Okay, so check it, Aloha, my name is Callahan Welsh....and I am a nobody. However, I would like to take the time to write a review as I so often do. As a traveler and water-pipe enthusiast, I humbly appreciate the art of glass blowing. Now, set aside the stigmatization....and look at the architectural craftsmanship that goes into glass blowing. I mean, you have to be smart to utilize all the tool it takes to create glass pieces. And so I strolled into this place Capitol Smoke one day, and holly$hit!!.....sure enough, they had an amazing little glass blowing studio right there in this establishment. Just simply amazing! Not only did they have friendly & professional staff that are knowledgeable in this respectful field, but the establishment itself, is like a home. I mean, I have never seen another Tobacco shop that is as inviting as Capital Smoke. They not only have a wide variety of amazing glass pieces, but they got 3-Way Chess with a sit down lounge and a little garden to make the atmosphere seem refreshing. This shop also hosts a "First Friday Fun Night"...which brings the good people of Raleigh together which, is what our society NEEDS! My conclusion, I would highly recommend going to stop by Capital Smoke to just simply look around at their fine art and other products they sell. The staff never pressures, and they will do their best to help you to the best of their abilities. Gratitude for the glass blowing show.....that is simply amazing to watch some one bring into light the vision they see in their head....and the professional information I needed when looking at pieces. They have wonderfully made In-house glassware! Plenty of your vape and tobacconist accessory needs available! A nice selection of other headshop products and accessories! I really enjoy going here! I can only give it 3 stars, though, because Im a cigar smoker and they are really lacking in their cigar selection. Not lacking in quality of selection but in quantity of brands. They have a large walk-in humidor for cigars and well humidified. Yet it doesnt feel as though they are using more than 30% of the usable space. Being a cigar smoker this part of the shops services is more important to me than the other well known products and selections they provide. And they are very knowledgeable in almost every product that they carry. Cigars not so much. I still recommend them to any cigar smoker I meet while downtown Raleigh since they certainly have the convenience factor of being in walking distance of just about everywhere else while downtown.

10/10, from friend to friend, I would recommend. hands down the best service Ive ever had when purchasing glass. reasonable pricing across the board and the staff is always ready to answer any questions I might have or point me in the right direction. AWESOME FIRST FRIDAY location w/ live music, live glassblowing, and free keg beer (after providing proper identification of course). there is a large humidor with a wide selection of cigars and Capitol Smoke is also one of the few places to purchase cigarettes near the warehouse district. Capitol Smoke is so choice... if you have the means, I highly recommend stopping by.

The selection seemed great, but the attitude from the clerk was sub-par. He seemed annoyed and did not express the knowledge of the product that I expected. It turned out they were out of what I needed, so when I asked where I could find a shop that did, he refused to tell me... Kind of understandable, but also smug. I will never go back to this establishment because of the service, not the merchandise. In contrast, the shop that had what I sought provided the opposite experience. Helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. Go to Hillsborough street if you want friendly service.....

I have been here a few times and I agree with the other reviews that the employees do not really seem too concerned about providing good customer service. The selection of glass is pretty decent and the store is nice but this does not make up for a lack of customer service. Also looking at the other negative reviews (minus the cigar incident one) it is clear that the owner would rather reply with sarcastic and childish comments than apologize for crummy service. I am not an expert here but that is a terrible way to retain customers and bring in new ones.

Went in and bought a vape pen, within a week the battery stopped heating the coil. When I took the battery back, I was told that it indeed was not working (thanks guys) and that the shop did not do refunds or exchanges. I was just looking for replacement of a faulty product, and was pretty much told it was my problem. Also agree with the earlier review that the staff dngaf. Was recommended to go there by friends, cannot see myself going back, there are better options in town with better customer service.

High quality glass at affordable prices. Excellent selection of cigars and various tobacco products that are always well stocked and fresh. Fair, dependable, and extremely friendly staff that have always gone out of their way to help me as a customer to have a truly unique and superior buying experience then most other shops. What more could you ask for? Highly recommended for all collectors and pipe smoking afficianados, Capital Smoke is the premier glass shop of the Raleigh area, second to none.

Alex helped me and when I came in and was as informative as he could be, but the whole staff is incredibly friendly and helpful staff, the atmosphere of the shop is welcoming and the glassware speaks for itself but just incase you havent been inside, its high quality and theyll always run you through everything you need to know. Im not a smoker myself but all of my friends love Capitol Smokes cigars would recommend this shop to anyone and everyone. Will definitely be back.

Very unhelpful, actually made us leave the store. I dont know a lot about the store, or about cigars in general, so I was hoping for some friendly education on a Sunday afternoon. This is a absolutely not the place to go if youre an amateur looking to enjoy a cigar or to learn more about them. I was driven from the cigar room and actually followed into the street and told not to come back. Dont worry, I wont be back. If youre looking for a cigar, I recommend Glenwood Ave.

Walked in and the dude didnt say one word to me the whole time. It was my first time here so assistance wouldve been cool but whatever I guess. The glass pieces are way over priced, and when I bought a bowl the guy said " these dont last very long", and when I replied with "Im not spending $80 on something half the size and that holds half the amount", he literally replied with, " I guess man ". Will never go back.

They have an excellent variety of the complete tobacco spectrum. I love this place! So much variety! They have everything you could ever need to smoke. Also, prices are very reasonable and you can get anything from low end stuff for super cheap or really fancy name brand stuff. Will definable be a regular here!
