I usually love going publix as Im usually greeted with a smile and welcoming staff. However, lately my experience has been quite the opposite at this southgate publix. Today was the cherry on top of the bad service.. I went to have a sub made at the deli and the sub maker, named Shirley was just terrible. I asked how her day was, she grunted and rolled her eyes. Then as she silently made my sub, I asked her not to toast my sub and she said very rudely that she would have to charge me extra for not toasting the sub. I apologized trying not to make eye contact and she threw my sub in the oven. Then I asked her to put things on the sub... you know... lettuce, tomato, etc. No way... she said again very rudely, that will be extra. Ive never experienced such bad service. And I will go to other publix delis from now on as I do not enjoy being treated that way by people.

Store service has improved. The cashiers at this store used to be terribly rude. The service has improved tremendously in the past year. The prices are still expensive, but since I buy everything at Aldi excepting a couple produce items at this Publix, is it ok. Good product assortment. This was my previous review: I hate giving a bad review, but this Publix seems to have very rude cashiers. Last time my cashier was too busy arguing about his schedule to say hi, and the previous time the bagger and the cashier were talking politics.... I try to avoid this store like plague, despite the fact their produce section is always fresh and well stocked.

I shopped after having had minor surgery for skin cancer so I needed waterproof bandage material. There was a young lady stocking that section who was very helpful in helping me make my decision on the best product for my needs. I wish I had gotten her name. I used so much that I returned again today and she got me more of it today.

Publix employees are the most friendly and caring; theres no other supermarket even close in its consistency of customer service. Employees offer to help take your groceries to your car, even in the pouring rain, and they refuse to accept a gratuity (although Ive heard that if you keep insisting, they are allowed to give in).

I just love Publix! I know that they may not be the cheapest option in town but I always leave Publix in a happy, calm state. Unlike the feeling I get leaving Walmart: stressed out, homicidal, and depressed. So yeah, Ill pay a few bucks more to shop at a place that has excellent customer service and just a general good vibe!

Friendly staff is the key to success. The product is neat, the floors are tidy. The produce is plentiful and organic options are limited but sufficient. Close to home and nothing is hard to reach. A good mix.
