I had used them for years and recommend then to lots of people. The last time I used them I had taken my computer in for an evaluation. I explained I was under time constraints and left it for for about four days before I called. I knew they were busy and I figured it was better if I didnt slow them down with phone calls. PART ONE: They had misplaced my computer. They hadnt even run any diagnostics. So if course it needed to run the diagnostics to be run then it needed a new hard drive. All of which required time and my time was getting really tight. I talked to one of the people there. He was apologetic and offered to have it ready early in the morning so I could pick it up on the way to the airport. I was unhappy and told him not to go to extreme measures and I would just have to get it three weeks later when I returned. I did remind him that this was their doing since they misplaced it in the first place. PART TWO: I returned from a trip three weeks later and went to pick it up and of course Nothing had been done. The computer guy thought I said I would pick it up when I got back. He assumed that meant "dont do anything work to the computer." Again, I was not happy. I said no, I told you not to go to any extreme measures to have it ready before I left and I would pick it up when I got back. I did not tell him not to work on it. PART THREE: OK, days later I get it back after upgrading with a new faster hard drive. I get it home and look at for the data that was supposed to be transferred and there was no data. I called them and they did a remote look see and the data had not been successfully transferred. l was told they couldnt check to see if the data had been successfully downloaded, the customer had to check that. PART FOUR: The data transfer was finally made. Much, much longer than the five or six day turn around I was told to expect. Update. Now that I have spent more time working with my computer, I have to say it is working faster. It still takes some time to boot up. Owner called me back and was nice. It still takes a long time to boot up and all the original information was in an XP format. I had one of my kids help me move it over to a Windows 7 format. Still cant get the sound to work and the hard drive is almost full. Still not happy.

My Ipad 2 had a cracked screen and the wifi eventually quit working. I took it to Absolute Computers (based on other customer reviews) and they said they could fix it within 2-3 business days. There was a delay in getting the replacement screen - not a big deal. It was "fixed" 7 or 8 days later. When I went to pick it up, it was dead so I could not test it before I picked it up. When I got home that night and charged it enough to try it out I realized that the touch screen, that had worked perfectly fine when I dropped it off now did not work. Only certain sections of the screen would respond. I called them to inform them that in fact it was not repaired and they asked me to bring it in again. That the screen would have to be replaced again. When I dropped it off the second time it had a new screen (that didnt work) and the wifi was working. When they called me a few hours later they stated that there was a problem and that it was now an issue with the Ipad board, not the screen and unfortunately they were not authorized to work on that part of the Ipad. They also stated they would re-install the original cracked screen, give me a refund but they were not liable for any additional damaged done to my Ipad. After picking it up back up, I realized that the wifi fix had also quit workingl. So they completely undid the "fix" before returning it to me This is the first time I have ever written a review but I was extremely unhappy with service, or lack of, that I received. Additional follow up: When I took my iPad to another company to repair they informed me that it was a very poor repair job. There were screws missing and instead of replacing my wi-fi cable (which they charged me for initially), they soldered it. He also didnt feel that it was repairable due to the additional damage done during the initial repair.

Even with an up-to-date version of McAfee on my PC, I managed to get some annoying malware. Ive resolved similar issues in the past but was going out of town and didnt have the time to mess with it. So, based on previous reviews and their hourly rate, I decided to give these guys a try. They said they would contact me within 3 business days, but it took 4 (not a major issue). They told me the repair would be $120. I approved the work and it was ready within a few hours. However, when I got my PC back, there were a few issues. Some of the issues were minor (they installed some free anti-virus software and didnt uninstall it, Internet Explorer didnt immediately work properly because some security settings needed to be changed). It left me with the general impression that they hadnt been very thorough about checking their work. Most notably, Adobe Reader no longer worked due to a problem with Readers security settings and Core DLL. I could have gone back to Absolute, but was concerned I might get stuck in the 3~4 day waiting cycle, and I assumed it was just some simple setting somewhere. I spent about an hour researching the issue, re-installing and upgrading Reader, etc., all to no avail. Finally, a Google search indicated it could be a virus. I downloaded a Kaspersky virus removal app, which found a virus and cleaned it up. After a reboot, Adobe Reader works fine. So it seems pretty clear that I paid $120 for virus removal, and they didnt remove all viruses.

I went to Absolute Computers to get my Macbook pro computer screen replaced. I am a student and I could not wait 4 days to get the screen fixed so I was told that I could pay a $50 fee to have the computer screen fixed same day. I took the computer in and was told that it would be ready by 6 that night. Shortly before 6, I received a call that from the store about my computer. The guy on the phone told me that they had not fixed my screen because they had run diagnostics on my computer and determined that my hard drive was failing. I could not understand why they did not fix the crack in my screen since that had nothing to do with my hard drive. They immediately started talking to me about the pricing to replace my hard drive. My computer is only a year old so I found it to be suspicious that my hard drive was supposedly failing. My boyfriend picked up my computer the next morning and the guy at the desk started telling him how it was my fault that the computer was not fixed the day before. I immediately scheduled an appointment at Apples genius bar to determine whether or not my hard drive was actually failing. Apple ran multiple tests on my computer and determined that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my computer or my hard drive. Needless to say, Absolute Computers was trying to rip me off. I would not recommend anyone to do business with these people. Dishonesty is the worst trait for any business to have.
