After doing extensive research on keeping pythons as pets, we purchased an albino python from this store on January 3rd. We spent at least 45 minutes in store speaking with the employee on exactly what items we needed to purchase as well as the care and keeping of the snake. This was not a cheap snake (priced at $300) and we spent around $500 in store for all the essential items we needed. The next day we noticed the snake was not behaving properly and would not eat (not unusual for a python,m but still worrisome) so I contacted Petsmart and spoke with a manager named Ben. Ben was very kind and helpful. We decided to bring the snake back to the store and do a return so the snake could be looked at by Banfield. Ben told us that we would be able to repurchase the snake if the vet concluded it was ok. I was told I would be contacted with way. The next day I was contacted by an employee named Jean who was very rude. She told me this was like "her personal snake" and was very accusatory that we MUST have done something which cause the snake to fall ill. She even gave incorrect information on the humidity level needed for the python (which should be 55%-60% and said it should have been at 80%) She told us the python was not doing well. I called back today to check on the python since no one called me to give me anymore updates. Once again she was rude and had a condescending tone in her voice. She said the snake had died from internal bleeding. When I asked what could cause that she said she didnt want to speculate, but that it could have been from being dropped. We had the snake less than 24 hours and were told to handle the snake as little as possible. The snake was never dropped. There is no way I would spend $500 and not care for this animal. Jean made a horrible and emotional experience for us even worse by her bad attitude. She needs a lesson on compassion.

Personally I love this petsmart! My husky and I go all the time. I see many reviews about bad customer service but honestly every time I go here they are amazing. We go very often bc my husky is spoiled and he loves it. They do tend to have the same stuff time and time again though. Their Banfield staff is amazing though. My dog was extremely sick when we adopted him. We got their wellness plan and man did that help. We were in their office 2-3 times a week bc he couldnt stop throwing up/diarrhea. They knew him by then and he was almost comfortable going there. (Hes a very anxious dog) VERY thankful for them. They helped me get him on a path to recovery without trying to steal my money. Very honest. Now as far as the grooming salon- STAY AWAY. We had just gotten our husky and we went in one day and he needed his nails trimmed. No problem, they did it on the spot. It came out to some insane price and they accidentally choked my dog. We warned them he was a shelter dog and doesnt like being touched in his rear legs. Well she went to clip it, he flinched and slipped off the table. He was hanging on by the rope AROUND HIS NECK. this lady didnt have the strength to pick him up!! HES ONLY 35 pounds!!! There were 2 other employees who clearly disliked this woman and wouldnt help her. We yelled at someone to help her bc our baby was in a Noose. I was disgusted. Not to mention SHE DID A HORRIBLE JOB WITH HIS NAILS. Ive seen several accidents with dogs from them while waiting at their hospital. NEVER AGAIN. Toe nails being ripped off(wth!!), cuts from the clippers, etc. It seems they hire all these people who are new to grooming and are willing to do it for cheap. Please take your babys elsewhere.

I was in petsmart in matthews last weekend and saw this man wheel his old golden retriever on a cart to the back to banfield. Im not sure what was wrong but he needed his older dog seen. Banfield said they couldnt see him and the man got a little upset and said his dog wasnt doing well and he pays big bucks for the wellness plan and why couldnt his dog be seen. When I went back to a room with my friend and her dog, this was her first visit with her dog, we heard the employees talk loudly about this man and how rude he was. I was unhappy to hear the employees talking about this man this way. This man was obviously upset because his dog was sick and he was paying all this money for the wellness plan and couldnt even get worked in for his sick dog. I would have been upset too. I thought this was very unprofessional of the employees. Another one of my friends called me today telling me her little dog was sick and she called matthews banfield to get worked in. They refused to see her little dog too. My friend with the sick dog also pays monthly for the wellness plan. Why pay for the wellness plan monthly if you cant even be worked in with a sick animal. I know this is long but just wanted to let people know to be aware that you most likely wont be seen if you dont have an appointment!!! Forget it if you have an emergency! I have four animals and defiantly wont be going to banfield!!! I go to an awesome vet right now anyway. No need to change for a wellness plan.

I recently took my dog for a haircut as I use to do every time she needs to. Well, I explained to them how tangled my dogs hair was and what I needed them to do. We kind of got into an agreement about my dogs haircut. Later they called me to tell me how hard was to do the job and that it was going to be more expensive since it was going to take them more time to go thorough. I didnt know what to say but to go ahead and do what they needed to do. Well, when I picked my dog up they explained me everything about their experience with my dog and even told me that next time if my dog was in that conditions I was going to have to take her to a vet hospital instead. I could not believe it. But I stood relaxed as possible since you know you dont have to keep going to no place where you dont like their attitude. But its funny since I been bringing my dog for years to the same grooming salon with the only difference that they moved from across the other street. Course I noticed they have all people new. By the way the other people used to be so kind and respectfull and never complained about anything with customers. its obviuous these people have nothing to do with professionalism. I will not come again plus tell everybody I know about my experience.

I recently found a small kitten about a month old out in heat in a critical state. I went to Petsmart to buy kitten milk replacer for the kitten. I saw that they had 11oz GNC brand for 5.99 and they were out of it. They had another brand ,KMR, for 8.99. Being that they were out of the sale price, I asked MORRIS the manager to match the price. I felt like I had a simple request that at most places would be no problem whatsoever. He rudely explained that he couldnt match the price since it was a different brand. GNC had smaller cans so I asked him if I could get two smaller ones at a price similar to the price of the large one they were out of. He explained he wasnt in the business of price haggling. He was one of the most insensitive, rude, and disrespectful people I have encountered in retail. Petsmart claims to care about animals but hires people who dont seem to care about anything but a paycheck just like every other large retail chain. I am highly disappointed and I will tell all my other pet parents about this experience. My wife works in the community to help homeless pets and she will definitely tell others of this experience. ,
