Horrible experience. Went with the family for ice cream and asked for a chocolate shake, which with tax came to over $8! I also tipped the kid because I know what its like to work in the service industry. So almost $10 for a 10oz milk shake and I look over to see the girl is making it with chocolate syrup and not the Nyes that is advertised. I asked the guy working to please make mine with chocolate ice cream and they told me "they dont do that". They were out of every flavor ice cream that my sister wanted so at first I just thought they were out of chocolate too. The girl making the shake turns around and snaps at me that they dont do that because the Nyes is more expensive so they make the shakes out of a cheaper brand and then put the syrup in it. And then charge me MORE for it. Such a rip off and HORRIBLE customer service. Save you money and just bring Breyers and milk from the main land in a cooler. It will be better quality according to their own employees.

Maritime Market on Bald Head Island has done a stellar job! This market has an amazing selection of fresh produce, a beautiful well rounded meat/fish counter, amazing cheese selection, breads & baked goods, a strong wine selection all while also providing can goods, frozen food options, medicine, snacks & drinks, toys & puzzles, beach clothing & hats, souvenirs & cards... oh and a cafe for quick take out food and drinks. We collect ready to grill stuffed fish, fresh veggies, salad, bread and wine to grill with friends. We collect wine, cheese, olives, fresh baked bread for sunset picnics. Maritime Market is a special part of each trip to Bald Head Island!

This grocery store is fantastic - it fits the island like a glove. They have what you need and a comfortable little cafe on site that serves breakfast and lunch. In the summer on the side porch they sell gourmet ice cream. They keep the temperature nice and cool in the summertime and the staff is very nice. The owner is first class - he and his wife live on the island. I am very thankful that there is a Maritime Market.

Too many mean teenagers! Especially a tall white skin girl with black hair and blue eyes also with an accent, she has no manners at all! Also I have seen her a couple of times treating and talking bad to her co-workers for no reason, she always have a long face like she hates her life and her smile is so fake that every time I see her in the cafe or the ice cream I dont buy anything if she is there

We work here for three months staff very friendly they have just about what you need price just a bit higher the main land but fair enough just two day ago I ask if they have some food I need they we dont right now is all gone but I can have you one for tomorrow and they did,great place great selection of products for you while you are in the island

Weve been visiting the Market for years and always enjoy the experience. Good selection of food and drink in a smaller, more intimate location with helpful staff. Centrally located on the island for convenience. The prices are expensive which is to be expected consideriing everything must be brought in by barge from the mainland.

Quaint market in the heart of the Maritime Forest. Owner, Claude Pope is super friendly and worked with me on a service project for my church. Great selection of quality foods. Cafe is a great place to get biscuits in the mornings.

Considering the store has a monopoly on the grocery market on the island it has a nice selection and the prices are not too high. While it is more expensive than normal, the mark up is understandable.
