Holy cow! You cannot beat the produce freshness and pricing anywhere in the area. Since moving to NYC, Ive struggled with the inflation of pricing, particularly in groceries since I love to cook from home. Valentinos has fresh seasonal produce at quality deals. A lot of their best priced produce is on display outside along the storefront. They have a small organic produce section in the back of the store as well. Though I cant find everything for my stock up trip, this is the perfect location for my weekly grocery trip. I also love the meat counter in the back of the shop where the guys are happy to answer your questions and do custom cuts of meat. Theyre independently owned, so youll close out your tab at that counter and then continue to the front checkout for the rest of your goods. Id recommend going during the day or morning if possible because it can get really crowded in the small aisles. Try to avoid going on weekends in general, its just too packed.

Produce prices are super low! I was blown away! Quality of produce is not bad, some items fresher than others, but totally comparable to that of a large supermarket chain, if not better. I see the delivery trucks quite frequently so I know they have a high turnover of produce. Theres a lil butcher area in the back, but no one is ever there. I have yet to buy meat here so I cant comment beyond this point. Its a little store, big for a corner market, but still small. I like that. Selection of other food items are low, but I mainly come here for the produce. This small little business has a rewards card! Yup, spend $300 bucks and get $5 off your next purchase. Thing is, as low as their prices are, it may take a while. It can get super packed at times, but its nothing compared to the Chinatown of San Francisco (a place I appreciate, but gives me anxiety). There are enough checkout stands to keep the line moving at a decent pace. Overall, I love this place!

Food, fruits, vegetables and imported items from Italy. Deli and even a butcher. Prices are very reasonable. My problems are aisles are very narrow for such a busy place. But, my biggest problem is my mother who is wheelchair bound amputee asked for help from one of the workers and he declined to help her. He said to her, I can not help you. That is terrible customer service. So a stranger helped her thankfully. And being that its only street parking, which is very busy. No one offered to help bring her groceries to the car which were cases of items plus bags. Shes always been helped to the car from other grocery stores! Customer service needs to be improved! They have many staff members that work there inside and outside that can help!

I want to like Valentinos more, they do have one of the better selections in the Ridgewood area, especially for produce. Pros: - Cheap/Competitive Prices, especially on produce - Probably the best produce selection within Ridgewood, even hard to find specialty items - Olive Bar & Homemade Cheese Cons: - Rude, Unhelpful Staff - Typical Older NYC Store - narrow walkway, overcrowded, disorganized etc - Staff are bumping into you, reaching over you and generally give you a claustrophobic feeling the entire time you are in-store Overall all with the great produce selection and good prices, given lack of other options in the area, I will probably continue to come here on occasion

Pros Great prices on practically everything fresh cheap fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses. So many different choices and variety at affordable prices. The cashiers are swift and efficient. Cons Very crowded very small very tight after 9am is a nightmare. No parking. They cant handle the large crowds properly..Customers are nasty and sometimes aggressive i have witness many occasions when patrons curse throw food and push other patrons when on the line and workers do nothing to deescalate the situation making customers uncomfortable not wanting to return..They need to make better organization or plan to make sure the lines are visible accessible and with no issues.. .

Never met the owners, but then I never met the owners of Keyfood, BJs and other stores, I would believe that those owners might not be nice either. Now that being said...this is my rating.. Cleaniness: so, so, when very busy (usually on weekends) because of too many people they havfe a hard time keeping the store from becoming over crowded with boxes of produce. Prices: very good compared to other stores, and supermarkets around Myrtle Avenue. I have found that they usually beat the prices on vegetables and some fruit. Just be prepared to meet crowds of people on the weekends, including baby carriages, etc. that do make it hard to walk around the store.

Great variety of produce at quite affordable and decent prices. The only reason Im docking a star is because the sheer volume of people crowded into this tiny space of a greenmarket gives me literal anxiety. I get heart palpitations from all the elbows and shopping baskets constantly rammed into my sides or elsewhere. Ugh. I wish they would just expand their space so shoppers could all comfortably fit in there together, but perhaps thats just a pipe dream.

I have lived here for the past 35 yrs. and while Valentinos does sell nice fresh fruit and vegetables the owners are nasty rude prejudiced Italians. My Dad who is partially blind and disabled went in there one day and they tried to rip him of on the change. The crooks. All these filthy rich Italians are cheap crooks. I personally dont go in there anymore. Their prices are outrageous.

Talk about the best produce at the best price. They import only the freshest food from South Jersey (Vineland) and around the states. Their import Italian products are amazing too. From different cheeses to specially desserts they have great homemade products. $20 will get you very far here. I suggest looking at the prices before you go to see what deals you can grab.

Great imported European product selection such as olive oil, dried pasta, salsa di pomodoro, canned tuna and sardines. Also, large variety of fresh vegetables and fruits. However, the shopping experience and the customer service are not the best. The place is always crowded and some customers are rude as well as some of the cashiers.

Veggies & fruits r priced well. But Valentinos doesnt take any manufacture coupons of any types . U wouldnt know that until youre told by the cashier when u try to use your coupons& . Exchanging monies. No signs anywhere about that . ... Hard to maneuver around the store . Many people use this market.

What do you like about it? Prices are hard to beat. Downside very crowded and had to maneuver in the store. Manager is extremely kind and generous. I was cooking for a shelter and he gave me all the produce I was purchasing for FREE. Where do you find that these days. I cannot say enough about Philippo.

Store is great. Prices in produce, deli, dairy and some groceries are unbeatable. Owners and staff are very nice. Always a crowd small and tight but well worth the wait for my pockets and belly. Keep up the good work Valentinos your great
