I just recently started the wonderful leisure activity of smoking a tobacco pipe. Smoking a tobacco pipe was something that I always wanted to try and thought the tobacco smoke smelled great. When I started to do my internet research on the types of tobacco and pipes, I found that I became overwhelmed. There are literally hundreds of blends, brands and cuts of tobacco. I decided that I would go to Smokers Friendly nearby and purchase a $20 pipe, and try some different blends and brands of tobacco. When I came home, I read how to pack and light a pipe (very confusing as each author accounts a different way). I found out that I was not very good at it and became a little frustrated. Yesterday, my wife and I decided to make a trip to Columbus to Pipes and Pleasures to explore some pipe accessories, tobacco, and pipes (Pipes and Pleasures is world renowned for its pipes). Upon our arrival, we were intimidated by all the tobacco and items in the store. We were greeted by Tony Tarantelli, one of the tobacconists. I explained to Tony about my new hobby and the issues I was having with properly packing the pipe and keeping it lit. Tony took nearly 30 minutes of his time even though the store was busy and started from the beginning with giving me a crash course on packing, lighting, and smoking a pipe. Afterwards, Tony explained to me the cuts, blends, and types of pipe tobacco. I learned more about the art of tobacco pipe smoking in that 30 minutes than I ever had reading and researching on the internet. Thank you Tony! I will most certainly return to visit Tony and the store again! Pipes and Pleasures is an awesome shop with tons of items relating to pipes and cigars. They carry hundreds of brands of tobacco, both cigar and pipes. They carry name brand high-quality pipes, but they do not come close to their beautiful handmade pipes that they carve. They have a large humidor for top dollar cigars, a nice lounge to sample the tobacco, and wonderful staff with tons of knowledge. It is a heaven for tobacco enthusiasts and a place that I will definitely re-visit time and time again!

Pipes & Pleasures is the place to go if you want an excellent selection and price range of cigars, tobacco pipes, tobacco and smoking accessories. I purchased my first pipe from P&P. I was completely unaware of the pipe market, pipe makers and pipe shapes. I was treated with an overwhelming degree of courtesy and respect. Never was I pressured to make a purchase. I wasnt subjected to non-verbal cues that I was taking too much time or asking too many questions, and I wasnt abandoned to stand uncomfortably in utter confusion. I ended up purchasing a beautiful Stefano Santambrogio. Subsequent visits have resulted in me purchasing Savinelli and S&R brands. Im fortunate to have been in the "right place at the right time" and purchased a Limited Edition S&R pipe from their "I AM AN AMERICAN" series - #13/200. I particularly enjoy the casual and friendly atmosphere at P&P. The smoking lounge has plenty of tables and seating and is very conducive to carrying on conversations with anyone in the lounge. Introductions are made quickly and everyone welcomes the newest smoking comrade. Enjoy a cup of house brewed coffee; watch the big screen TV; engage in philosophical conversations (not many of those, but one can at least pretend); enjoy telling and listening to good jokes and stories; harass other smokers; read a book, magazine or paper; work or play on your computer - whatever you like to do while smoking a cigar or pipe. The place reminds me a bit of the television series "Cheers."

I came in looking for a few cigars for a best man gift box. I dont smoke cigars a lot, but Ive been in a few shops in my time. I usually stick to the macanudo in the white tubes. Ive seen them for $5-$7 each, and thats the price Ive always paid for them. Pipes and pleasures had them for $13. Thats kind of high in price. I went with the macanudo Hyde park in the plastic wrap. He was charging almost $10 each for those when they are no more than an $8 cigar. I asked for a cutter, wasnt sure if I had an extra one at home for the box I was putting together. He immediately went to his $75-$100 cutters. I asked where is cheaper ones were and he showed me something that literally looked like a toy for $4.95. He wasnt very friendly either. Its clear Im not an advance cigar smoker, but it doesnt mean he needs to treat me like one. Ill stick to have a cigar in Gahanna.

I first discovered this store when I was studying in seminary (yes, studying philosophy goes a lot easier when smoking a pipe) and loved it! They are wonderfully accomidating. They have pipes and cigars for all budgets. Their house blends are wonderful and the selection of cigars and tinned and pouched pipe tobaccos are great. They also have a large selection of lighters and cigar and pipe tools. In the back of the store they have a lounge where you can smoke, enjoy a soda, and play games. It really is a great place not only to shop but to hang out! I would highly recommend paying the place a visit!

Cigar selection was a bit slim due to stock rotation but what was there was all excellent and well cared for. Pipe selection is incredible, with local artists work and estate pipes available along with a goodly selection of pipe tobacco. The lounge is worth the trip - friendly folks, comfy seating, a great place to spend an afternoon.

Went in to buy a new pipe and tobacco. Im a novice pipe smoker and they made me feel very comfortable and gave me a few pointers. They have a lot of pipes, pipe tobaccos, cigars and accessories. I will definitely be going back. Good people and good products all around.

I frequent this shop multiple times per week. They have a massive selection of cigars and a lounge to smoke them in. If your into pipes they have hundreds. Recommended place for cigars and pipes. Free Coffee, TV, and card tables in the lounge.

These folks are extremely knowledgeable about both pipes and cigars. They have a large walk-in humidor that contains a large selection of cigars from all price ranges. If you have a question just ask the staff. They will take great care of you.
