reasons. I take in a sample of my water (and often my own tests kits) and have never had a problem getting fish credit. Jacks does stand behind their 14 day freshwater fish guarantee. No, I do not work for Jacks - they work for ME - a satisfied and loyal customer. They do treat me like family (I have no relation working for Jacks).

Ive never had a problem with this store. The staff members go out of their way to grab the best fish for me when Im in to buy. While, I admit, they could expand their variety, they dont have far to go to please me. I went in wanting killifish, which they dont carry. Any questions I ask are usually answered thoroughly, and one of the staff members was kind enough to give me a website she uses so that I could do my research before buying. (I had already asked her at least 15 different questions...) Last time I went in, I did buy some of the platies they had on sale, (they /always/ have lovely sales) and they werent the healthiest, but every other fish Ive gotten from them has been. They have a wide range of supplies, and the other pets seem pretty healthy, too. Ive gotten hamsters, mice, and rats from them before. All were perfectly fine. Everyone thinks its just another grungy pet store because of the outside, but inside youll know it differently if youre an experienced pet owner.

I recently tried to purchase about 65$ in product from your dayton ohio, smithville rd location and a manager named Zoey was on the phone the entire time. When I went to cash out it was obvious she wasnt talking to a customer on the phone because she was talking about flowers and flowerbeds while I was standing at the counter looking at her. I said "I dont want to interrupt your phone call it must be important" and zoey only says specifically "Im talking to a customer just like you" which was most likely a lie because pet stores dont sell flowers........ When I asked to talk to her boss or even give me her bosses name she refused. I go to this store once a week because I have multiple animals and it is very close to my home but now I will never go back there because of the horrible customer service by this single individual. Petsmart just gained a new customer thanks zoey!

I have been going to Jacks for quite awhile, after Complete Pet Mart changed ownership and stopped carrying Acana dog foods. The people are friendly and quite helpful, the store is clean and I have had one issue since going there, met the manager, nice guy. For some reason it was kicking back my checks....I called the regional office and they figured out the problem and sent me a $50.00 coupon. Since then no further issues with my checks, the manager was very helpful and said if it occurs again just come to him and it will be fixed.....so far so good, no problems!

I have gone here for many years. I like the way they changed since becoming Pet Value. The staff is nice and helpful. They always seem to have what Im looking for my dog. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars is that the place smells bad. I dont know what it is, but it just knocks you down when you first walk in. Then the other thing is seeing rodent feces on the floor, shelves and food. So I dont buy any treats that arent in a bag and any toys I buy ,I make sure I clean them well when I get home.

The store is dirty, the staff are trashy, and the animals are so sad and haunted looking. The smell almost knocked me off my feet when I entered. Not to mention Ive heard horror stories about the way they treat sick animals in their back room.

Everytime I go in this place it STINKS. I know its a pet store but any other pet store doesnt smell like straight animals. We have 4 cats and 2 dogs. I avoid this pet store if I can, even my daughter asked to stay in the car because it stunk!

The staff was very friendly and helped me find the items I needed. My dog is animal to animal aggressive so they were able to work something out so that I could still come in and get him bathed without any problems.

Did not have 1 of the 2 things i went there specifically to get. Item they did have was ridiculously overpriced amd will be returned today -staff were nice. Pet supplies store is actually alot cheaper!

Half of the time most of there fish are sick. When you finally find a time they arent you basically get talked out of a sale by the workers because they talk to you like youve never owned fish before.

Its a nice store but their selection has greatly decrease since its conversion from Jacks. Pet Valu is too commercial now, I think they lost that more personal feel that Jacks had. I miss Jacks.

Out of stock on three of the four things I needed. Wanted to spend around $150 and earn three $5 coupons to use in January, only spent $40. Now on my way to petsmart. What a waisted trip.

My favorite pet store. They carry high end dog food. Also, there is a reward program, buy so many bags of dog food get one free. Its a nice bonus
