I went here a few weeks ago in hopes of getting a small tattoo on my hand, I called around 7:40 on a Monday night and asked what their price range would be if they could give me one based off of what I told them I wanted and how long they were open till. They told me the shop minimum was $45 and that they were open till 10 that night. I had no problem with what they were asking price wise and I planned to get tattoo a little later after I got off the phone with one of the tattoo artists. I arrived their with my boyfriend right around 9:15 and waited for over 5 minutes before anyone came up to the desk to see what we needed. despite the fact there was someone sitting on a computer a few feet away and had seen us. The artist I had talked to told me that it was too late to get tattooed because they were closing soon, despite them saying they were open till 10 and it was only 9:15. The artist told me had he of known that we would be arriving there at 9:15 he would have told me I wouldnt be able to get tattooed. I thought that 45 minute early close was ridiculous but what bothered me the most is that it seemed like the artist was giving my boyfriend and I an attitude. The artist suggested that I come back tomorrow but I explained to him I lived an hour and 15 minutes away in another city and wouldnt be able to come back tomorrow. Over all I didnt enjoy the experience of going there and dont plan on going back, ever. Ive been to plenty of tattoo shops, and I know plenty of artists who arent condescending and dont give their customers the "Im holier than thou" attitude.

I absolutely cannot recommend this place enough. Everyone that I met there was so nice, the shop is so clean and everything about my visit was impressive. I have two smaller tattoos that I had gotten at other locations but after hearing some good reviews and checking the place out online I decided to come here for my first bigger piece. I met with Matt Heft to talk about what I wanted and I was very impressed that he was genuinely interested in my tattoo and doing an excellent job for me. His whole approach was a major deciding factor for me because in the past Ive had experiences at other shops where the artist didnt make eye contact and barely seemed to be interested in what I was asking for. You can tell with both Matt and all of the other artists that you meet at Golden Spiral that they are dedicated to doing quality work. Matt had me email him some pictures and when I returned for my appointment he had a fantastic design ready for me. He got about half of my tattoo done in the first visit and it already looks far more incredible than I had ever anticipated; I cant wait to return in a few weeks to get it finished. I plan on returning for all future tattoos that I want and if you are wanting anything done I absolutely recommend Golden Spiral, you wont regret it.

Let me just say, this studio is AMAZING!!! My husband and I recently went to Golden Spiral while visiting the Greensboro area and we were surprised as soon as we walked in the door. The studio looks very modern and streamlined, forgoing the typical disheveled tattoo decor which consist of multiple "poster" racks of tattoo templates on the wall, and instead opting for paintings done exclusively by their artists. The front desk attendant was very prompt and attentive as soon as we entered, making it a point to find two artists we could talk to. Sam did my tattoo and he was amazing! Rodney did my husbands and it is also amazing! Both of these artists are very professional, very friendly, and very well equipped to handle any idea someone may have for a tattoo. These guys are not just your basic run of the mill tattoo artists, but true artists. They definitely deliver! We have now decided if I or my husband want another tattoo, we will definitely travel the 2+ hours to Golden Spiral for Sam or Rodney. Trust me, you will not be disappointed at this studio!

When walking around town & you see someone with a great tattoo & stop to talk to them about it...they all say go to Golden Spiral. So we did. I must say Ive walked into other shops hoping to get tattooed & didnt because it was gross or the people lacked any sort of professionalism. When I walked into Golden Spiral two weeks ago you can immediately tell a difference. This place is fantastic & CLEAN place! I personally got my first, probably not my last, tattoo from Sam King last week here. He designed a small beautiful ankle tattoo for me. Being my first tattoo I had lots of questions & may have been a bit dramatic during the process, & he was excellent at answering my questions & not laughing at me! Today my boyfriend got his first tattoo by Matt Heft. Matt designed a gorgeous chest piece that far exceeded either of our expectations. He was great during the whole process, & took his time explaining the after care of the tattoo, which was greatly appreciated. Both artists have amazing talents & we look forward to visiting again soon!

Had my first appointment with Zach Crisp over the weekend. I still am in awe when I look at my arm and and so happy I get to keep this gorgeous piece of art for the rest of my life. Zach is extraordinarily talented and the people in Greensboro are lucky to have him here... this dude is an up-and-comer in the industry and is definitely someone to watch. Its worth mentioning that a tattoo is an investment in the art, artist and a lifetime commitment. You get what you pay for, and going in expecting a discount tattoo or "$200 worth" isnt the right way to approach this decision. I had to cancel my initial appointment due to a family emergency and had no problem keeping my deposit and rescheduling my appointment. The entire studio is clean and I love the tvs in every artists booth. Oh yeah, its a booth not a cubicle. ha. All the artists in the shop were nice and welcoming and did beautiful work. Will definitely go back!

Ive been to Golden spiral for 3 tattoos now and love the people there. Ive been working with Matt Heft, but everyone there is very friendly and tend to joke with each other a lot. They have a great environment there. Yeah, they arent a cheap tattoo place, but do you want a cheap looking tattoo? Also, they clearly state their refund policy, so if you dont show up to your appointment you lose the money. Im completely fine with this, because id be pissed if they werent there for my appointment, so why shouldnt they be? Dont waste each others time. Anyway, They have some great artists and seem to be the best place in Greensboro. Ill be moving about 1.5 hours away and will still be making the drive to come to them. Especially since my big piece still needs work and Matt pays such close to detail that it looks amazing.

My best friend and I wanted to get matching tattoos. It was my second tattoo and my friends first. Matt was very knowledgeable and helpful in finalizing our ideas. Although our ideas were not earth-shatteringly different or creative, it meant a lot to us and he gave it that attention. He was exceptionally knowledgeable about tattoos as well as the importance of aftercare (very important to 2 nurses!). The Shop was great as well, very clean and everyone was very friendly. My only recommendation would be to have Matt update the pictures of his work online. We are not from town so we had done some looking online to see what was available in town and Matts pictures do not to justice to his work! He is excellent. Thanks Matt! If we head back to Greensboro, I know I will probably be heading in for another piece!
