A Private User

The proprietors spent a long time with me discussing what bike would be optimal for me. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, never condescending. They let me test ride three different bikes before I picked the one I liked best, and I am very happy with it. After the first day of riding, I brought it back for a few minor adjustments to the brakes/shifting, which they did in just a minute, no extra charge. I have also watched them help a number of other customers. They are straightforward about the pros and cons of everything bicycle-related, and when they dont know the answer to a question, they research it to find the answer. Thats real service. They stock high-quality products, too, and if you have a special need they will order it for you, no problem. Very pleased and proud to have Joy Machines in my neighborhood.

Not a good experience. I was charged $160 for some new cables(not including housing) and an internal routing job that was done poorly(excess cable, cables not secure inside top tube etc). Adding to the fact that a poor internal routing job with some cheap cables cost $160, they tried to upsell me on new bar tape......I had just put on new tape, from which I bought at their store. Yet it goes on-the gearing was tuned so poorly that when in the 50:19 it was rubbing on the front derailleur chainguard. It literally looked like someone did this job blindfolded and drunk.

if you need your tires done or new tires ..rims or brakes done ....check out this place by west side market they are cheap with prices and there work is 100% i had a bad exprience with fedricks so now my new place is by the market ... the best bike shop on the west side ! they got my bike fixed cause fedricks did not do a good job ..now i got some bad ass brakes and new innertube thanks for getting my bike fixed .... as a walk the time was fast getting my bike done !

I am cycling my way across the country and stopped into Joy Machines for some minor maintenance. I chatted with Josh for a while and he was incredibly helpful! He did exactly what I needed done on the bike and went way above and beyond to make sure I was leaving with a better bike than the one I walked in with. I would definitely recommend this bike shop to others. It is very obvious that the people at this shop are passionate about what they do.

I purchased a Factory Bike from the Box and Alex put in together for a good price (compared with other bike shops) . His response to emails, etc was excellent. He also installed my Bike PC and put on the clip less pedals a bell, and spent a good amount of time on the disc brakes. I was very pleased with the Ma and Pa approach to business. He also shared local information with trails and riding tips. Great Job !!!

I had a flat tire yesterday and cruised up to the shop to score a tube. I unknowingly got there 30 minutes after they closed. The owner was still in the shop, saw me at the door and opened up for me. He changed my tube out for me and was super nice about it. I would highly recommend visiting this bike shop.

I brought my 22 year-old Cannondale to Joy Machines for overhaul in late April. Alex and his team did a great job on really bringing this bike back to like-new condition. Plus, the cost was reasonable and they did the work in just around a week. Simply a great experience all the way round!
