Lowes Foods has a good selection of food and a pretty neat store. They have a wide variety of beer and wine and the newly opened beer den where you can try and buy different beers that are on tap. However, I am rating the store on customer service. There are multiple locations in Boone to buy groceries and the prices arent extremely competitive. My most recent transaction was most likely one of the worst that I ever experience when grocery shopping. This was early morning so YMMV at different times of the day but there was only one checkout lane so only one cashier. I was picking up a random assortment of food items for breakfast and when I arrived at the checkout lane, I noticed I was missing one of my two debit cards. I immediately told the cashier this and said I would take back one or two of the items myself as I already felt bad they would have to be removed from my order anyways. As soon as I mentioned I wouldnt be able to pay the full amount (mostly because I hadnt used the other bank account in awhile) the cashier became cold and silent. The manager at the time was called up to the register to take the items back. When the manager arrived, my card was declined again so I said to take out one of my more expensive items a I knew I couldnt remember my exact balance in the account. The manager looked pretty agitated at me and the cashier, being completely short and ill-tempered to the cashier who was an old lady, demanding "Which bag IS it in?" When I had only purchased two bags worth of items. I was neither thanked but I thanked them (still no response back). I was also not told to have a nice day until I said it first as I was already past the register leaving. The manager was the only one who had said it back. To me, this is extremely poor customer service which I value the most when deciding on the store to purchase my goods. Walmart is too crowded, Harris Teeter is nice but a little further away, and Food Lion is typical Food Lion. However, because shopping experience is most important to me I am just going to opt to shop at Harris Teeter in the future. I can purchase boxed goods like cereal and oatmeal online via Amazon with free shipping and better prices if I need to budget. I hope Lowes Foods will begin to focus more on the customer experience at the register as it is obviously badly needed.

A+++++. Fantastic store. Very friendly staff and very clean store. This store offers so much. Its absolutely fabulous. Beautiful setup inside and awesome presentation. My only advise as a tourist in town is 3 things: One, to perhaps make the exterior, front of the store pop so to speak or dazzle. Unless I had gone into the store I would never have imagined just what was behind the front doors. Amazing! I personally feel that this store wins hands down over all others in town. Two, have the coffee ready by 7:30 in the morning. Its great coffee but it isnt always ready for breakfast so I have to go elsewhere. Three, lose the store discount card, discontinue it. Too many stores and too many cards filling ones wallet. Just do what we all know works at the major stores and just give everyone your best price without a discount card. More free wallet space means more money to spend in the store.

We ordered a 1/4 sheetcake recently and requested it to be decorated like a campsite. It was for the birthday of a 3 year-old camper with Autism in the camp experience called KAMPN (Kids with Autism Making Progress in Nature), in Deep Gap, NC. I had to write this review because the cake was decorated in a truly outstanding way. We asked for a campsite theme with a stream, a campfire, and maybe even a tent and what we got was a highly decorated, beautiful campsite theme complete with a shimmering stream, a 3D campfire, trees, and even a tent that Hannah had crafted from what looked like a piece of cardboard. It was clever and creative and thoughtful and the camper and his family where very grateful. They saved part of the cake with the tent and campfire, had the camp director wrap it for them, and they took it home with them. Thank you Lowes Foods Bakery and Hannah!

Average grocery store. Actually its where a normally shop. My reason for 4 stars is they have been in a remodel process for a while now(2 years?). After a store redesign, it was changed back to close to what it was before. They do a good job getting construction out of the way a shopping but the constant change has me a frequent shopper searching for items that arent where they were last week. The prices, choices and produce quality keep me coming back even with the construction.

With a winning combination of great customer service, a diverse selection of products (including a growing emphasis on local and regional selections) and decent prices, Lowes Foods is easily one of Boones top grocery stores. Being able to enjoy a cold, craft beer from the stores Beer Den, while shopping, is also a plus -- and probably contributes to a curious variety of impulse buys.

For the customer there couldnt be much better for a general grocery store. Some specialty items are best left to special stores. The management and employees are devoted to the customer experience. The corporate interest is loyalty and they earn that with consistent lowering of prices and excellent rotating discounts. A store worth sticking with.

If your grocery shopping experience includes a large array of beer and wine, the latest Lowes Foods renovation will be your cup of tea. Even though wine is occasionally on my shopping list, I very much miss the health supplements and organic foods section that mysteriously disappeared during the renovation

A little on the pricey side for Boone especially the meat and seafood departments, but they Deer Run a 25% off promotion usually every 4 to 6 weeks. Great employer of Appalachian State University students however if you need help in the bakery after 6 p.m. or the deli after 8 forget it.

I worked for Lowes Foods years ago. It is still a great, family friendly, & wholesome company/store. With an expansive selection of groceries, including a walk in beer cave & fresh made sushi each Wednesday, it is perfect for all people.

I really enjoy shopping at Lowes Foods because of the freshest and quality of the produce and their meats. The prices are very reasonable and I like being able to buy cheaper gas connected with the amount I spend at Lowes.

Theres been a gap of time between this recent visit and the last time. Theyve completely redone the interior and it looks amazing. Bar inside with awesome looking deli food. Very clean store, service was great!

Freshest produce in Boone. It might be slightly more pricey than other grocery stores, but even as broke college students its still worth it because the produce actually lasts a few days before going bad.

Too many college students do hoard this place like ants upon a lollipop.. But, it is a clean store, with a lot of variety. It is a big store too. Most of the people that work there are somewhat nice.

My first visit to this store. Very clean. Reasonable prices. But I only saw ONE scooter for disabled persons and some lady was sitting on it in front of the store (but she was not even shopping).
