Came with a large group on a combination of Groupons and Pulsd vouchers... Based on our experience, I think the vouchers are great if you get the 2 person group. Otherwise, it is simply not enough time to shoot with 4 people. The hour long lesson for 4 included this ritual of returning the rifle to the rack in between each person using it. Seems like an OK way to learn gun safety, I guess. But also a huge time zap when youve already got 4 shooters, used up 10 minutes walking to and from the shooting grounds, and your instructor ends the lesson JUST shy of the actual 1 hour mark. I would typically tip an instructor, unfortunately it just didnt feel deserved on this particular day. Still I would give Orvis 4 stars because with a group of 2, the hour long lesson is plenty of shooting. Also, most of our party got back to the clubhouse a bit past the 1 hour lesson mark, showing that their instructors used the full hour shooting- and didnt include the time it takes to get acquainted and walk over the grounds as part of the lesson. The food is nothing special and I would definitely not buy lunch here again... lol... but it was fine and the server was pleasant. And we would definitely come back to shoot, but probably not for another lesson.

Orvis Sandanona is an incredible place! Its like a golf course except that your shooting clays instead of swinging clubs. They have various options of difficulty at each station which you can select from. There is a magnificent retail shop on site, a restaurant, sitting rooms with stone fireplaces, and even a large banquet hall for conferences and events. Orvis Sandanona is worth a long drive to visit and enjoy. You really have to see this place to understand its professionalism and beauty. You can get a real good sense of it by taking the Google Virtual Tour. Click on the "See Inside" image on this page and youll be able to virtually walk to a couple of the shooting stations as well as look through the inside of the lodge and retail shop.

It pains me to write this review because I dont want the word to get out on how wonderful a place Sandanona is. The staff, facility and food are 5 five star across the board. Our trapper Ed was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. If you have any experience with trap or skeet and what to take the next step, you need to get up to Millbrook, NY and experience Sandanona.

Being a novice accompanying a group of experienced xhooters, I got individualized help to get off on the right foot. Had a fabulous time. Next time I will keep the gun newtled tighter to my shoulder! Wonderful eperienced guides and amazing dogs. Looking forward to next visit!!

My daughter and I had a wonderful time! Our instructor, Jonathan, was outstanding. Lunch in the lodge was very good. Everyone there was so friendly. Beautiful setting. Would definitely go back!

It is good for shooting and hunting. Any other Orvis supplies are Seriosly lacking. Not an Orvis store in the typical sense.
